Abstract

The article discusses the 1988 construction and dedication of a holocaust memorial fountain at the synagogue in Hildesheim, Germany. Information is provided on the memorial's designer Elmar Hillebrand of the Kölner Schule group of Catholic artists, the design of the fountain is analyzed, and the alleged importance of the fountain's resonance with the medieval landmarks of Hildesheim is emphasized.
