Abstract: Two new nickel(II) phosphonates (H4PMIDA= N-(phosphonomethyl)iminodiacetic acid, H4L), one-dimensional zigzag chain (NH4)2[Ni(PMIDA)(H2O)] (1) and tetramer (H3O)8[Ni4O2(HPMIDA)4(H2O)2] (2), have been solvothermally synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, TGA and X-ray single-crystal diffraction, and their magnetic and fluorescent properties are also reported. Compound 1 is the first chain phosphonate linked by carboxyl group in anti–anti mode based on Ni(II) and H4PMIDA ligand, and compound 2 with tetranuclear units is the first example of showing the spin-canting antiferromagnetic coupling between Ni(II) centers. Two novel coordination compounds, [Zn(Hbimh) (H 2 O)]·H 2 O ( 1 ) and [Zn(Hbimh)]·(4,4ʹ-bpy) 0.5 ( 2 ) (H 3 bimh = benzimidazole-5,6-hydrazide, 4,4ʹ-bpy = 4,4ʹ-bipyridine), have been prepared from the hydrothermal in situ amidation cyclization reactions of H 3 bimdc (H 3 bimdc = benzimidazole-5,6-dicarboxylic acid) and hydrazine hydrate (N 2 H 4 ·H 2 O). Compound 1 exhibits a one-dimensional (1D) hexagon channel structure. Compound 2 is a three-dimensional (3D) framework structure, with 4,4ʹ-bpy fill the channels. We also obtained the ligand H 3 bimh. The compounds were characterized by IR, PXRD, TGA and elemental analysis. The fluorescence properties in the solid state at room temperature were also investigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Three new supramolecular compounds, [Cu( o -HPIDC)(bpy)(H 2 O)]·2H 2 O 1 , [Cu( o -H 2 PIDC)(phen)Cl]·[Cu(phen) 2 Cl]·10H 2 O·Cl 2 and {[Cd( o -H 2 PIDC)(H 2 O) 2 Cl]·H 2 O} 2 3 ( o -H 3 PIDC = 2-(pyridine-2-yl)-1H-imidazole-4,5-dicarboxylic acid, bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), were hydrothermally synthesized and characterized. In compound 1 , the adjacent two supramolecular layers are constructed from different types of helical chains with the same pitch. In compound 2 , the adjacent 2D water-chloride layers, {[(H 2 O) 10 Cl] − } n , are pillared by [Cu( o -H 2 PIDC)(phen)Cl] units to form the overall 3D supramolecular network with 1D channels through O H⋯O hydrogen bond interactions. In compound 3 , two Cd(II) are linked into a binuclear [Cd 2 ( o -H 2 PIDC) 2 (H 2 O) 4 Cl 2 ] with a ten-membered ring by two o -H 2 PIDC − ligands. The three compounds self-assemble into 3D supramolecular structures via hydrogen bond and π-π stacking interactions. The fluorescence properties of compound 3 was also investigated. Abstract: Four new organic–inorganic hybrid compounds based on bicapped Keggin polyoxometalate {PMo12Sb2O40}: [H24,4′-bpy][PMo12Sb2O40]·6H2O (1), [Him]2[PMo12Sb2O40]·H2O (2), [H3(DABCO)2][PMo12Sb2O40]·2H2O (3) and [Mn(phen)3][PMo12Sb2O40] (4) (bpy=bipyridine, im=imidazole, DABCO=1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octane, phen=phenanthroline) have been prepared hydrothermally and characterized by IR, UV–Vis spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), powder XRD analyses, elemental analyses, fluorescence analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. The four compounds are new examples of hybrid compounds based on bicapped Keggin polyoxometalate {PMo12Sb2O40}. Compound 1, 2 and 3 are constructed from {PMo12Sb2O40} anions and different organic moieties, respectively. Compound 4 is formed by combining {PMo12Sb2O40} anions and manganese coordination complexes. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract: Two new zinc(II)–triazole–aliphatic dicarboxylate coordination polymers, [Zn(trz)(Hsuc)] n (1), [Zn2(trz)2(tar)] n (2), have been hydrothermally synthesized by reaction of Zn salt, Htrz with H2suc and H2tar, respectively (Htrz=1,2,4-triazole, H2suc=succinic acid, H2tar=tartaric acid). Their structures were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses and further characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, elemental analyses, IR spectra and TG analyses. Compound 1 displays a 2D layer structure containing {[Zn4(trz)4]4+} n layers decorated by the suc ligand. Compound 2 is in a 3D structure formed by the interconnection of 2D {[Zn4(trz)4]4+} n layers with tar ligand, resulting a 3,4-connected topological network. Due to the different coordination mode and conformation of aliphatic carboxylate ligand, the similar 2D {[Zn4(trz)4]4+} n layers stack in the –AAA– fashion in 1, while the {[Zn4(trz)4]4+} n layers hold together in the –ABAB– stacking sequence in 2. Additionally, the two compounds show strong fluorescence in the solid state at room temperature. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
