Özlü kaynak telleri, yapısal ve boru hattı kaynağı, gemi yapımı, açık deniz inşaatları, petrokimya ve enerji üretim endüstrilerinde oldukça yaygın bir şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Çok pasolu kaynaklarda yüksek ısı girdileri, daha kısa üretim sürelerine neden olurken, kaynaklı birleştirmenin özelliklerini de önemli ölçüde değiştirmektedir. Bu çalışmada, yapısal çeliklerin kaynaklı birleştirmelerde ısı girdisinin kaynak mikroyapısı, sertlik, çekme özellikleri ve darbe tokluğu üzerindeki etkisini belirlemek için değişen ısı girdileriyle (0,56-2,52 kJ/mm arasında) robotik özlü özlü ark kaynağı yapılmıştır. Sonuçlar, ısı girdisinin 2.52’den 0.56 kJ/mm’e düşmesi ile mikro yapının genelinin poligonal ferritten asiküler ferrite dönüştüğünü göstermiştir. Bu da akma mukavemeti, çekme mukavemeti ve sertlik değerlerinde sırasıyla %56, %37 ve %47'lik bir artışa neden olurken, uzama ve Charpy darbe testi sonuçlarında sırasıyla %30 ve %15'lik bir düşüşe neden olmuştur. Ayrıca, kaynaklı birleştirmelerin tümünde -50 °C'lik test sıcaklığında bile istenen 47 J değerinden oldukça yüksek tokluk değerleri elde edilmiştir. Son olarak, AWS A5.20 standardının minimum gereksinimleri ve uygulamalardaki beklentiler dikkate alındığında optimum sonuçların 1,26 kJ/mm ısı girdisi ile elde edildiği sonucuna varılmıştır., Flux-cored wires are commonly used in structural and pipeline welding, shipbuilding, offshore constructions, and petrochemical and power generation industries. The higher heat inputs in the multipass welding result in shorter production time while considerably changing the properties of the welded joint. In this study, robotic flux cored arc welding with varying heat inputs (between 0.56-2.52 kJ/mm) was performed to determine the effect of heat input on weld microstructure, hardness, tensile properties, and impact toughness in the structural steel joints. Results exhibited that decrease in heat input from 2.52 to 0.56 kJ/mm changed the majority of the microstructure from polygonal ferrite to acicular ferrite. Furthermore, this increased by 56%, 37%, and 47% in yield strength, tensile strength, and hardness values, respectively, while decreasing by 30% and 15% in elongation and Charpy impact test results, respectively. Moreover, all welded joints displayed a satisfying toughness value higher than the requested value of 47 J, even at the test temperature of -50 °C. Finally, it can be concluded that the optimum results were obtained with a heat input of 1.26 kJ/mm, considering the minimum requirements of the AWS A5.20 standard and the expectations in applications.

Shape memory alloys’ characteristics are different from ordinary materials because they can memorize their pre-determined shape, thus they are excellent candidates for different applications. In this review article, the most interesting parameters that researchers are using in their investigation have been highlighted. Also, the popular techniques used for the characterization of shape memory alloys have been described. The diagrams and sketches can show a clear view of metallurgies and related research areas.

The main limitation of the Equal Channel Angular Pressing (ECAP) is the very high required punching force for pushing the metallic sample to next channel. Frictional forces in ECAP process are responsible for very high required punching force. The participation of exit and entrance channels in total friction force has not been studied experimentally hitherto. Through the current study, two ECAP dies (1) with two channels (normal ECAP die) and (2) with only one channel (the exit channel was missed) were manufactured. Three-dimensional finite element analysis was conducted. The effect of the exit channel on the total punching force, sample geometry, and grain refinement rate were investigated experimentally and numerically. According to the results, the exit channel has a considerable effect on the amount of minimum required punching force and the grain refinement in ECAP process. The comparisons showed that, the trend of the results from experimental investigations were in good agreement with numerical analysis., Eşit Kanal Açısal Preslemenin (EKAP) temel sınırlaması, metal numuneyi kalıbın içine itmek için gereken yüksek zımbalama kuvvetidir. Gerekli yüksek zımbalama kuvvetinden EKAP sürecindeki sürtünme kuvvetleri sorumludur. Çıkış ve giriş kanallarının toplam sürtünme kuvvetine katılımı şimdiye kadar deneysel olarak incelenmemiştir. Bu çalışma sayesinde, iki kanallı (normal EKAP kalıbı) ve yalnızca bir kanallı (çıkış kanalı yok) olmak üzere iki EKAP kalıbı (1) (2) üretilmiştir. Üç boyutlu sonlu elemanlar analizi yapılmıştır. Çıkış kanalının toplam zımbalama kuvveti, numune geometrisi ve tane inceltme oranı üzerindeki etkisi deneysel ve sayısal olarak incelenmiştir. Sonuçlar, çıkış kanalının, EKAP sürecinde gerekli asgari zımbalama kuvveti miktarı ve tane inceltme üzerinde önemli bir etkiye sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Yapılan karşılaştırmalar, deneysel araştırmaların sonuçlarının sayısal analiz ile uyumlu olduğunu göstermiştir.

