We revisit the next-to-leading order (NLO) perturbative QCD corrections for the deeply virtual meson production (DVMP) process, exploring its phenomenology both in isolation and in a multichannel fit combined with deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS). Our approach involves the conformal partial wave (CPaW) formalism, which allows for the straightforward inclusion of higher-order contributions and evolutionary effects. Our findings indicate that a description of the longitudinal component of the vector meson DVMP cross-section at high energies is achievable only at NLO within the standard collinear approach. Furthermore, we demonstrate a simultaneous description of DIS, DVCS, and DVMP processes, providing insights into the proton structure described at NLO by unique universal generalized parton distribution (GPD) functions., Comment: 36 pages, 13 figures, small corrections, refs added, matches published version + erratum

Lepton scattering is an established ideal tool for studying inner structure of small particles such as nucleons as well as nuclei. As a future high energy nuclear physics project, an Electron-ion collider in China (EicC) has been proposed. It will be constructed based on an upgraded heavy-ion accelerator, High Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF) which is currently under construction, together with a new electron ring. The proposed collider will provide highly polarized electrons (with a polarization of $\sim$80%) and protons (with a polarization of $\sim$70%) with variable center of mass energies from 15 to 20 GeV and the luminosity of (2-3) $\times$ 10$^{33}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. Polarized deuterons and Helium-3, as well as unpolarized ion beams from Carbon to Uranium, will be also available at the EicC. The main foci of the EicC will be precision measurements of the structure of the nucleon in the sea quark region, including 3D tomography of nucleon; the partonic structure of nuclei and the parton interaction with the nuclear environment; the exotic states, especially those with heavy flavor quark contents. In addition, issues fundamental to understanding the origin of mass could be addressed by measurements of heavy quarkonia near-threshold production at the EicC. In order to achieve the above-mentioned physics goals, a hermetical detector system will be constructed with cutting-edge technologies. This document is the result of collective contributions and valuable inputs from experts across the globe. The EicC physics program complements the ongoing scientific programs at the Jefferson Laboratory and the future EIC project in the United States. Using the available data on deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) off protons and utilizing neural networks enhanced by the dispersion relation constraint, we determine six out of eight leading Compton form factors in the valence quark kinematic region. Furthermore, adding recent data on DVCS off neutrons, we separate contributions of up and down quarks to the dominant form factor, thus paving the way towards a three-dimensional picture of the nucleon., Comment: 6 pages, 5 figures

This volume is a collection of contributions for the 7-week program "Probing Nucleons and Nuclei in High Energy Collisions" that was held at the Institute for Nuclear Theory in Seattle, WA, USA, from October 1 until November 16, 2018. The program was dedicated to the physics of the Electron Ion Collider (EIC), the world's first polarized electron-nucleon (ep) and electron-nucleus (eA) collider to be constructed in the USA. We explore the potential of a selected model of radiative neutrino masses to be implemented in a renormalizable SU(5) unification framework. The Zee-type model under consideration uncovers the SU(5) representations in which the new fields are embedded and which may contain also other light states leading to the unification of gauge couplings. We perform an exhaustive search which reveals specific patterns of new states and demonstrate that such patterns are consistent with a general choice of relevant scalar potential. It turns out that all of the specific scenarios which lead to successful unification include the colored scalars testable at the LHC., Comment: LaTeX, 31 pages

Testable Higgs partners may be sought within the extensions of the SM Higgs sector aimed at generating neutrino masses at the loop level. We study a viability of extended Higgs sectors for two selected models of radiative neutrino masses: a one-loop mass model, providing the Higgs partner within a real triplet scalar representation, and a three-loop mass model, providing it within its two-Higgs-doublet sector. The Higgs sector in the one-loop model may remain stable and perturbative up to the Planck scale, whereas the three-loop model calls for a UV completion around 106 GeV. Additional vector-like lepton and exotic scalar fields, which are required to close one- and three-loop neutrino-mass diagrams, play a decisive role for the testability of the respective models. Viable explanations of a hinted 750 GeV scalar resonance may be sought within the extensions of the SM Higgs sector aimed at generating neutrino masses at the loop level. We confront a compatibility with the 750 GeV diphoton excess for two recent models which do not need to impose ad hoc symmetry to forbid the tree-level masses: a one-loop mass model providing the H(750) candidate within its real triplet scalar representation and a three-loop mass model providing it within its two Higgs doublets. Besides accounting for the 750 GeV resonance, we demonstrate that these complementary neutrino-mass scenarios have different testable predictions for the LHC which should show up soon as more data is accumulated during the ongoing 13 TeV run., Comment: 23 pages, 5 figures, new section and refs added; to stay unpublished since diphoton signal disappeared

Having in mind the well-known limitations of certain models of generalized parton distributions (GPDs), we show that the allegedly universal GPDs, describing both deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) and deeply virtual meson production (DVMP) data, fail to describe measurements of deep inelastic scattering. We present a new global DVCS fit that describes reasonably the world data set, which includes now also new measurements from Hall A and CLAS collaborations. We also explicitly illustrate that Compton form factors (CFFs) cannot be unambiguously extracted from photon electroproduction measurements off unpolarized proton alone and we argue that it is more reliable to interpret such measurements in terms of certain CFF combinations, where still some care is needed in order to estimate the propagated error., Comment: 15 pages, 5 figures, contribution to the 6th International conference on Physics Opportunities at Electron-Ion colliders (POETIC6)

We propose a model in which the radiative neutrino (R\nu) masses are induced by fermion quintuplet and scalar septuplet fields from the minimal-dark-matter (MDM) setup. In conjunction with the 2HDM fields, on top of which our model is built, these hypercharge zero fields and additional scalar quintuplet lead to an accidental DM-protecting Z_2 symmetry and establish the R\nuMDM model at the three-loop level. Several observables for the deeply virtual Compton scattering process have been simulated in the kinematic regime of a proposed Electron-Ion Collider to explore the possible impact of such measurements for the phenomenological access of generalized parton distributions. In particular, emphasis is given to the transverse distribution of sea quarks and gluons and how such measurements can provide information on the angular momentum sum rule. The exact lepton energy loss dependence for the unpolarized $t$-differential electroproduction cross section, needed for a Rosenbluth separation, is also reported.

