We present the angular distribution of the four-fold $B\to\rho (\to\pi\pi)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ and $B\to a_{1}(\to\rho_{\parallel, \perp}\pi)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decays both in the Standard Model and the family non-universal $Z^{\prime}$ model. At the quark level, these decays are governed by the $b\to d\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ transition. Along with different angular observables, we also give predictions of differential branching ratios, forward-backward asymmetry, longitudinal polarization fraction of $\rho$, and $a_{1}$ mesons. Our analysis shows that the signatures of family non-universal $Z^{\prime}$ model are more distinct in the observables associated with the $B\to\rho(\to\pi\pi)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decay, compared to that of the $B\to a_{1}(\to\rho_{\parallel, \perp}\pi)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decay. We investigate the angular decay distribution of the four-fold $B_{c}\to D^{\ast}_{s}(\to D_{s}\gamma)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$, and $B_{c}\to D^{\ast}_{s}(\to D_{s}\pi)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decays that proceed through $b\to s\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ quark level transition. We use the model independent effective Hamiltonian with vector and axial vector new physics operators to formulate the angular observables and study the implications of different latest new physics scenarios, taken from the global fits to all the $b\to s$ data, on these observables. We also give Standard Model and new physics predictions of several observables such as differential branching ratios, forward backward asymmetry, longitudinal polarization fraction of $D_s^{\ast}$, and the unpolarized and polarized lepton flavor universality violating ratios. We study the Standard Model and the new physics predictions for the lepton-flavour-universality violating (LFUV) ratios in various $b\to s \ell^+\ell^-$ channels with scalar, pseudoscalar, vector, axial-vector, and $\Lambda$ baryon final states, considering both unpolarized and polarized final state hadrons. In order to formulate physical observables, we use the model independent effective Hamiltonian approach and employ the helicity formalism. We provide the explicit expressions of the helicity amplitudes in terms of the Wilson coefficients and the hadronic form factors by using the same kinematical configuration and polarization conventions for all the decay channels.We perform the numerical analysis with new physics scenarios selected from the recent global fits to $b\to s\ell^+\ell^-$ data, having specific new physics model interpretations. We find that some of the LFUV ratios for these complementary channels in different kinematical regions have high sensitivity to new physics and the future measurements of them in Belle II and LHCb experiments, along with testing new physics/LFUV, can help to distinguish among some of the different new physics possibilities., Comment: 42 pages, 6 figures, 13 tables; version accepted for publication in NPB

In this work, we perform a combined analysis of the $R(D)$, $R(D^*)$, and $R(J/\psi)$ anomalies in a model-independent manner based on the general framework of the four-fermion effective field theory, paying special attention to the use of the hadronic form factors. For the $B\to D(D^*)$ transition form factors, we use the HQET parametrization that includes the higher order corrections of $\mathcal{O}(\alpha_s,\Lambda_{\mathrm{QCD}}/m_{b,c})$ and was determined recently from a fit to lattice QCD and light-cone sum rule results in complementary kinematical regions of the momentum transfer. For the $B_c\to J/\psi(\eta_c)$ transitions, we use the form factors calculated in the covariant light-front quark model, which are found to be well consistent with the preliminary lattice results. With this particular treatment of hadronic matrix elements, in our analysis the two classes of vector operators are shown to be the most favored single new physics (NP) operators by the current experimental constraints within $2\sigma$ and the LEP1 data on $Br(B_c\to \tau\nu)$ as well as the minimum $\chi^2$ fit, while the tensor operator is also allowed but severely constrained, and the scalar ones are excluded. Using the favored ranges and fitted values of the Wilson coefficients of the single NP operators, we also give a prognosis for the physical observables such as the ratios of decay rates ($R(D(D^*)), R(J/\psi(\eta_c))$) and other polarized observables as well as the $q^2$ distributions., Comment: 15 pages, 8 figures, accepted for publication in Physical Review D

