KM3NeT/ORCA is a dense array that constitutes the low-energy branch of the KM3NeT project with the main goal of resolving the question of the neutrino mass ordering. At present, the KM3NeT/ORCA Phase 1 has already been deployed, which means that six out of the planned 115 detection lines are operational. Even with this limited configuration, neutrino oscillations can already be measured and studied. In this contribution, the sensitivity to the neutrino Non-Standard Interactions (NSI) parameter $\epsilon_{\mu \tau}$ using the current stage of the KM3NeT/ORCA detector together with the projections for the final configuration are presented.

ANTARES, currently the largest neutrino telescope in the Mediterranean Sea, has been operating for more than 10 years. ANTARES provides unprecedented sensitivity for neutrino source searches in the Southern Sky at TeV energies, so that valuable constraints can be set on the origin of the cosmic neutrinos discovered by the IceCube detector. ANTARES has also constrained the neutrino emission from possible Dark Matter annihilation in massive objects like the Sun or the Galactic Centre, and has measured the neutrino oscillation parameters in the atmospheric sector. Building on the ANTARES experience, KM3NeT, a new, much larger detector with improved design and technology is under construction on two sites in the Mediterranean sea. Deployed off the coast of Sicily, the ARCA telescope (Astroparticle Research with Cosmics in the Abyss) will be dedicated to the detection of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos. When completed, KM3NeT-ARCA detector with dimensions exceeding one kilometre cube, will reconstruct with an excellent angular resolution signatures of neutrinos of all flavors in a very clear deep-sea water environment. KM3NeT-ARCA, situated in the Northern hemisphere, will be able to observe up-going neutrinos from most of the Galactic Plane, making it possible to study the neutrino fluxes from different astrophysics sources, as well as neutrinos from Dark Matter annihilation. The latest results from ANTARES and the perspectives of the KM3NeT-ARCA detector will be presented.

In the last decade, neutrino astronomy has taken off with two major breakthroughs, the first observation of high-energy astrophysical neutrinos in 2013 and the first evidence for gamma-rays and neutrinos from a single object published in summer 2018. In this talk, we will review these important milestones as well as the other noteworthy achievements reached by the community. We will emphasize the important role of neutrino searches in the multi-messenger era and describe the current efforts carried out in the large neutrino telescope community. Since 2007 the ANTARES high energy neutrino detector, installed in the depths of the Mediter- ranean Sea, is taking data. It is located 40 km off the French coast instrumenting a volume of about 0.01 cubic kilometers. The main aim of the ANTARES neutrino telescope is the search of astrophysical neutrinos as a diffuse flux or coming from astrophysical sources. ANTARES can observe in real time neutrinos correlated in space and time with other cosmic probes (multi- messenger approach) providing valuable informations from the Northern sky. With the aim to enlarge the effective areas for the detection of high energy neutrinos and also to give valuable responses in the neutrino physics domain, the KM3NeT collaboration is construct- ing two detectors in the Mediterranean Sea: KM3NeT/ARCA mainly devoted to the discovery and observation of neutrinos from Active Galactic Nuclei and Galactic sources and KM3NeT/ORCA devoted to the study of the fundamental properties of the neutrino. In this work the main recent results achieved by the ANTARES collaboration and the KM3NeT perspectives as well the first results from the deployed KM3NeT Detection Units will be reported.

The ANTARES neutrino telescope and its next-generation successor, KM3NeT, located in the abyss of the Mediterranean Sea, have been designed to study neutrinos from a variety of sources over a wide range of energies and baselines. One of the primary goals of the experiments is to measure the Earth-matter effects stemming from the energy and zenith angle dependence of the atmospheric neutrinos in the multi-GeV range. The study of atmospheric neutrinos is instrumental in addressing some of the outstanding issues in neutrino oscillation physics, especially the fundamental question of the neutrino mass ordering, as well as probing new physics scenarios beyond the Standard Model. In this thesis, we exploit the data of ANTARES and explore the physics potential of KM3NeT-ORCA (ORCA being the low energy component of KM3NeT) to measure the sub-dominant effects in the atmospheric neutrino oscillations vis-\`a-vis non-standard neutrino interactions (NSIs). The Monte Carlo simulation framework, which comprises the simulation of neutrino interactions, particle generation and light propagation, event selection and reconstruction, as well as the statistical treatment of data and systematic uncertainties has been described in great detail. We present a likelihood search for NSIs with 10 years of atmospheric muon-neutrino data recorded with ANTARES and explore sensitivity projections for ORCA based on realistic detector simulations. Moreover, we outline the impact of NSIs on the discovery potential of ORCA towards the neutrino mass ordering. In addition, the sensitivity of ORCA towards the octant of $\theta_{23}$ has been reported. Remarkably, the bounds obtained with ANTARES excludes hitherto allowed regions from current experimental data, and represent the worldwide best limit in the $\mu - \tau$ sector up to date.

ANTARES , the underwater neutrino telescope in the Northern Hemisphere, has been continuously operating since 2007 in the Mediterranean Sea. The transparency of the water allows for a very good angular resolution in the reconstruction of interactions from neutrinos of all flavours. This results in unprecedented sensitivity for neutrino source searches in the Southern Sky at TeV energies, so that valuable constraints can be set on the origin of the cosmic neutrino flux discovered by the IceCube detector. Building on the successful experience of ANTARES the next generation KM3NeT neutrino telescope is now under construction in the Mediterranean Sea to significantly boost the sensitivity. Two detectors with the same technology but different granularity are under construction at two sites and will focus on high energy cosmic neutrinos (ARCA with Gton instrumented volume, offshore Capo Passero, Italy) and on atmospheric neutrinos at low energies down to a few GeV to address atmospheric neutrino oscillations (ORCA with Mtons instrumented volume, offshore Toulon, France). The basic KM3NeT detection element, the Digital Optical Module (DOM), houses 31 three-inch PMTs inside a 17 inch glass sphere. This multi-PMT concept allows for an accurate measurement of the light intensity (photon counting) and offers directional information with an almost isotropic field of view, at a reduced cost. This contribution will provide an overview on the newest results from ANTARES and an outlook towards the construction plan and exciting science potential of KM3NeT.

International audience; antares is a first generation neutrino telescope, built in the deep sea. We present here its latest results, focusing on the constraints placed on the origin of the cosmic signal observed by the icecube detector. In parallel to the antares results, we discuss the expected performance of the next generation detector under construction in the Mediterranean Sea - km3net- and in particular its high-energy component arca.
