The article presents a study on the importance of growth velocity data in managing patients with constitutional delay of growth and development (CDGD). The study noted that CDGD is found in both genetically short children and adolescents with familial short stature, as well as, those from tall statured families. According to the study, the lower growth rates presented in the 25th percentile of the growth velocity data can be an indicator of an underlying disorder such as hormonal imbalance, cystic fibrosis, or celiac disease.