We compute couplings between the $\rho$-meson and $D$- and $D^\ast$-mesons - $D^{(\ast)}\rho D^{(\ast)}$ - that are relevant to phenomenological meson-exchange models used to analyse nucleon-$D$-meson scattering and explore the possibility of exotic charmed nuclei. Our framework is built from elements constrained by Dyson-Schwinger equation studies in QCD, and therefore expresses a consistent, simultaneous description of light- and heavy-quarks and the states they constitute, We find that all interactions, including the three independent $D^{\ast} \rho \,D^{\ast}$ couplings, differ markedly amongst themselves in strength and also in range, as measured by their evolution with $\rho$-meson virtuality. As a consequence, it appears that no single coupling strength or parametrization can realistically be employed in the study of interactions between $D^{(\ast)}$-mesons and matter., Comment: 8 pages, two figures, published version with some additional footnotes and references

The study of polarized branching ratio and different lepton polarization asymmeteries in the exclusive rare decays $B\rightarrow K^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=\mu , \tau$) have been made in the standard model (SM) and in type III of the THDM. It has been found that the effects arise from the THDM are quite promising in the longitudinal and transverse polarized branching ratios $(\mathcal{B}_{L, T})$. Likewise, in case of $\mu$'s as final state leptons, the polarized branching ratios have an order of magnitude difference from their SM results. Similar trends have also been observed both in the longitudinal and normal lepton polarization asymmetries $P_{L, N}$ as well as their average values. We study the electromagnetic form factors, decay constants and charge radii of the pion and kaon within the framework of light-front field theory formalism where we use an ansatz for the quark-meson interaction bound-state function which is symmetric under exchange of quark and antiquark momentum. The above mentioned observables are evaluated for the $+$ component of the electromagnetic current, $J^+$, in the Breit frame. We also check the invariance of these observables in other frames, whereby both the valance and the non-valence contributions have to be taken into account, and study the sensitivity of the electromagnetic form factors and charge radius to the model's parameters; namely, the quark masses, $m_u=m_d$, $m_{\bar s}$, and the regulator mass, $m_R$. It is found that after a fine tuning of the regulator mass, i.e. $m_R=0.6$ GeV, the model is suitable to fit the available experimental data within the theoretical uncertainties of both the pion and kaon., Comment: 8 pages, 8 figures, use revtex, submitted to Phy. Long distance effects are studied in the rare exclusive semileptonic $B_{(d,s)}\to V \ell^+ \ell^-$ decays, where $V$ denotes a $K^*$ or $\phi$ meson. The form factors, which describe the meson transition amplitudes in the effective Hamiltonian approach, are calculated by means of Ward identities, experimental constraints and extrapolated within a general vector meson dominance framework. These form factors are then compared to the ones obtained in Lattice QCD simulations, with Light Cone Sum Rules and a Dyson-Schwinger equation approach. Additionally, the $B_d\to K^* \ell^+ \ell^-$ and $B_s\to \phi \ell^+ \ell^- $ branching ratios are computed and the differential branching fractions are given as a function of the squared-momentum transfer., Comment: 10 pages, 3 figures

By comparing successful quark-gluon vertex interaction models with the corresponding interaction extracted from lattice-QCD data on the quark's propagator, we identify common qualitative features which could be important to tune future interaction models beyond the rainbow ladder approximation. Clearly, a quantitative comparison is conceptually not simple, but qualitatively the results suggest that a realistic interaction should be relatively broad with a strong support at about $0.4-0.6$~GeV and infrared-finite.

