Education, as a social institution, requires for the achievement of its objectives a management process supported by high preparation and specialization of its executors. In this mission, there is no doubt that the overcoming of the teaching and management faculty plays a decisive role in confronting the complexities of university work. In most of the Ecuadorian universities there is a tendency to increase the number of teachers and executives who study some form of improvement. However, there is still a prevalence due to the obtaining of academic degrees that do not correspond to the requirements to perform certain functions or responsibilities. Affecting the satisfaction of the training needs of the same to direct the university processes particularly in relation to their academic management. The objective of this study consists in the elaboration of a strategy for overcoming managers based on a model of continuous training in academic management in the university context. It assumes as a methodological conception the materialist dialectical approach which puts man at the center of the problem and propitiates in its dynamics its transformation and that of the context where it develops. In order to corroborate the feasibility of the implementation of the strategy and check whether the university directors develop the academic management of the training process with relevance and optimization as a manifestation of its quality, the inductive-deductive, and empirical, qualitative methods were used as theoretical-level methods.
