This paper is concerned with Dâbbe in Qur'an. First, the paper investigates the lexical sense of Dâbbe and then tries to examine its usage and sense in Quranic verses. After that, the paper treats especially the word Dâbbe in Surah An-Naml of Qur'an (27/82) which is, according to the sources, one of the signs of The Judgement Day. One of the essential aspects of the Qur'anic recitation is the observance of the proper pronounciation of the letters and words of the Qur'an. Similary, the tune adopted by the reader for the Qur'anic recitation is also very important. This tone should reflect the Qur' anic inimitability during the recitation process. This, however, depends on the reciters' knowledge of the Qur'anic language together with his or her artistic performance in conveying the messages of the Qur'an. My earlier research has shown that Niżām al-Dīn al-Nīsābūns (d. c. 1329 C. E.) portrayal of nature in his tafsīr was faithful to science and falsafa. In this paper, through more comparisons with Fahr al-Dīn al-Rāzī's (d. 1209 C. E.) tafsīr, we will find that additional scientific information enhances the reader's understanding of certain āyāt. I will investigate two specific cases in which Nīsābūrī proposed a physical explanation for how the motions of the heavens could be an intermediary for God's control over terrestrial events.
