In the context of the man-made burden on the natural environment, the issues of developing civil engineering students' environmental awareness are important and particularly relevant to low environmental security countries, which include Ukraine. The authors emphasize the need for broad implementation of the Concept of Sustainable Development in professional training of civil engineering students, determine the level of their environmental awareness, compare the levels of formation of environmental awareness components, and pursue to identify effective ways to environmentalize engineering training. The study involved the students of Donbas National Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture. The authors selected the semi-structured questionnaire method combining rating, Likert and importance scales, alternative and unstructured questions, as well as elements of the Azapagic and the Naturafil techniques. The results did not prove the formation level of the civil engineering students' environmental awareness to be unsatisfactory. It was also found that the civil engineering students have steady environmental beliefs and are willing to comply with environmental norms in their activities. This fact brought the authors to the conclusion that the current practice of higher technical education in Ukraine takes account of sustainable development. The level of the civil engineering students' environmental knowledge was also determined as sufficient, while their environmental activity and environmental management skills were seen as low. According to the authors, the use of integrated and practice-oriented approaches to teaching professional subjects and the introduction of environmental topics into general education subjects will contribute to strengthened environmentalization of professional training of civil engineers.

The article reveals the problem of empirical research of training higher education institutions teachers in the context of the master's degree programme. This study specifies and adapts the methods of diagnostics, criteria for conducting teacher training which are reasonable, psychologically and pedagogically approved and could be implemented in the institutions of higher education of different profiles. It was found out that the training of a teacher within the boundaries of the master's degree programme of institutions of higher education is an actual task of three-level training of a specialist in Ukraine and requires a differentiated approach for institutions of higher education of various profiles. The components of the programme, based on their comparative characteristics, the status of teacher training in higher education institutions of different profiles with the application of certain criteria, indicators and levels were determined. Comparative analysis of the results of determining the levels of activity empathy and pedagogical reflection formation at the final stage of the study showed objective differences in teacher training in the context of the master's degree programme of institutions of higher education of different profiles. The perspective directions of the problem under consideration are the study of the didactic conditions of effective teacher training for the master's degree in higher education and the development of the concept of master's training in higher education institutions on this basis, the analysis of the influence of the main factors on the formation of a teacher of a higher educational institution in the context of a master's degree programme, in the profile professional training.

This article, from the "Journal of College Admission's" Special Diversity Issue, which in its entirety has won the 1997 Muir Award, discusses various misconceptions regarding individuals with multiple learning disabilities and whether or not these individuals should consider college as an option. The author contends that students with learning disabilities have both strengths and weaknesses. While they may learn in unique ways, these differences do not imply that their capacity to learn is inferior. Therefore, it is not necessary to dilute the curriculum to assist these students, but to work with them to identify what accommodations are necessary to help them be successful. Learning disabilities are not curable, but there are many instructional interventions and compensatory strategies that can be used to help those with disabilities to master the coursework. In the article the comparative analysis of pedagogical technologies in the USA has been carried out in the context of future agrarians' multicultural education. The essence of traditional and innovative pedagogical technologies and the peculiarities of their realization at higher educational establishments have been viewed. The expediency of developing the pedagogical technology of forming future agrarians' multicultural competence has been reasoned. The classification of pedagogical technologies has been presented according to the level of application; the philosophical basis; the scientific conception of mastering the experience; the orientation on personality's structures; the nature of modernisation of the traditional teaching system. The possibility of their determination is also considered due to the aims and tasks, the organizational forms, the dominant methods of teaching, the approaches to the personality, the category of students, the type of cognitive activity's organization and management. The special attention is paid to two directions of the education's development--traditional and innovative. The educational process in the American post-industrial, inform society and its attributive characteristics are substantially determined by a personality factor, and pushing off from this, the value of personality must serve as an initial moment in organizing the system of higher professional education. The practical aspects of implementing the traditional pedagogical technology, the technology of developing teaching, the programmable teaching technology, the problem-solving teaching technology, the module teaching technology, the concentrated teaching technology and the distance teaching technology are viewed.
