Background: Renal impairment (RI) confers a poor prognosis in multiple myeloma. Reversibility of renal function is associated with improved survival in such patients. Patients in developing countries often present at an advanced stage and renal impairment is present in up to 40% of patients at diagnosis. We studied the renal outcome and survival of these patients with bortezomib-based induction therapy., Materials and Methods: It was a single-center prospective study in a tertiary care multi-specialty institute in patients of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (NDMM) who presented with RI from July 2018 to December 2019. The diagnosis of multiple myeloma was made based on IMWG14 criteria. All patients received bortezomib and or immunomodulatory drug-based triplet or quadruplet induction therapy. Hematological and renal outcomes were assessed as per IMWG 2016 criteria., Results: Among 216 consecutive patients of NDMM, RI was seen in 91 (42.2%) patients. The median age of 91 patients was 60 years. (range- 32-80 years). Light chain myeloma was seen in 26% (n = 24) of patients. The median estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was 15.36 mL/min (3.1-38 mL/min) and a majority of patients were in the advanced ISS stage. (ISS III = 85.7%). Thirty-six (39.5%) patients received hemodialysis at presentation. Renal response was seen in 67 (73%) patients and 20 (out of 36; 55%) became dialysis independent over a median time of 38 days (Range 15-160 days). At a median follow-up of 14.7 months, 30 (33%) patients had died, of which, 14 (15.4%) patients had early mortality (within 2 months of diagnosis). Presence of light chain myeloma and cast nephropathy (definite or probable) were identified as independent predictors of poor renal recovery on multivariate analysis. (HR = 2.841; 95% CI [1.471-5.486], P = .002 for light chain myeloma; HR = 1.859; 95% CI (1.087-3.180); P = .024 for cast nephropathy) Patients with low eGFR at presentation (<12.5 mL/min) were more likely to have persistent renal insufficiency. Objective: Deficiency of adenosine deaminase 2 (DADA2) is a potentially fatal monogenic syndrome characterized by variable manifestations of systemic vasculitis, bone marrow failure, and immunodeficiency. Most cases are diagnosed by pediatric care providers, given the typical early age of disease onset. This study was undertaken to describe the clinical phenotypes and treatment response both in adults and in children with DADA2 in India., Methods: A retrospective analysis of pediatric and adult patients with DADA2 diagnosed at various rheumatology centers across India was conducted. Clinical characteristics, diagnostic findings, and treatment responses were analyzed in all subjects., Results: In total, 33 cases of DADA2 were confirmed in this cohort between April 2017 and March 2020. Unlike previous studies, nearly one-half of the confirmed cases presented during adulthood. All symptomatic patients exhibited features of vasculitis, whereas constitutional symptoms and anemia were more common in pediatric patients. Cutaneous and neurologic involvement were common, and 18 subjects had experienced at least one stroke. In addition, the clinical spectrum of DADA2 was expanded by recognition of novel features in these patients, including pancreatic infarction, focal myocarditis, and diffuse alveolar hemorrhage. Treatment with tumor necrosis factor inhibitors (TNFi) was initiated in 25 patients. All of the identified disease manifestations showed marked improvement after initiation of TNFi, and disease remission was achieved in 19 patients. Two cases were complicated by tuberculosis infection, and 2 deaths were reported., Conclusion: This report presents the first case series of patients with DADA2 from India, diagnosed by adult and pediatric care providers. Background: C3 glomerulopathy (C3G) is related to dysfunction of alternative complement pathway (ACP) because of its hyperactivation. Triggering factors and genetic profile are likely to be different in developing countries as compared to the Western world. Data regarding C3G from South Asian is scanty., Study Design: In the present study, 115 patients of C3G from 2012 to 2017 were analyzed. Clinical details were reviewed; serological levels of C3, C4, complement factor H or B and autoantibody testing was done by nephelometry/ELISA. Limited genetics workup for CFH and CFHR5 genes was done., Results: The prevalence of C3G was 1.52%. There was no difference in demographic and histopathologic profiles of C3G patients. Majority of patients had low functional assay and C3 levels. C3 nephritic factor was present in 47.5% of DDD and 38.6% of C3GN. Autoantibodies to CFH were present more often in the patients of C3GN (29.5%) than DDD (12.5%). Autoantibodies to CFB were equally common in both groups. Past history of infections was present in one-third patients and monoclonal paraproteins were present only in two patients. No pathogenic variants were noted in CFH/CFHR5 gene. On follow-up (3.2 + 1.6 years), complete and partial remission was achieved in one-fourth patients and 26% had resistance disease. About 40% progressed to ESRD and 18 underwent renal transplantation of which nine had a post-transplant recurrence., Conclusions: Indian cohort had some differences in the immunological and genetic profile when compared to the Western literature; most significant was the absence of monoclonal immunoglobulins as a trigger for C3G.

