The article presents the findings of study conducted by Douglas County Health Department (DCHD) and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (NDHHS) into the outbreak of histoplasmosis among attendees of a city day camp, organized on June 2012, in Nebraska. It explains histoplasmosis and its symptoms and transmission. It discusses the methodology used in the investigation and testing histoplasma. It informs that the health departments also offer suggestions to city parks and recreation division regarding preserving their sites from bat roosting, biohazardous contamination.