We investigate the exclusive rare baryonic $\Lambda_{b}\to\Lambda\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ in a family non-universal $Z^{\prime}$ model, which is one of the natural extension of standard model. Using transition form factors, calculated in the framework of light cone QCD sum rules, we analyze the effects of polarized and unpolarized CP violation asymmetries for the said decay. Our results indicate that the value of unpolarized and polarized CP-violation asymmetries are considerable in both $\Lambda_{b}\to\Lambda\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ and $\Lambda_{b}\to\Lambda\tau^{+}\tau^{-}$ channels and hence they give clear indication of new physics arising from the neutral $Z^{\prime}$ gauge boson. The effects of new neutral $Z^\prime$ boson in $B_{s}\to\phi\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$, when $\phi$ is longitudinal or transverse polarized, are studied. In addition, the implications of $Z^{\prime}$ boson on the unpolarized and polarized $CP$ violation asymmetries, with reference to lepton, are also presented. It is observed that the branching ratio with polarized $\phi$ are quite sensitive to the $Z^{\prime}$ contributions which are coming through the modification of Wilson coefficients $C^{eff}_{9}$ and $C_{10}$. Moreover, the off-diagonal elements of the chiral $Z^{\prime}$ couplings contain new weak phase $\phi_{sb}$ that provide a new source of $CP$ violation. Keeping in view that in the FCNC transitions the $CP$ violation asymmetries are highly suppressed in the SM, we have studied the unpolarized and polarized $CP$ violation asymmetries in $B_{s}\to\phi\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ decays. Our results indicate that these $CP$ violation asymmetries are remarkably significant and can attribute the any new physics coming through the $Z^{\prime}$ boson. A comprehensive study of the impact of new-physics on different observables for $B_{s}\to \phi \ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ has been done. We examine the new physics models such as $Z^{\prime}$ and UED models, where the effects of new physics coming through the modification of Wilson coefficients. We have analyzed these effects through the theoretical prediction of the branching ratio, the forward-backward asymmetry, lepton polarization asymmetries and the helicity fractions of the final state meson. These all observables will definitely be measured in present and future colliders with great precision. We also pointed out that hadronic uncertainties in various physical observables are small which make them an ideal probe to establish new physics. The implication of the fourth-generation quarks in the B -> K^*l^+l^- (l=mu,tau) decays, when K^* meson is longitudinally or transversely polarized, is presented. In this context, the dependence of the branching ratio with polarized K^* and the helicity fractions (f_{L,T}) of K^* meson are studied. It is observed that the polarized branching ratios as well as helicity fractions are sensitive to the NP parameters, especially when the final state leptons are tauons. A comparative study of the exclusive rare $B_{c}\rightarrow D_{s}^{\ast}\ell^{+}\ell^{-}$ ($\ell=\mu, \tau$) decays has been made in the minimal supersymmetric models (MSSM) and the SUSY SO(10) GUT models. In this context, various physical observables such as branching ratios $(\mathcal{BR})$, forward-backward asymmetries $(\mathcal{A}_{FB})$, lepton polarization asymmetries $(P_{L,N,T})$ and helicity fractions ($f_{L,T}$) of $D_{s}^{\ast}$ meson by using the the QCD sum rules form factors have been investigated. It is found that the SUSY effects are characteristically prominent to that of the SM values for these observables. For instance, in SUSY I and SUSY II, the forward-backward asymmetry does not cross zero which is mainly due to the same sign of the $C_{7}^{eff}$ and $C_{9}^{eff}$ Wilson coefficients. Similarly in SUSY SO(10) GUT models due to the complex nature of the new Wilson coefficients -- corresponding to the new operators arising due to the contribution of neutral Higgs bosons (NHBs) -- the above mentioned observables are sizably affected. Therefore the analysis of said observables in charmed semileptonic $B$ meson decays can put some stringent constraints on the parameter space of SUSY variants and can serve as a windowpane to look beyond the SM., Comment: 32 pages, 7 figures, v3 some typos removed and discussion improved on FBA