Acute kidney injury (AKI) occurs in about 1% of cases of malaria; however, in these cases, the mortality rate can be as high as 45%. Thrombotic microangiopathy (TMA) as a cause of AKI in malaria is rare with only a handful cases documented in literature so far. Alternate complement pathway (ACP) dysregulation as a major mechanism of injury in the development of thrombotic microangiopathies is well known. It is proposed that patients with preexisting defects in ACP are usually clinically silent, until stress condition such as infections help manifest them. Herein, we describe the presence of two complement factor H (CFH) variants in an 8-year-old female with vivax malaria associated TMA. The complement workup confirmed dysregulated ACP and revealed two single-nucleotide polymorphisms in CFH gene, i.e. exon-7 rs1061147 (p.Ala243Ala) and exon-9 rs1061170 (p.His402Tyr) which predisposed this patient to develop TMA precipitated by vivax malaria.

There is a paucity of literature on renal diseases associated with HIV infection in Asian countries. Renal disease in HIV-infected children can involve the glomerulus, interstitium, tubules or blood vessels of the kidney. In this case series, five HIV-infected children with various forms of renal disease are reported. The renal pathology included HIV-associated nephropathy, collapsing focal segmental glomerulosclerosis without tubular changes, tubule-interstitial nephritis and minimal change disease (MCD). Case five fulfilled the classification criteria for childhood polyarteritis nodosa (PAN). It is important to screen all HIV-infected children for renal disease to enable detection at an early stage.

Background: Podocytes can be the primary site of injury or secondarily involved in various protienuric states. Cross talk between adjacent foot processes and with basement membrane is important for slit diaphragm function. Does expression of podocyte associated proteins in kidney biopsies alter with site/type of primary injury? Genetic mutations of podocin result in steroid resistant FSGS. Can protein expression of podocin predict resistant cases to initiate further genetic evaluation?, Methods: Adult patients (n-88) with protienuria- minimal change disease(MCD)-22, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis(FSGS)-21,membranous glomerulonephritis(MGN)-25 and IgA nephropathy(IgAN)-20 were selected for immunohistochemistry with podocin and beta dystroglycan . Results were graded (0 - 3+scale )and compared with control biopsies and internal control. Treatment and follow up (6 months -2 ½ years) of FSGS and MCD cases were collected., Results: There was intense to moderate staining of the podocytes with podocin and β dystroglycan in the glomeruli in all cases (MCD, FSGS, IgAN and MGN) except for weak staining with β dystroglycan in 3 cases of MCD. There was loss of immunostains in areas of segmental/global sclerosis. There was no significant difference in the staining pattern between the groups. In primary podocytopathies, staining pattern did not differ between steroid resistant, sensitive or dependent cases., Conclusions: Immunohistochemical expression of podocin and β dystroglycan does not differ in nephropathies which have different site of injury depending on absence (MCD and FSGS) or presence of immune deposits and their localization (MGN and IgAN). Podocin and β dystroglycan staining did not differentiate steroid sensitive and resistant cases, hence, does not give clue to initiate genetic studies. However, analysis of bigger cohort may be required., Summary: Podocin and β dystroglycan immunohistochemistry was done to analyze podocyte - podocyte and podocyte -basement membrane matrix connections in adult protienuric states. Primary podocytopathies i.e. MCD and FSGS and secondary podocytopathy due to immune complex deposition, i.e., MGN (subepithelial) and IgAN (mesangial) were analyzed. DRESS or drug reaction (or rash) with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms belongs to the severe cutaneous adverse reaction group and is characterized by hematological abnormalities and visceral organ involvement. Although most often related with anticonvulsant and sulfonamide use, it is reported with numerous other drugs. We report an unusual case of DRESS syndrome due to Leflunomide, also complicated by renal involvement in the form of granulomatous interstitial nephritis and vasculitis. On a review of the literature, eight similar cases were found, and these are discussed.

