Through introducing the ingredients of electromagnetic induction and coupled time delay into the original Fitzhugh–Nagumo (FHN) neuronal network, the dynamics of stochastic resonance in a model of modified FHN neuronal network in the environment of phase noise is explored by numerical simulations in this study. On one hand, we demonstrate that the phenomenon of stochastic resonance can appear when the intensity of phase noise is appropriately adjusted, which is further verified to be robust to the edge-added probability of small-world network. Moreover, under the influence of electromagnetic induction, the phase noise-induced resonance response is suppressed, meanwhile, a large noise intensity is required to induce stochastic resonance as the feedback gain of induced current increases. On the other hand, when the coupled time delay is incorporated into this model, the results indicate that the properly tuned time delay can induce multiple stochastic resonances in this neuronal network. However, the phenomenon of multiple stochastic resonances is found to be restrained upon increasing feedback gain of induced current. Surprisingly, by changing the period of phase noise, multiple stochastic resonances can still emerge when the coupled time delay is appropriately tuned to be integer multiples of the period of phase noise. Based on our previous pulsed current and internal overvoltage test data and the experience of common commercial high power cables, a 100 kA coaxial pulsed power cable is designed and manufactured to adapt the coaxial electric energy breech transmission between the plasma generator and the pulsed power supply (PPS) in electrothermal-chemical (ETC) guns. The index parameters are analyzed and determined. Semi-conductor layers and a shield stiffener are introduced to prevent the deformation and burst of the pulsed power cable structurally. The semi-conductor layer can eliminate the air gap and balance the electric field in the cable. The shield stiffener can multiply the mechanical strength to restrain the strong electrodynamic force produced by the core dislocation of the outer conductor. The multi-coupling of electromagnetic field, stress field and thermal field analysis are established to assist in aided design of electrical strength, mechanical strength and temperature rise characteristics. Both a DC voltage withstand test and pulsed discharge tests are introduced to verify and inspect the performance and dynamic response of the pulsed power cable. The 25 kV/5min DC voltage withstand test result shows that the sample leakage current is nearly 3 mA and no abnormal phenomena of the pulsed power cable sample occurred. The pulsed discharge tests show that the sample can sustain the 100 kA peak current. Furthermore, this 100 kA coaxial pulsed power cable can satisfy the ETC test requirements. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Recently, transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) materials have shown promise in electronics and optoelectronics applications. Most of their properties are closely related to their abundant structural phases and phase transitions. For more practical applications in the future, it is necessary to tune the phase transitions in this material system. Here, we demonstrate the modulation of phase transitions in miscible WxMo1-xTe2 samples by appropriate alloying. The temperature dependent thermal conductivity along the c-axis, which strongly relates to the phase structures and the defect level, has been measured using the time-domain thermoreflectance method. In addition, a tunable hysteretic effect, induced by phase transitions, is observed in both thermal and electrical transport properties and confirmed by the consistent hysteresis in the Raman spectroscopic study. This hysteretic effect can be applied to realize phase-change storage devices. Furthermore, we provide a phase diagram to illustrate the composition dependent phase transition in WxMo1-xTe2. FePt(50 nm) and [FePt(2,3,5 nm)/AlN(1 nm)]n films were prepared by RF magnetron sputtering technique, then annealed at 550°C for 30 min. This work investigates the effect of the number of bilayer repetitions (n) and AlN concentration on structures and magnetic properties of various [FePt/AlN]n multilayers. The highest coercivities of [FePt/AlN]n multilayers were obtained when n was given as 8. The grain sizes of [FePt/AlN]n films were increased with increasing n. Introducing the non-magnetic AlN not only hindered the growth of FePt particles, but also reduced the intergrain exchange interactions of the [FePt/AlN]n films. And the intergrain interactions were decreased with increasing AlN concentration. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

• Photocatalysis of CdS/MoS 2 /Mo was improved by 89% in magnetic field. • In situ micro-potential drives photo-induced charge separation in suspension. • Hybrid nanostructure combines photocatalyst, co-catalyst and micro-potential. Building a persistently active potential in photocatalyst is always important but difficult for the high-performance photocatalysis. Based on the idea that electromagnetic induction effect can derive an in-situ micro-potential on a micro-conductor, a nanostructured hybrid CdS/MoS 2 /Mo photocatalyst is designed and synthesized by a one-step hydrothermal process. By replacing the commercial magnetic stirrer with the magnetic field strengthened one, the H 2 evolution efficiency of the CdS/MoS 2 /Mo hybrid microstructures is improved by 89% illuminated at 100 mW·cm−2 Xe lamp illumination. The in situ micro-potential in the metallic Mo sheet which is derived from the electromagnetic induction during the relative motion in the magnetic field should play the key role in the enhancement of the photocatalysis. This type of hybrid nanostructure can combine with the photocatalyst, the co-catalyst, and the carrier separation effect of the micro-potential, which can extend the application of the external field in the enhancement of photocatalytic performance, especially for magnetic field application with low extra energy consumption.
