A cherished Sri Lankan tradition comprising tales from different regions, stories about Kuweni recount how Prince Vijaya from North India took power in Sri Lanka with the help of Kuweni, a native young woman. This study introduces a qualitative thematic metaphorical approach to analyze Kuweni's legend.