Viral infections in renal allograft recipients constitute an important cause of renal graft dysfunction. They have shown an increasing incidence coinciding with more potent immunosuppression regimens. Cytomegalovirus (CMV) is well-known cause of a tubulointerstitial nephritis rich in plasma cells with cytopathic changes in tubular epithelial and endothelial cells. However, involvement of glomeruli and larger arteries in the absence of tubulointerstitial disease is rare. In this study, we demonstrated the spectrum of renal disease caused by CMV among renal allograft recipients. Retrospective analysis of 2900 renal allograft biopsies performed over a 10-year period revealed 10 cases of CMV infection, with half of them (5/10) detected in 2010-2011. Although tubulointerstitial nephritis due to CMV was the most common lesion (7/10), we noted an increased incidence of CMV glomerulopathy with (1/10) or without (3/10) coexisting tubulointerstitial CMV disease. Isolated glomerular involvement was characterized by a relative lack of inflammation in any of the compartments along with the presence of cytopathic changes in the glomerular endothelial cells and podocytes. Another patient had CMV-induced thrombotic microangiopathy. The coexistent diseases were calcineurin inhibitor toxicity (n = 1), antibody-mediated rejection (n = 1), cellular rejection (n = 2), and invasive fungal infection (n = 1). In conclusion, there is a wide spectrum of CMV-induced lesions. CMV glomerulopathy is characterized by cytopathic changes in glomerular endothelial cells and podocytes with a lack of significant inflammation. Background: Immunoglobulin A (IgA) nephropathy is the most common glomerulonephritis worldwide, but has a variable geographic distribution. the bulk of the disease burden is borne by asian countries. however, its exact prevalence or clinicopathologic spectrum in india is not well documented., Methods: This cross sectional study analysed the renal biopsy findings and clinical features at presentation in 66 patients of primary IgA nephropathy diagnosed over a period of 2 years (2007-2008). The results were compared with studies from other centres in the country and elsewhere., Results: IgA nephropathy comprised 8.1% of all native kidney biopsies. The mean age of the patients was 29.9 years with a male:female ratio of 4.4:1. Most patients presented with renal failure and a significant percentage (23%) also had nephrotic range proteinuria. Renal biopsies were classified by the Haas classification and were further scored by the MEST scoring system of the Oxford classification. By Haas classification, 41 cases (62%) showed advanced sclerotic lesions of class V. Active crescents (cellular or fibrocellular) were seen in 42% of cases, and 26% of cases showed endocapillary proliferation. Serum creatinine values were highest in the presence of proliferative lesions. MEST scoring of the Oxford classification was not applicable in approximately 18% of cases because of the presence of advanced sclerotic lesions. On immunofluorescence, the majority of the cases showed both mesangial and membranous positivity for IgA antisera. Electron microscopy revealed para-mesangial location of immune complex deposition in the majority of the cases. It also showed glomerular basement membrane abnormalities in two cases., Conclusion: Comparison of clinical and pathological features revealed that this disease presents as an advanced disease in much younger individuals in this study compared to other studies. Elucidation of the underlying factors may have immense therapeutic implications.

Renal involvement as the first manifestation of sarcoidosis is rare and has never been reported in India. This report describes a 35 year old man who was admitted to the emergency department with a clinical diagnosis of acute on chronic renal failure, secondary to obstructive uropathy. Postmortem examination unexpectedly revealed disseminated sarcoidosis.

