In the last decades, the biographical study has undergone a renewal, attracting the attention of researchers to the study of the subject as a possibility of research and tessitura of the historical narrative. Following this trail, it is proposed in this paper to discuss the reappropriations, by historical narrative, of the images produced about Father Marcos de Araújo Costa, one of the most important politicians of the North of the Empire, in the first half of the nineteenth century, however , remembered by historiography, above all, for his work as an educator. It is understood, however, that this memory constructed by the Piauí historiography on the Father like "well-educated educator" does not account for the complexity of its social and political action. This (re) created memory, which manufactures and diffuses the story about this subject, represents a production marked by the social place of its producers who, through biographies and chronicles, have created a written memory that concentrates their discussions only on the educational character of Father Marcos. This production has built a memory that moves the subject from the complexity that surrounded him by creating, through the narrated history, a space of fiction that, more than to describe, realizes a movement that (re) creates the subject as an educator. This knowledge produced on Father Marcos was able to construct, in the narrative, a memory that was transmitted to other writings, transforming spaces, attributing values and meanings different from those of the trajectory he traveled. Therefore, reflecting on Father Marcos, his political and educational activities, as well as the ways built by Piauí historiography to represent and inscribe him as one of the most prominent educators of the nineteenth century, represent the objects of analysis of the present study, which uses as theoretical support the studies of Michel de Certeau and Jacques Revel.

Dispostos em 370 fogos, a Lista apresenta características qualitativas sobre a população, o que torna a "Lista do Vigário" um documento sui generis. This article has the purpose to publish a population list did at 1819 by Vicar of the Freguesia de Franca/SP, the priest Joaquim Martins Rodrigues. They are dispose in 370 "fires", the list presents qualities characters about the populations, that become the "Vicar List" a sui generis document.

In recent decades, the biographical study has undergone a renovation and drew the attention of researchers to study the subject as possible and research fabric of historical narrative. Following this path, it’s proposed, in present study, discuss about the reappropriations, by the historical narrative, the images produced about Priest Marcos de Araújo Costa, one of the most important politicians of Northern Empire, in the first half of the nineteenth century, however, remembered by history, especially for his work as educator. It’s believed, however, that memory built by Piauiense historiography about Priest as "meritorious educator" does not contemplate the complexity of his social and political activity. This memory (re) created, which manufactures and distributes a story on this subject, represents a production marked by the social position of their producers, through biographies and chronicles, have created a memory writing that their discussions focused only on the educational character of Priest Marcos. This production has built a memorial that displaces the subject of such complexity that the circled to create, for storytelling, an area of fiction that, rather than describe, perform a movement to (re)creates the subject as an educator. This knowledge produced about Priest Marcos was able to build in the narrative, a memoir that is transmitted to other writings, turning spaces, assigning different values and meanings to the path traveled. So think about Priest Marcos, political and educational activity, as well as the ways constructed by Piauiense historiography to represent him and insert him as one of the most prominent educators of the nineteenth century, constitute the objects of analyzing of this study, which uses as theoretical bases the studies by Michel de Certeau and Jacques Revel. Nas últimas décadas, o estudo biográfico tem sofrido uma renovação, despertando a atenção de pesquisadores para o estudo do sujeito como possibilidade de pesquisa e tessitura da narrativa histórica. Seguindo essa trilha, propõe-se, no presente escrito, discutir sobre as reapropriações, pela narrativa histórica, das imagens produzidas acerca de Padre Marcos de Araújo Costa, um dos mais importantes políticos do Norte do Império, na primeira metade do século XIX, todavia, lembrado pela historiografia, sobretudo, por seu trabalho como educador. Entende-se, no entanto, que essa memória construída pela historiografia piauiense sobre o Padre como “benemérito educador” não dá conta da complexidade de sua atuação social e política. Esta memória (re)criada, que fabrica e difunde a história sobre esse sujeito, representa uma produção marcada pelo lugar social de seus produtores que, por meio de biografias e crônicas, criaram uma memória escrita que concentra suas discussões apenas no caráter educacional de Padre Marcos. Essa produção construiu uma memória que desloca o referido sujeito da complexidade que o circundou ao criar, pela história narrada, um espaço de ficção que, mais que descrever, realiza um movimento que (re)cria o sujeito como educador. Esse conhecimento produzido sobre Padre Marcos foi capaz de construir, na narrativa, uma memória que se transmitiu a outros escritos, transformando espaços, atribuindo valores e significados diferentes aos da trajetória por ele percorrida. Portanto, refletir acerca de Padre Marcos, sua atuação política e educacional, bem como das maneiras construídas pela historiografia piauiense para representá-lo e inscrevê-lo como um dos mais proeminentes educadores do século XIX, representam os objetos de análises do presente estudo, que utiliza como suporte teórico os estudos de Michel de Certeau e de Jacques Revel.

The present text analyzes the romance Letícia (1908), published by the writer ofBahia Anna Ribeiro of Araújo Góes Bittencourt (1843-1930), in the perspective of the NewCultural History. The social types enrolled in their characters and the described atmospheres in a detailed way, they reveal the representations, the fears, the values and the longings of the elite of the Bay area from Bahia in the ends of the century XIX. It is made a crossing of the literature produced by the author with the sources and the pertinent bibliographical references to the period, besides the mention the some readings which Anna Ribeiro had access. A crossed reading between Letícia and The Father Tomás' Hut (1852) she reveals that Anna Ribeiro rediscussed the relative subjects to the slavery, the abolition and to the present powder-abolition in the prose of Harriet B. Stowe, besides enrolling some present models in the imaginary elegant under a paternalist optics, without however, to leave of representing the contradictions of that ideology., O presente texto analisa o romance Letícia (1908), de autoria de Anna Ribeiro de Araújo Góes Bittencourt (1843-1930), na perspectiva da Nova História Cultural. Os tipossociais inscritos em seus personagens e os ambientes descritos de forma detalhada revelam as representações, os medos, os valores e os anseios da elite do Recôncavo baiano nos fins do século XIX. É feito um cruzamento da literatura produzida pela autora, com as fontes e as referências bibliográficas pertinentes ao período, além da menção a algumas leituras às quais Anna Ribeiro teve acesso. Um cruzamento entre Letícia e A Cabana do Pai Tomás (1852) revela que Anna Ribeiro rediscutiu as questões relativas à escravidão, a abolição e ao pósabolição presente na prosa de Harriet B. Stowe, além de inscrever alguns modelos do imaginário senhorial, sob uma ótica paternalista, sem contudo, deixar de representar as contradições dessa ideologia.
