Recently, the market promotion of wireless power transfer (WPT) products has generated great expectations for systematic design and optimization of practical WPT system (especially the coupler). The existing optimization methods usually employ the Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to simulate the magnetic field, where the effects and requirements of overall circuit are neglected. To address this issue, an optimization approach for the coupler based on circuit simulation is proposed in this paper, and the secondary compensation capacitor is further optimized to improve the system performance. The simulation model is embedded into Simulink and the calculation part is embedded into MATLAB, where the objective is to achieve the maximum efficiency by searching three variables under adequate constraints. The numerical results imply that the proposed method is more effective and accurate than the traditional trial-and-error way, and that it suits the practical WPT system design excellently. In this paper, we use car-following theory to study the traditional vehicle's running cost and the electric vehicle's running cost. The numerical results illustrate that the traditional vehicle's running cost is larger than that of the electric vehicle and that the system's total running cost drops with the increase of the electric vehicle's proportion, which shows that the electric vehicle is better than the traditional vehicle from the perspective of the running cost. Electric vehicles have gained more and more attention because of the serious oil crisis and environmental problems. However, the disadvantages of the electric vehicle, such as short driving range, high battery cost, and inconvenient charging, are hindering its market development and expansion. The realization of on-road wireless power transfer technology can effectively solve the problems of short driving range, prevent the battery from being completely discharged to prolong its service life, and reduce requirement of on-board battery. In this paper, the charging mode and the compensation topology of wireless power transfer technology are discussed and then the equivalent circuit model of segmental wireless power transfer system is built. Since the SOC (state of charge) of the battery of each electric vehicle directly determines whether the battery should be charged/swapped, the SOC may affect the electric vehicle’s driving behavior. In this paper, we introduce the SOC of battery into the electric vehicle’s driving behavior model and propose a car-following model for electric vehicles, and then use the proposed model to study the effects of the SOC of battery and battery swap on each vehicle’s driving behavior in the heterogeneous traffic system consisting of traditional vehicles and electric vehicles. The numerical results show that the proposed model can reproduce some complex traffic phenomena resulted by the SOC of battery and battery swap and that the influences on each vehicle’s driving behavior are directly related to the initial traffic state, the electric vehicle’s proportion, and the SOC of battery. In this paper, we propose a car-following model to explore the influences of the electric vehicle’s driving range on the driving behavior under four traffic situations. The numerical results illustrate that the electric vehicle’s behavior of exchanging battery at the charge station can destroy the stability of traffic flow and produce some prominent jams, and that the influences are related to the electric vehicle’s driving range, i.e., the shorter the driving range is, the greater the effects are. In this paper, we use car-following model to study the effects of battery exchange at the on-line charging station on the vehicle’s driving behavior and running time. The numerical results illustrate that battery exchange will produce one prominent starting process at the upstream of the charging station and one prominent braking process at the downstream of the charging station and enhance each vehicle’s running time and the system’s total running time and that the influences of battery exchange on each vehicle’s driving behavior (including the starting and braking processes, the personal running time and the system’s total running time) are directly related to each vehicle’s arrival rate at the origin, the electric vehicle’s proportion and each electric vehicle’s series number in the vehicle fleet.
