Abstract

The use of continuous flow systems in chemical synthesis provides great advantages in terms of sustainability, efficiency, and safety. The ability to control reaction parameters such as temperature, pressure, and catalyst exposure in flow system enables rapid optimization of reaction conditions. In the present study, palladium complexes of 1‐(piridin‐2‐il)‐1H‐benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol, N‐((1H‐benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol‐1‐il)metil)piridin‐2‐amin, and (1H‐benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol‐1‐yl)(pyridin‐2‐yl)methanone ligands were synthesized and characterized. The catalytic activities of complexes are investigated in the hydrogenation of various alkenes such as styrene, cyclohexene, and 1‐octene under continuous flow conditions. The complexes showed very high activity at 10‐bar H2 pressure and 50°C for short periods of 5–10 min. The catalysts reused for 10 cycles with no significant loss of catalytic activity. Abstract

The hydrogenation activity of new N-acyl-benzotriazole Rh(I) and Ru(III) complexes in ionic liquid media is reported in this study. Both complexes were completely soluble in 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, [bmim][BF4], and they were able to catalyze the hydrogenation of styrene and 1-octene. While ethylbenzene conversion in styrene hydrogenation reached 84% when the Ru complex was used, 100% conversion was obtained with the Rh complex at 393 K in 6 h. Additionally, total conversion in 1-octene hydrogenation reached 100% with the Rh complex in [bmim][BF4] media. The hydrogenation of styrene and 1-octene in dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and toluene was also studied to compare the solvent effect on catalytic system. The effect of some catalytic parameters such as temperature, H2 (g) pressure, and catalyst amount on the conversion was examined, and it was found that the conversion increased parallel to the increasing temperature and H2 pressure. Abstract

Abstract: Pd(II) complexes with the tridentate ligands heptadecafluorodecyl-thiophene-2-carboxylate (L 1 =SOSRf1, Rf1 =(CH2)2(CF2)7CF3) and heptadecafluorononil thiophene-2-carboxylate (L 2 =SOORf2, Rf2 =(CH2)(CF2)7CF3) have been synthesized, and their catalytic activities for the homogeneous hydrogenation of olefins have been studied with molecular hydrogen in scCO2 and organic solvents. Both perfluoroalkylated-heterocycle ligands potentially have three donor atom sets (SOO/SOS). Depending on the soft-hard interaction between palladium and the donor atoms of the ligands, different activities for the Pd(II) complexes were observed. The nature of the solvent had an effect upon the hydrogenation of olefins. The effects of temperature and H2 pressure on the hydrogenation of styrene were also investigated. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]

Abstract

WOS: 000407535000106, Palladium complexes of N-acylbenzotriazole derivative ligands were synthesized and characterized. The catalytic activities of complexes of ([PdLl (OAc)(2)] and [PdL2(OAc)(2)]) were investigated in relation to hydrogenation reactions of styrene, 1-octene and cyclohexene in [bmim][BF4] as greener reaction media 100% ethyl benzene conversion was obtained with both complexes in 1 h reaction time. Additionally, 100% 1-octene conversion was reached within the same period of time with [PdL2(OAc)(2)] complex. In cyclohexene hydrogenation, product formation reached up to 67% at 363 K with [PdLl (OAc)(2)] complex. Reusability tests were conducted under the highest product conversion conditions, and both catalysts were found to be efficient up to 5 cycles for all substrates. WOS: 000267330300055, A fluoroalkene-soluble tetrakis[heptadecafluorononyl]-substituted Pd(II)-phthalocyanine complex has been studied for olefin (styrene, 1-octene, trans-2-octene and cyclohexene) hydrogenation with molecular hydrogen in an organic/fluorous biphasic system [n-hexane/perfluoromethyl cyclohexane (PFMCH)]. The palladium complex was found to be an active catalyst for styrene (100% conversion, TON = 634) and 1-octene (92%, TON = 596) at 80 degrees C and 15 bar of H-2 after 6 h of reaction time. Tez (yüksek lisans) - Anadolu Üniversitesi, Anadolu Üniversitesi, Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü, Kimya Anabilim Dalı, Kayıt no: 241550, Bu tez çalışmasında perfloroalkil gruplarıyla [(CH2)n(CF2)7CF3 n=1,2] modifiye edilmiş tiyofen ligandları (heptadekaflorodekil-tiyofen-2-karbotiyoat, (L1), heptadekaflorononil-tiyofen-2-karboksilat, (L2)) ve bunların Rh(I) ve Pd(II) metalleri ile reaksiyonları sonucu yeni nesil reaksiyon ortamlarından skCO2’de çözünebilen dört farklı katalizör sentezlenmiştir. Sentezlenen komplekslerin farklı kimyasal çevreye sahip olefinlerin hidrojenasyon reaksiyonları üzerine katalitik etkileri çalışılmıstır. Hidrojenasyon çalışmaları için stiren, 1-okten ve siklohekzen substratları seçilerek sıcaklık değişiminin katalitik reaksiyona etkisi incelenmiştir. skCO2 ortamında gerçeklestirilen hidrojenasyon tepkimeleri benzer sartlar altında organik çözücü ortamında da tekrarlanarak çevre dostu skCO2’in organik çözücülere alternatif bir reaksiyon ortamı olduğu gösterilmiştir. Çalışmada sentezlenen katalizörlerin özellikle stiren ve 1-okten hidrojenasyonlarında oldukça etkin oldukları tespit edilmiştir.
