Cationic iron (III) tetrakis-5, 10, 15, 20-( N-methyl-4-pyridyl) porphyrin (Fe IIITMPyP) was intercalated into layered semiconductor KNb 3O 8 by ion-exchange method. The target product was characterized by XRD, Fourier transform infrared, UV–vis, and TGA. Fe IIITMPyP forms an inclined monolayer between Nb 3O 8− nanosheets and endues the nanocomposite with excellent electrochemical catalytic activities. The target nanocomposite modified glass carbon electrode shows good electrocatalytic activities for the oxidation of ascorbic acid (AA); the catalytic mechanism was proposed. Differential pulse voltammetric technique was used for detection of AA in neutral aqueous solution; a detection limit of 4.2 × 10 −5 M was obtained, and the modified electrode showed good reproducibility in electrochemical detection. Abstract: A new Cu metal–organic framework (Cu-MOF), [Cu(adp)(BIB)(H2O)] n (BIB=1,4-bisimidazolebenzene; H2adp=adipic acid), is synthesised under hydrothermal conditions. Single-crystal X-ray analysis reveals a three-dimensional supramolecular architecture with channels originating from two-dimensional layers extended by hydrogen bonds. The cyclic voltammogram of a [Cu(adp)(BIB)(H2O)] n -modified electrode shows a pair of redox peaks at ca. 0.43V in 0.1M NaOH solution corresponding to CuIII(OH)-MOF/CuII(H2O)-MOF couple. The Cu-MOF-modified electrode shows high electrocatalytic activity towards H2O2 oxidation with a linear range from 0.1μM to 2.75μM and a detection limit of 0.068μM. MnTMPyP–Ti 4 O 9 nanocomposite was prepared by the direct coassembly of oppositely charged building blocks, exfoliated titanate nanosheets and 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(N-methylpyridinium-4-yl) porphyrinato manganese(III), MnTMPyP cations. XRD, IR, SEM, and TEM revealed that Mn porphyrin has been successfully inserted into the lamellar spacing of layered titanate. The metalloporphyrin molecules incorporated within the nanocomposite were found to be tilted approximately 42° against the titanate nanosheets. Further, the obtained MnTMPyP–Ti 4 O 9 nanocomposite has been examined for the electrochemical detection of nitrite using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry techniques. The electrochemical studies demonstrated that MnTMPyP–Ti 4 O 9 nanocomposite detects nitrite linearly over a concentration range of 2.0×10 −6 –1.57×10 −3 M with the detection limit of 1.25×10 −6 M at a signal-to-noise ratio of 3. Active electrocatalysts are the key of water splitting for hydrogen production through the electrolysis. In this paper, Ni foams substrates as templates, self-supporting ternary alloy catalyst was prepared by one step at room temperature. Growth mechanism of self-supporting ternary alloy catalyst is explored by growth process. Micro-current technology of galvanic reaction and the principle of interface electric double layer reaction are important to the self-supporting ternary alloy catalyst. Their catalytic activity was evaluated by electrocatalytic hydrogen evolution(HER). It exhibits excellent HER properties with a overpotential (17 mV) and small Tafel slope (10.2 mVdec−1). Their enhanced performances in HER catalysts can be mainly attributed to ternary alloy catalysts structure, which allows the appearance synergistic effects and larger specific surface area. This research is to control the micro-area of chemical reaction at the atomic level by non-precious template and all kinds of precursor mixture solution. Self-supporting ternary alloy catalyst was prepared by one-step galvanic replacement. They display exerlent superior activity for the HER in base solution with an onset reduction potential of + 17 mV vs RHE and small Tafel slope (10.2 mVdec−1). Abstract: Highly uniform urchin-like Co3O4 crystallites were prepared using thermal decomposition of precursor approach. The catalytic activity of prepared crystallites on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP) shows that Co3O4 plays a catalytic role on the thermal decomposition of AP. The prepared Co3O4 urchin-modified glass carbon (GC) electrode was applied to study the electrocatalytic of H2O2.