Viral infections have been recognized as an integral part of both graft injury and rejection. On routine histology, viral infections are diagnosed only when fully established, by the presence of viral inclusions or cytopathic effect. Although renal transplants are routinely done in many centres in India, the incidence of viral infections is largely unkown. This study was aimed at detecting 5 viral infections namely, cytomegalovirus (CMV), BK polyoma Virus (BKV), Herpes Simplex Virus1 and 2 (HSV1 and 2) and Epstein Barr Virus (EBV) in renal biopsies from 321 renal allograft patients, using immunohistochemical and electron microscopic studies. Sixty two biopsies were selected from a total of 414 (belonging to 321 patients) for immunostaining on the basis of features suspicious of viral infections in hematoxylin and eosin stained sections. Immunostaining confirmed CMV infection in 8 biopsies, BKV infection in 31 biopsies and HSV1 in only 2 biopsies. HSV2 and EBV were not detected in any biopsy. Two biopsies showing CMV immunopositivity and 5 of BKV were further processed for electron microscopy, which supported the diagnoses. Thus, the study highlights the prevalence of BKV and CMV infections in renal transplant patients having graft dysfunction, to be 9.3% and 1.9%, respectively. Besides, only one case each was diagnosed as CMV infection and BKV infection in routine histopathological reporting, establishing the importance of immunohistochemical studies in early diagnosis of these viral infections.

IgG4-related kidney disease (IgG4 RKD) is increasingly reported with varied manifestations. The present study was carried out to study the spectrum of IgG4 RKD. All patients with renal manifestation associated with conditions known to be associated with IgG4-related diseases (IgG4 RDs), or renal imaging or histology suggestive of IgG4 RKD were included and evaluated further. Patients with known extrarenal IgG4RD were also screened for renal involvement. Out of 40 patients screened over a period of 15 months, IgG4 RKD was diagnosed in 8. Majority were male (87.5%) with mean age being 56 years. Disease spectrum ranged from normal renal function in one to renal failure requiring dialysis in another two patients. Significant proteinuria was uncommon (12.5%) while hematuria was not seen in any patient. Tubulointerstitial nephritis was seen in all four patients who underwent kidney biopsy. Two patients had associated glomerular lesions in the form of immune complex crescentic glomerulonephritis. The most common imaging abnormality was hypodense renal lesions seen in 2 patients. Elevated IgG4 levels had 87.5% sensitivity and 78.3% specificity for IgG4 RKD and levels did not correlate with disease severity. Of 4 patients treated with steroids, 3 showed improvement in renal function. IgG4 RKD is an uncommon disease even at a referral tertiary care center. Elevated IgG4 levels alone are neither sensitive nor specific for the diagnosis of IgG4 RKD, and a combination of clinical, imaging, serological, and histological features are required for diagnosis. The spectrum of biopsy-proven glomerular disease was studied from a single center in Northwestern India, among adolescents aged 13-19 years. From January 2009 to December 2012, a total of 177 patients with biopsy-proven glomerular disease were studied. The same pathologist reported all the biopsy specimens after subjecting to light, immunofluorescence, and electron microscopy. The clinical profile and laboratory findings of the patients were correlated with the histopathological spectrum of glomerular diseases. Males formed 71.19% (n = 126) and the remaining 28.81% (n = 51) were females. Lupus nephritis had a strong female predominance, whereas minimal change disease (MCD) and focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) had a male predominance. Nephrotic syndrome was the indication for biopsy in 65% of the cases. Rapidly progressive renal failure and acute nephritis were the next common indications accounting for 14% and 7%, respectively. FSGS was the most common glomerular disease in adolescents (n = 45, 25.4%). The next common were MCD and lupus nephritis each contributing 21.6% and 10.7%, respectively. Primary glomerular diseases accounted for 84.75% (n = 150) of the total. The remaining 15.25% (n = 27) were attributed to secondary glomerular diseases, of which lupus nephritis was the most common, i.e., in 70.4% patients (n = 19). FSGS was the most common histology in adolescent nephrotic participants (37%). MCD was the next common, found in 31% of nephrotic patients. Electron microscopy changed the diagnosis made by light microscopy and immunofluorescence in 5.6% cases only, and it confirmed the diagnosis in another 21.6%. Monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance does not have end organ damage, but a proportion of cases manifest with renal injury when it is called monoclonal gammopathy of renal significance (MGRS). Herein, we describe a case of acute hepatitis E infection, which precipitated the development of MGRS. The patient