This study consisted of the effects of vertical tool load on failure value in FSSW of CuZn30. Tensile-shear test, microstructural examination, microhardness, vertical tool load, and temperature measurements were utilized to reveal the influence of FSSW process. According to the results, the tool load plays a key role on the features of joint. Not only low tool load, but also excessive load used leads to drop in the tensile-shear values. The spot weld region was characterized by stir and heat-affected zones and these have various microhardness values ranging from 108.2 HV to 150.2 HV. The temperature measurements show that the peak temperature increased with increasing tool load value.Keywords: FSSW, brass alloy, vertical tool load, tensile-shear failure load

Steels can be expressed as iron-carbon alloy. The alloy element can be sorted by deformation, such as heat treatment and rolling. The amount of carbon increases the strength up to a certain rate in steel. Regulating the strength of the steel for alloy elements affects by precipitate or changing the phases in the microstructure. Microalloyed steels can be defined as low alloyed multi-strength steels with resistance-enhancing mechanisms such as precipitate hardening, grain size reduction, such as aluminum, niobium, vanadium and titanium in the range of 0.05% and 0.20%.This arrangement is designed with the addition of niobium and vanadium elements into the Fe matrix, by applying mechanical alloying method for different times, microalloyed steels are produced by powder metallurgy method. After microstructure analysis, tensile testing of micro alloy steel samples of different chemical composition prepared in tensile sample sizes was performed. Elongation, yield-tensile strength of the samples are explained depending on microstructural changes. While the yield and tensile strength increased due to the increasing amount of alloys, an increase in% elongation was observed. Maximum flow and tensile strength is provided by mechanical alloying for 15 minutes., Çelikler demir karbon alaşımı olarak ifade edilebilir. Mikroalaşımlı çelikler ise % 0.05 ve % 0.20 aralığında alüminyum, niyobyum, vanadyum ve titanyum gibi mikroalaşım elementileri ilave edilerek çökelti sertleşmesi, tane boyutu küçültme gibi dayanımı arttıran mekanizmalar ile düşük alaşımlı yüksek dayanımlı çelikler olarak tanımlanabilir.Bu çalışmada Fe matris içerisine niyobyum ve vanadyum elementlerinin ilavesiyle istenilen bileşimde farklı sürelerde mekanik alaşımlama yöntemi uygulanarak toz metalürjisi yöntemiyle mikroalaşımlı çelikler üretilmiştir. Mikroyapı analizinden sonra çekme numunesi boyutlarında hazırlanan farklı kimyasal bileşimdeki mikroalaşımlı çelik numunelere çekme testi uygulanmıştır. Numunelerin % uzama, akma-çekme dayanımları, mikroyapısal değişimlere bağlı olarak açıklanmıştır. Akma ve çekme dayanımları artan alaşım miktarına bağlı olarak artış sergilerken % uzama değerleri düşüş gözlenmiştir. Maximum akma ve çekme dayanımı 15 dakika yapılan mekanik alaşımlama ile sağlanmıştır.

Bu çalışmada, otomotiv sanayinde kullanılan ST 6222 ve DP600 saclarına lazer kaynağı uygulanmış ve farklı kaynak parametrelerinin mikroyapı ve mekanik özelliklere etkisi araştırılmıştır. Temel parametreler esas alınarak yapılan lazer kaynağının malzemelerin kaynak dikişine, kaynak kesitine ve sertliğine etkisi araştırılmıştır. Bu çalışmada 25x150 mm ebatlarında 2,0 mm kalınlığındaki parçalar kaynak yapıldıktan sonra mikrosertlik değerleri, 50 gr yük ile kaynak kesiti üzerinden esas metal, ısı tesiri altındaki bölge (ITAB) ve ergime bölgelerinden üç ayrı nokta alınarak ölçülmüştür. Sonuçlar incelendiğinde kaynak ilerleme hızının artması birleşmenin sertlik dağılımında düzensizlikler ve hem kaynak dikiş genişliğinde hem de kaynak nüfuziyetinde bir azalma bulunmuştur. Ancak lazer gücünün artması ile kaynak dayanımında, kaynak dikişinin genişliğinde ve kaynak nüfuziyetinde bir artış gözlemlenmiştir., In this study, laser welding was applied to ST 6222 and DP600 sheets used in the automotive industry and the effects of different welding parameters on microstructure and mechanical properties were investigated. The effect of laser welding made on the basis of basic parameters on the welding seam, welding cross section and hardness of the materials was investigated. In this study, after welding 25x150 mm sized parts with a thickness of 2.0 mm, microhardness values were measured by 50 g load and three different points from the main metal, heat affected zone (HAZ) and melting regions over the welding section. When the results are examined, it has been found that the welding feed rate is increased, irregularities in the hardness distribution of the joint and a decrease in both the weld seam width and the weld penetration. However, with the increase of laser power, an increase in weld strength, width of the weld seam and weld penetration has been observed.
