The article considers the COVID-19 vaccination program of the University of Florida in the campus and in the surrounding region. Topics discussed include the capacity of the university to conduct a COVID-19 vaccine campaign in light of its expertise and infrastructure, significance of the campaign to the value of higher education, and health challenges facing the students and local community due to the reputation of the state as being open for business and tourism during the pandemic.
