1. Perceptions of University Students in Communication about Disinformation: An Exploratory Analysis in Brazil, Colombia and Spain.

Abstract

This exploratory research is framed in the context of information disorders and its main objective is to identify the perception of Communication students in Brazil, Colombia and Spain about disinformation, their information consumption practices and aspects of their university education on media literacy. In order to carry out this study, an online survey was conducted between May and July 2023 in 23 higher education centers in the three countries, answered by 231 students. The main findings indicate that university students are aware of what fake news are and most of them know how to identify disinformative content, despite the fact that the development of the necessary skills for a critical reading of the media and the fight against disinformation takes place transversally in different subjects according to the students' perception, which shows the absence of a specific subject on media literacy in the curricula of the Communication degrees in the institutions assessed in the three countries. Abstract

This exploratory and qualitative research focuses on the analysis of the polarization of hate messages towards the Trans Law of Spain in the videos published on TikTok. The sample is made up of 112 contents posted between October 13, 2022 and April 13, 2023. For this study, a content analysis has been carried out that includes seven variables. The main findings indicate the predominance of negative affective polarization towards the new legislation against the LGTBI+ community, through discursive resources that use the hate and misinformation to ridicule the law and the trans community. Abstract

Este artículo presenta un análisis de los elementos y criterios profesionales de diez blogs periodísticos (j-blogs) políticos integrados en webs de periódicos de referencia de Brasil y España. El objetivo del estudio es comprender los elementos relativos a la práctica periodística y los criterios profesionales tan discutidos por Kovach y Rosenstiel (2003) en esos blogs. Se trata de investigar aspectos que incluyen desde el uso de un método objetivo en la verificación de la información a la consulta a fuentes. Para averiguarlos en el proceso de generación del contenido de 977 posts, publicados entre 2010 y 2011, hemos realizado un análisis de contenido web y entrevistas con los periodistas-blogueros. Un dato relevante de la investigación es que en el caso de los j-blogs las fuentes pueden estar referenciadas indirectamente a través de un enlace. This article presents an analysis of the elements and professional criteria in ten political journalistic blogs (j-blogs) integrated into regular reference newspapers’ websites in Brazil and Spain. The objective of the study is to understand the factors relating to the journalistic practice and professional standards as discussed by Kovach and Rosenstiel (2003) in these blogs. This is investigating aspects ranging from the use of an objective method in the verification of the information to the sources consulted. To find them out in the process of content generation of 977 posts, published between 2010 and 2011, we have perform an analysis of web content and interviews with journalists-bloggers. A relevant point of the research is that in j-blogs the sources may be referenced indirectly via a link.

5. Mapa de los blogs en los periódicos españoles

Abstract

Este artículo elabora un mapa de los blogs hospedados en la edición digital de 66 periódicos de España. Además de conocer el número de bitácoras por diario, el análisis cuantitativo propuesto en este estudio revela la antigüedad y la sección temática de cada blog. De esta forma, es posible descubrir el perfil de los blogs en los periódicos online de referencia y comprender algunos aspectos evolutivos del nuevo medio dentro de los diarios españoles. Los resultados de esta investigación apuntan aspectos discrepantes entre diarios de referencia y diarios regionales o locales. This article develops a map of the blogs hosted on the online edition of 66 newspapers of Spain. Besides knowing the number of logs per newspaper, the quantitative analysis proposed in this study shows the age and the thematic section of each blog. Thus, it is possible to trace the profile of blogging in the newspapers online reference and understand evolutionary aspects of the new medium in the Spanish newspapers. The results of this research show discrepant aspects between reference newspapers and day regional or local newspapers.