The weak decays of B_{c} --> D_{s}^{*}l^{+}l^{-} (l=mu,tau) are investigated in the Standard Model with fourth generation (SM4). Taking fourth generation quark mass m_{t'} of about 300 to 600 GeV with the CKM matrix elements V_{t'b}^{*}V_{t's} in the range (0.03-1.2)*10^{-2} and using the new CP odd phase (phi_{sb}) to be 90^{o} the analysis of decay rates, forward-backward asymmetries, lepton polarization asymmetries and the helicity fractions of D_{s}^{*} meson in B_{c} --> D_{s}^{*}l^{+}l^{-} (l=mu,tau) is made. It is shown that the values of these physical observables are greatly influenced by the effects of extra sequential quark generation in the SM. It is found that the zero position of the forward-backward asymmetry in B_{c} --> D_{s}^{*} mu^{+} mu^{-} deviates significantly from that of the SM value while the effects in the decay rate, helicity fractions of D_s^{*} meson and the lepton polarization asymmetries are also quite promising. In B_{c} --> D_{s}^{*} tau^{+} tau^{-} decay, the SM4 the NP effects are somewhat mild in the decay rate and forward-backward asymmetry but they have shown them up in the longitudinal and transverse lepton polarization and also in the helicity fractions of the D_{s}^{*} meson which differ distinctively from the SM values. Thus the study of these physical observables will provide us useful information to probe new physics and helps us to search for the fourth generation of quarks (t',b') in an indirect way., Comment: 28 pages, 14 figures, color figures with small corrections

The implications of the fourth generation quarks in the B-->K_{1}(1270,1400)l^{+}l^{-} with l=mu, tau decays are studied, where the mass eigenstates K_{1}(1270) and K_{1}(1400) are the mixture of ^{1}{P}_{1} and ^{3}{P}_{1} states with the mixing angle \theta_{K}. In this context, we have studied various observables like branching ratio (BR), forward backward asymmetry (A_{FB}) and longitudinal and transverse helicity fractions (f_{L,T}) of K_{1} meson in B-->K_{1}l^{+}l^{-} decays. To study these observables, we have used the Light Cone QCD sum rules form factors and set the mixing angle \theta_{K}=-34^{o}. It is noticed that the BR is suppressed for K_{1}(1400) as a final state meson compared to that of K_{1}(1270). Same is the case when the final state leptons are tauons rather than muons. In both the situations all the above mentioned observables are quite sensitive to the fourth generation effects. Hence the measurements of these observables at LHC, for the above mentioned processes can serve as a good tool to investigate the indirect searches for the existence of fourth generation quarks., Comment: 17 pages, 14 figures, resembles with the PRD published version

Form factors parameterizing the semileptonic decay $B_{c}\rightarrow D_{s}^{\ast}l^{+}l^{-}$ ($l=\mu ,\tau $) are calculated using the frame work of Ward Identities. These form factors are then used to calculate the physical observables like branching ratio and helicity fractions of final state $D_{s}^{\ast}$ meson in these decay modes. The analysis is then extended to the the universal extra dimension (UED) model where the dependence of above mentioned physical variables to the compactification radius R, the only unknown parameter in UED model, is studied. It is shown that the helicity fractions of $D_{s}^{\ast}$ are quite sensitive to the UED model especially when have muons as the final state lepton. The sensitivity of the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry $\mathcal{A}_{FB}$ for the exclusive $B\rightarrow K_{1}(1270)\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ decay is examined by using most general non-standard 4-fermion interactions. Our analysis shows that the zero position of the forward backward asymmetry is very sensitive to the sign and size of the Wilson coefficients corresponding to the new vector type interactions, which are the counter partners of the usual Standard Model operators but have opposite chirality. In addition to these, the other significant effect comes from the interference of Scalar-Pseudoscalar and Tensor type operators. Decay rate and forward-backward asymmetries in B -> K_{1} l^{+} l ^{-}, K_{1} is the axial vector meson, are calculated in the universal extra dimension (UED) model. The dependence of these physical quantities on the compactification radius $R$, the only unknown parameter in UED model, is studied and it is shown that zero of forward-backward asymmetry is sensitive to the UED model, therefore they can be very useful tool to establish new physics predicted by the UED model.