We consider a scenario in which TeV-scale particles belonging to weak-isospin multiplets higher than triplets lead to novel seesaw mechanisms different from conventional type I, II and III seesaw models. We utilize the DVCS asymmetry measurements of the HERMES collaboration for access to Compton form factors in the deeply virtual regime and to generalized parton distributions. In particular, the (almost) complete measurement of DVCS observables allows us to map various asymmetries into the space of Compton form factors, where we still rely in this analysis on dominance of twist-two associated Compton form factors. We propose a new seesaw model based on fermionic hypercharge zero weak quintuplet in conjunction with additional scalar quadruplet which attains an induced vev. The model provides both tree-level seesaw ~ v^6/M^5 and a loop-suppressed radiative ~ (1 / 16 \pi^2) v^2/M contributions to active neutrino masses. The empirical masses m_\nu ~ 10^{-1} eV can be achieved with M ~ TeV new states, accessible at the LHC. For 5 fb^{-1} of accumulated integrated luminosity at the LHC, there could be ~ 500 doubly-charged \Sigma^{++} or \bar{\Sigma^{++}} fermions with mass M_\Sigma = 400 GeV, leading to interesting multi-lepton signatures. The neutral component of the fermion quintuplet, previously identified as minimal dark matter candidate, becomes unstable in the proposed seesaw setup. We examine the stability of minimal dark matter (MDM) particle-candidates in the setup in which they participate in radiative neutrino (R\nu) masses. We first point out the existence of an additional renormalizable term in recently proposed R\nuMDM Lagrangian, which violates the claimed accidental Z_2 symmetry and spoils the stability of the fermionic MDM quintuplet component. We then explore the viability of R$\nu$MDM variants based on scalar MDM multiplets. We have generated a parametrization of the Compton form factor (CFF) H based on data from deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) using neural networks. This approach offers an essentially model-independent fitting procedure, which provides realistic uncertainties. Furthermore, it facilitates propagation of uncertainties from experimental data to CFFs. We assumed dominance of the CFF H and used HERMES data on DVCS off unpolarized protons. We study the LHC potential for discovering TeV-scale SU(2)_L 5-plet fermions introduced recently to explain small neutrino masses. We show that the Drell-Yan production and the decays of new exotic Sigma leptons are testable at the LHC. Their production is abundant due to nontrivial electroweak gauge charges. For 1 fb^-1 of integrated luminosity at the present LHC sqrt{s}=7 TeV, there can be 270 Sigma-Sigmabar pairs produced for M_Sigma = 400 GeV. Besides producing same-sign dilepton events, they could lead, due to a chosen small mixing between heavy and light leptons, to ~10 golden decays Sigma^{+++}(Sigma^{+++}-bar) --> W^\pm W^\pm l^\pm with a specific decay signature., Comment: 31 pages, 10 figures, corresponds to the PRD version

We discuss modeling of generalized parton distributions (GPDs), their access from present experiments, and the phenomenological potential of an electron-ion collider. We consider the Isgur-Wise function xi(omega) within a new modified version of a heavy-light chiral quark model. While early versions of such models gave too small absolute value of the slope, namely xi'(1) of about -0.4 to -0.3, we show how extended version(s) may lead to values around -1, in better agreement with recent measurements. This is obtained by introducing a new mass parameter in the heavy quark propagator. We analyze small-x DVCS data using flexible GPD models and compare our outcome with the full Shuvaev transformation. We point out that the full Shuvaev transform is a model that is equivalent to a conformal GPD and a minimalist ``dual'' parameterization. We give a partonic interpretation for the deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) measurements of the H1 and ZEUS collaborations in the small-x_B region in terms of generalized parton distributions. Thereby we have a closer look at the skewness effect, parameterization of the t-dependence, revealing the chromomagnetic pomeron, and at a model dependent access to the anomalous gravitomagnetic moment of nucleon. We also quantify the reparameterization of generalized parton distributions resulting from the inclusion of radiative corrections up to next-to-next-to-leading order. Beyond the leading order approximation, our findings are compatible with a `holographic' principle that would arise from a (broken) SO(2,1) symmetry. Utilizing our leading-order findings, we also perform a first model dependent dispersion relation fit of HERMES and JLAB DVCS measurements. To leading order approximation, the physical content of generalized parton distributions (GPDs) that is accessible in deep virtual electroproduction of photons or mesons is contained in their value on the cross-over trajectory. This trajectory separates the t-channel and s-channel dominated GPD regions. The underlying Lorentz covariance implies correspondence between these two regions through their relation to GPDs on the cross-over trajectory. This point of view leads to a family of GPD sum rules which are a quark analogue of finite energy sum rules and it guides us to a new phenomenological GPD concept. As an example, we discuss the constraints from the JLab/Hall A data on the dominant u-quark GPD H. We point out that the standard chromomagnetic penguin dipole operator has a counterpart corresponding to off-shell momenta for external quarks. By employing the chiral quark model, we show that this new dipole penguin operator has the same bosonisation as the standard Q_6 operator.
