In this paper, the theoretical study on the laminar boundary-layer flow of ferrofluid with influences of magnetic field and thermal radiation is investigated. The viscosity of ferrofluid flow over a solid sphere surface is examined theoretically for magnetite volume fraction by using boundary-layer equations. The governing equations are derived by applied the non-similarity transformation then solved numerically by utilizing the Keller-box method. It is found that the increments in ferroparticles (Fe3O4) volume fraction declines the fluid velocity but elevates the fluid temperature at a sphere surface. Consequently, the results showed viscosity is enhanced with the increase of the ferroparticles volume fraction and acts as a pivotal role in the distribution of velocity, temperature, reduced skin friction coefficient, and reduced Nusselt number of ferrofluid. In this paper, the effect of radiation on magnetohydrodynamic free convection boundary layer flow on a solid sphere with convective boundary conditions, in which the heat is supplied through a bounding surface of finite thickness and finite heat capacity, is considered. The basic equations of the boundary layer are transformed into a non-dimensional form and reduced to nonlinear systems of partial differential equations and solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme known as the Keller-box method. Numerical solutions are obtained for the wall temperature, the heat transfer coefficient, local Nusselt number and the local skin friction coefficient, as well as the velocity and temperature profiles. The features of the flow and heat transfer characteristics for various values of the Prandtl number Pr, magnetic parameter M, radiation parameter NR, the conjugate parameter y, and the coordinate running along the surface of the sphere, x are analyzed and discussed. This study theoretically investigates the conjugate effects of radiation flux and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) on free convection boundary layer flow of a nanofluid over a nonlinear stretching sheet. It is assumed that the magnetic Reynolds number is small enough and the sheet is stretched with a power law velocity under the effects of the magnetic field, the buoyancy parameter, and the solutal buoyancy parameter. The model used for the nanofluid incorporates the effects of Rosseland approximation, Brownian motion, and thermophoresis parameters. By using appropriate similarity transformations, the governing nonlinear partial differential equations are transformed into dimensionless form and numerically solved using an implicit finite difference scheme known as the Keller-box method. It is found that the variations of magnetic field, buoyancy parameter, solutal buoyancy parameter, and the power law velocity parameter have strong influence on the motion. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
