The man accused of killing a Chinese student in Montreal, dismembering his body and mailing parts of it to Canadian political parties and two schools pleaded not guilty to murder on Tuesday. The suspect, Luka Rocco Magnotta, was returned to Montreal on Monday from Berlin, where he was captured two weeks ago. He appeared in court by way of a video link from an undisclosed police detention center. His lawyer said he would ask the court on Thursday to order a psychiatric evaluation to determine if his client could be held criminally responsible. [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
