The contribution deals with the numerical simulation of 2D transonic flow through a mid-span turbine blade cascade for several Mach numbers by means of the EARSM turbulence model of Hellsten [1] connected with the algebraic bypass transition model of Straka and Příhoda [2]. Both models are implemented into an in-house numerical code based on the finite volume method. The γ transition model of Menter et al. The work deals with the numerical simulation of 3D turbulent flow over backward facing step in a narrow channel. The mathematical model is based on the RANS equations with an explicit algebraic Reynolds stress model (EARSM). The numerical method uses implicit finite volume upwind discretization. While the eddy viscosity models fail in predicting complex 3D flows, the EARSM model is shown to provide results which agree well with experimental PIV data. The work deals with numerical simulations of incompressible flow in channels with rectangular cross section. The rectangular cross section itself leads to development of various secondary flow patterns, where accuracy of simulation is influenced by numerical viscosity of the scheme and by turbulence modeling. In this work some developments of stabilized finite element method are presented. Its results are compared with those of an implicit finite volume method also described, in laminar and turbulent flows. It is shown that numerical viscosity can cause errors of same magnitude as different turbulence models. The finite volume method is also applied to 3D turbulent flow around backward facing step and good agreement with 3D experimental results is obtained. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The work deals with the numerical simulations of a 3D incompressible viscous turbulent flow in the branched channels with circular cross section. The mathematical model is based on the unsteady Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (URANS) equations with the explicit algebraic Reynolds stress (EARSM) turbulence model. The resulting set of partial differential equations is then solved by artificial compressibility method in dual time in the finite volume formulation. The flow through the round branched channel with branch perpendicular to the main channel (T-junction) is considered. Diameter of the main channel is 50mm and diameter of the branch is 32mm. The work deals with numerical solution of 2D incompressible flow over backward facing step. The inclination angles of the upper wall of the channel were chosen as in measurements by Driver and Seegmiller [1]. Two numerical methods are considered. One is finite volume method, the other one is finite element method. Turbulence is modeled using two-equation turbulence models of k-ω type. The influence of outlet boundary condition is discussed and do-nothing-like condition found suitable also for finite volume method. The comparison of both methods is presented for laminar as well as turbulent cases, including experimental results. The differences of the results are studied using one turbulence model and both numerical methods or one method and more turbulence models. It is found that sensitivity of the computation to these circumstances increases for higher inclination angles (diffuser flow). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
