Abstract

The article suggests that politicians in the United States have failed to adequately support community colleges. The author claims that community colleges are facilitators of entrepreneurship and help students realize the American dream. In order to better support community colleges, the federal government must increase dedicated support for community colleges, modernize the federal student-aid system, and improve data-collection efforts. In addition, politicians must acknowledge nontraditional students.
