A personal narrative is presented which explores the author's experience of being highlighting two features from the May/June 2022 issue of Online Searcher, and the first takes a look at the potential comeback of the news librarian profession.

The article focuses on how Google Inc. help librarians do their jobs better and easier based on the article from the March/April issue of "Marketing Library Services (MLS)" and one from the May/ June issue of Online Searcher. Communications specialist at Mead Public Library in Wisconsin, Josh Lintereur, wrote an article for MLS titled "Using Google Forms to Manage Publicity Requests" and explained how he revamped the way Mead promotes library events.

The article reflects on the articles in the May/June 2018 of "Online Searcher" magazine related to science and technology in the U.S. One of these is the use of Public Library of Science (PLOS) to avoid problems in finding authoritative science resources on the Internet. An article by reference librarian Carly Lamphere about some of the products he found to be especially intriguing or even revolutionary in the summer months is also offered.

It cites the article of Daniel Ayala urging librarians to become technology gurus to ensure security and privacy for libraries. It adds that libraries and medical websites must be locked down with strong passwords and limited access to staffers.

Topics include organizations network support resources which has links with training and educational resources, guidance documents, and stats on tax-exemption, data access by information professionals in the legal industry, and virtual reality (VR) design for healthcare services.

It includes "A Checkup With Open Source Software Revitalizes an Early Electronic Resource Portal" by Stephan Spitzer and Stephen Brown, published in the September 2007 issue of "Computers in Libraries," "CyberSelection," by Susanne Bjørner, published in the September 2007 issue of "The CyberSkeptic's Guide to Internet Research," and "Crafts and the Creative Muse," by Laura Gordon-Murnane published in the September 2007 issue of "Searcher."

"Integrating RSS Feeds of New Books Into the Campus Course Management System," by Edward M. Corrado and Heather L. Laura Gordon-Murnane's article "Politics and Tech Tools: Blogs, Aggregators and Tracking Tools" provides sites and political blogs that can be useful in political campaigns.

This article discusses articles coming from the latest issues of Computers in Libraries, ONLINE and Searcher, regarding the similarities in how individuals search for information and how they were broken down and analyzed. People perform tasks better when they understand all the components involved. Janetta Waterhouse was an information technology librarian at a New Jersey university when she decided to design training sessions that would explain basic computer technology. The effort produced positive feedback from her participants, who felt the training helped their technology-related work both in and out of the office. In his article, Stephen Arnold considers the search environment that encompasses Google, MSN and the like. Specifically, Arnold addresses the conspiracy theory surrounding search engine optimization, where publicly accessible Internet content is manipulated to boost Web site ranking during a Google search. He breaks down how organic search results differ from inorganic results.

This article recommends reading materials on technology. People who would like to know more about digital audiobook (DAB) should read the paper An Overview of Digital Audiobooks for Libraries by Tom Peters, Lori Bell, Diana Brawley Sussman and Sharon Ruda, published in the July/August issue of Computers in Libraries. The paper focuses on the four major suppliers of DAB: Audible.com, OverDrive, netLibrary and Recorded Books, and Tumble Books, which has two offerings--TumbleBooks and TumbletTalkingBooks. Meanwhile, those would like to visit museums across the U.S. can visit the web portal Museums in the USA at the American Association of Museums web site. It serves as a gateway to more than 1,400 American museums of any kind. Ever wondered what is the difference between instant messaging and online chat? Read the article Web-based Chat Vs. Instant Messaging: Who Wins? by Sarah Houghton and Aaron Schmidt, published in the July/August issue of ONLINE. Finally, librarians who need help in enabling their patrons to find materials on the Web should get a copy of the article Generosity and Copyright: Creative Commons and Creative Commons Search Tools by Laura Gordon-Murnane in the July/August issue of Searcher.

This article discusses several articles from the February 2005 issues of Computers in Libraries, The CyberSkeptic's Guide to Internet Research, and Searcher to illustrate different ways in which the Internet has helped people connect to each other and keep up-to-date on situations that affect all people, even in the most difficult circumstances. In the article Establishing and Expanding a Web Community Called NorthStarNet, which appeared in Computers in Libraries, Alan Minarik and Christina Stoll, part of the NorthStarNet (NSN) team, explain how this network has brought libraries and communities together. The goal of NSN was for each library's page to be the entry point for organizations. NSN has also brought the various communities together, serving as a town hall of sorts by posting resources that would be of interest to multiple municipalities. Meanwhile, John Lescher's Global Warming, which appeared in CyberSkeptic's Guide to Internet Research offers a good introduction to global warming as well as a collection of weather and climate tutorials from the United Kingdom Environmental Change Network. In Searcher authors Paul and Piper and Miguel Romas present Blogs of War: A Review of Alternative Sources for Iraq War Information. This article begins by highlighting general directories the reader can access for a plethora of resources on the Iraqi conflict, including Future of Iraq Portal.

This article discusses various issues and challenges that can be possibly encountered in the field of IT. After attending the 2003 Computers in Libraries conference. Lisa McColl, technical services librarian for the Ryan Memorial Library at the Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was brimming with ideas. Foremost in her mind was incorporating a new open source courseware program, Library Course Builder, so that teachers could post syllabi and class notes online and the library could simultaneously link students to appropriate, course-related resources. But after the Library Course Builder became available, the once promising project was almost derailed. Once in hand, the three discovered that the program's dynamic Web page option was really too elaborate for the seminary's needs. However, instead of giving up, the women developed a workable alternative which is to do their own alterations to the basic courseware pattern. Separately, focusing on the evolving habits of content users within work and academic settings, industry executive Roger Strouse of Outsell provides ideas on how information providers can be part of this user evolution. He centers on four broad trends, or shifts, that Outsell has identified as factors affecting how content users are seeking out information.

A review of the articles "Troy PL's Battle for Survival: Anti-Tax and Book Burning Threats" by Rhonda Hendrickson which appeared in July/August 2014 issue of "Marketing Library Services" (MLS), and Ran Hock's article "LeadFerret: Ferreting Out People Information" which appeared in the July/August 2014 issue of "The Information Advisorr's Guide to Internet Research" (IAG).

A review of two articles is presented, including an article on a beta version of the BusinessUSA website at http://business.usa.gov by Susan Bjørner and the Web of Resources column by Nick Tomaiulolo, both in the journal "The CyberSkeptic's Guide to Internet Research."

The Tax Foundation offers a Web 2.0 site featuring various reports and publications, including the "2011 State Business Tax Climate Index" which includes rankings of the top 10 best and worst U.S. states in terms of taxation. The Firearms Research Digest website offers bibliographic information for related articles appearing in more than 300 journals.