underwent kidney biopsy for elevated creatinine with clinical suspicion of drug-induced interstitial nephritis. On light microscopy, there were periodic acid--Schiff negative-fractured casts in tubules with giant cell reaction around them. The tubular epithelial cells showed intracytoplasmic bile pigment. On direct immunofluorescence, casts showed kappa restriction. A diagnosis of bilirubin proximal tubulopathy and light chain cast nephropathy was made, and possibility of myeloma was suggested. On further evaluation, κ:λ ratio was 27, β2 microglobulin was 8036 ng/ml, and bone marrow examination showed 5% plasma cells. There were no bony lesions, and serum calcium was 8.6 mg/dl. The present case is unique in two aspects. First, the patient developed MGRS triggered by acute hepatitis E in less than a month. The renal diseases most frequently associated with myeloma include cast nephropathy (CN), amyloidosis and monoclonal immunoglobulin deposition disease. Light chain proximal tubulopathy (LCPT) is reported less frequently. Majority of the cases with κ-restriction present with Fanconi syndrome (FS) and show crystals in proximal tubular epithelial cytoplasm. In contrast, those with λ-restriction are infrequently associated with FS and show cytoplasmic vacuolations in proximal tubular epithelial cytoplasm. Combination of morphologies in kidney affected by plasma cell dyscrasias is rare and co-existence of LCPT and CN is one of the rarest. Monoclonal immunoglobulin deposition disease (MIDD) is an uncommon disease with a peak incidence between the 5th and 6th decades of life. It is characterized by non-fibrillar, Congo red negative deposition of monoclonal immunoglobulins in various organs, including in the kidneys. MIDD can be of three types depending on the composition of the deposits, and includes light chain deposition disease (LCDD), heavy chain deposition disease and light and heavy chain deposition disease, of which LCDD is the most common. Renal involvement is a universal finding in MIDD, and is in the form of renal insufficiency, microscopic hematuria and nephrotic range proteinuria. Gross hematuria is a rare occurrence. Renal biopsy usually shows nodular sclerosing glomerulopathy on light microscopy and diffuse linear staining of glomerular and tubular basement membrane on immunofluorescence microscopy. We report a young male who presented with rapidly progressive renal failure and gross hematuria and was diagnosed as LCDD with nodular glomerulopathy and crescents on renal biopsy. All rights reserved Abstract: Background. BK nephropathy (BKN) is an important complication of renal transplantation with a reported incidence between 1% and 10% in different parts of the world. Early diagnosis is important to plan early therapeutic strategies. The epidemiology and evolution of BKN is relatively unknown in India and hence, the present study has been designed to prospectively monitor the activation of BK virus (BKV) in renal transplant recipients in India. Patients and methods. In this study, 32 renal allograft recipients were prospectively monitored with protocol biopsies of allografts, BKV DNA load in plasma, and viral particles in urine by electron microscopy (EM) on day 1, and at 1, 3, and 6 months. Additionally, the baseline BKV DNA load in plasma was quantitated in 21 corresponding donors. Results. On follow-up in 32 recipients, 9.7%, 23.8%, 19.2%, and 13.3% of patients showed viral profiles by EM at day 1, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months, respectively. BKV DNA positivity in plasma was 25.8%, 42.9%, 15.4%, and 20% at day 1, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months, respectively, with mean BKV copy number/mL plasma of 1796, 1029, 2611, and 3318, respectively. A total of 15.7% (17/108) urine samples of 32 renal recipients were positive by urine EM. Out of 100 protocol biopsies, none developed histologically demonstrable cytopathic effects of BKN, although 8% biopsies were SV-40 large T antigen (SV-40 T Ag) positive. By quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction assay, 27/108 (25%) of recipients' plasma samples were positive for BKV. Peak viremia and viruria occurred at 1-3 months post transplantation. The baseline viremia in donors was predictive of viremia positivity in the post-transplantation period at 1 month. Twenty-four episodes of graft dysfunction were attributed mainly to rejection. Conclusion. The study shows a total of 15.7% and 25% urine and plasma samples were positive for BKV at any time during a 6-month follow-up. A 25-year-old female presented with decreased urine output, deranged renal function, thrombocytopenia, and hemolytic anemia. Kidney biopsy was consistent with thrombotic microangiopathy with acute cortical necrosis and Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (IgAN). Hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia and urine output improved after five sessions of plasma exchange. Renal function showed a delayed recovery and serum creatinine normalized by 3 months. This is first case of successful use of plasma exchange in hemolytic uremic syndrome with cortical necrosis associated with IgAN. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A 60‑year male was admitted with advanced renal failure and bilaterally enlarged kidneys. Kidney biopsy revealed diffuse interstitial infiltration by CD20 + lymphomatous cells suggestive of diffuse large B‑cell, non‑Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Bone marrow examination was negative for malignant cells. Positron emission tomography‑computed tomography showed uniformly diffuse and avid flurodeoxy glucose uptake in both kidneys, multiple hypodense areas of both lobes of liver, and axial and appendicular skeleton. Patient was treated with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, hydroxydaunorubicin, vincristine and prednisolone, became afebrile and serum creatinine normalized. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The morphological spectrum of light chain deposition disease (LCDD) may range from normal glomerular morphology to mesangio-proliferative to mesangio-capillary to nodular sclerosing patterns. Due to the inconsistencies regarding treatment and the universally poor graft outcome of post-transplant LCDD, it is imperative to maintain a high index of suspicion and perform relevant investigations for clinching this diagnosis. A 40-year-old lady was diagnosed as a case of membrano-proliferative glomerulonephritis 3 years back, for which she underwent a live unrelated renal allograft transplant. Postoperative period was complicated by an acute rise in serum creatinine on the 21st postoperative day. Biopsy showed patchy acute cortical necrosis, which responded to conservative management. The present admission was for renal failure and subnephrotic proteinuria. A kidney biopsy was performed, and all the 14 glomeruli examined showed a mesangiocapillary pattern of glomerular injury with cellular nodule formation in some. The nodules were PAS and Congo red negative. Immunofluorescence showed glomerular and tubular basement staining for Kappa light chains only. Electron microscopy showed the characteristic granular deposits in subendothelial location in the glomerulus, and in tubular basement membranes, thus confirming the diagnosis of LCDD. Abstract: The renal allograft is prone to develop almost all forms of glomerular diseases either as recurrent or de novo disease, with the exception of Alport’s syndrome. Identification of recurrent glomerulonephritis requires an accurate diagnosis of pretransplant disease, which may not always be possible as it presents as end-stage renal disease at the time of transplantation. Posttransplantation glomerular diseases such as chronic allograft nephropathy, malignant hypertension, and thrombotic microangiopathy due to various causes may be mistaken for primary glomerulonephritis. In this article, an attempt has been made to identify the glomerular diseases that were detected in renal allografts over a 9-year period, comprising 950 cases in a tertiary care center in north India. Abstract: Background: BK nephropathy (BKN) is an important complication of renal transplantation, with a reported incidence between 1% and 10% in different parts of the world. Known risk factors for the development of BKN are the recently introduced immunosuppressants and steroids. However, the preexisting viral load may add to the risk for development of BKN. Therefore, the present study was designed to monitor the baseline BK virus (BKV) DNA in renal transplant donors and recipients in India for correlation with the development of BKN. Methods: This study used real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for quantification of BKV DNA in the plasma of kidney transplant donors (n = 38) and recipients (n = 87) at the time of surgery. The control BKV DNA was manufactured from a known positive human sample, by cloning a 133-bp PCR product of bases 4,329 to 4,462 of the large T-antigen (TAg) of BKV in a plasmid vector. Results: Twenty-five of 87 recipient (28.7%) and 17/38 donor (44.7%) plasma samples were positive for BKV DNA at the time of transplantation with a median viral load of 910 (range 49–4770) and 312 (range 79–1508) copies per mL plasma, respectively. Six of 38 donor-recipient pairs showed viremia in both the recipient and donor: 1 developed histologically proven BKN at 18 months, 1 showed positive immunohistochemistry for SV40 TAg, and 2 others had high levels of viremia (14,545 copies at 6 and 2,617,524 copies at 3 months). None of the other 81 recipients showed evidence of BKN in the follow-up period. Conclusions: This study showed that 28% of recipients and 44% of donors displayed baseline positivity for BKV DNA in plasma, which is higher than the reported incidence in the West. The baseline levels of BKV DNA in recipients with end-stage renal disease were higher than in donors. Dual positivity for BKV DNA in the plasma of donor-recipient pairs conferred a high risk of development of BK nephropathy in the allografted kidney. [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
