The article describes various methods to study tight reservoirs' micro and super-micro pore structures to achieve the exploration and development of unconventional hydrocarbon resources. The methods include scanning electron microscope (SEM), focused ion beam (FIB)-SEM, micron-computed tomography (CT) and nano-CT, fluid infiltration method, and gas adsorption. It notes that each method has its own limitation to study tight reservoirs.
