This study aims to comprehensively review the historical development and current status of research in the field of school improvement using a bibliometric analysis approach. Recognizing the vital role of schools in society and the necessity for their constant evolution, it is essential to understand the breadth and depth of scholarly efforts in school improvement. Using the Scopus index, 596 English language journal articles on school improvement published between 1916 and 2023 were identified and analyzed. Utilizing the VOSviewer software, the bibliometric analysis was conducted in two stages: descriptive statistics to understand the trend of document volumes and co-authorship countries, and a multidimensional scaling technique to visualize co-authorship, co-occurrence, and citation networks. The data revealed a consistent rise in publication volume over the years, with a peak in 2020. Despite contributions from 45 countries, the United States and the United Kingdom were the most prolific. However, author collaboration was found to be minimal, suggesting potential for broader partnerships. The study also identified key research themes such as leadership, distributed leadership, and accountability through keyword co-occurrence analysis. The most frequently cited literature emphasized the role of collaboration, instructional program coherence, and school culture in school improvement. The findings underscore the necessity for increased global collaboration, exploration of emerging themes, and enhanced geographical representation in future research to further enrich the knowledge base in this vital educational field.

Abstract: Kepala sekolah menjalankan peran penting dalam mewujudkan sekolah berkualitas, seorang kepala sekolah diharuskan memiliki kemampuan analisis strategi dan rekaya manajemen. Riset ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kemampuan kepala sekolah luar biasa dalam menetapkan strategi pengembangan sekolah serta desain manajemen yang mendukung terimplementasikannya strategi secara tepat. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini yakni Kepala SLB se-Provinsi Jawa Timur dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 108 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan secara akumulatif para kepala sekolah tersebut 55,2% berada pada kategori sangat baik, 11,1% baik, 32,8% kurang baik dan 0,9% tidak baik sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa kemampuan kepala sekolah rata-rata kurang memenuhi syarat sebagai pemimpin yang mampu menetapkan strategi dengan analisis SWOT. Dalam upaya untuk meningkatkan kualitas sekolah luar biasa. Terdapat 2 indikator yang lemah yaitu pada Implementasi Teknologi Informasi, Evaluasi dan Tindaklanjut. Sehingga peneliti merekomendasikan perlunya peningkatan kemampuan kepala sekolah pada kedua aspek tersebut.

Abstract: This study aims to describe (1) the policies in planning, implementing, and supervising the special job, (2) Strategies and cooperation implemented by the special job fair with work partners, and (3) the usefulness of special job fair in developing the carrier of SMK Negeri 4 Malang students. The research method used is a qualitative research method using a case study design. Data collection techniques used are interviews, documentation, and observation. The subjects of this research are the chairman of a special job fair, member of a special job fair, head of public relations, admin of public relations, three students, and three graduates. Data analysis is used with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of this study are, (1) The supervision of BKK activities was conducted directly and indirectly by Public relations. BKK evaluated and reported the result of graduate search result viii and the report of work program to internal and external schools; (2) Strategies and cooperation implemented by the special job fair with work partners in Covid-19 Pandemic were done by applying two approaches namely BKK targeting or aiming the industries or the industries requesting to cooperate with BKK, and (3) The usefulness of the special job fair in developing the carrier of SMKN 4 Malang students was done through educative webinar implementation during Covid-19 Pandemic is increasing their knowledge and preparation to continue the next carrier they desire, through working, building a business, or continuing their study. Abstract : The purpose of this study was to describe the prospect policy, forecast future policy, and compile policy recommendations of the elimination of “calistung” learning policies in the lower classes of elementary schools in Malang city. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. This study analyzed using the public policy prospective analysis theory from Dunn. This research in collecting data using interview techniques, and study reference. The key informant is the principal and additional informants namely the teacher and parents of students. The findings of the study are (1) The core of the substantive problem of policy is the problem of skills student and school curriculum; (2) The results of policy forecasting show the competitiveness of students towards “calistung” is slow; and (3) Policy recommendations made by the education authorities should immediately formulate policy guidelines, and schools can get around the “calistung” program by inserting on character building or educational games. Abstrak : Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan prospek kebijakan, meramalkan masa depan kebijakan, dan menyusun rekomendasi kebijakan penghapusan pembelajaran calistung pada kelas rendah sekolah dasar di kota Malang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini melakukan analisis menggunakan teori analisis prospektif kebijakan publik dari Dunn. Penelitian ini dalam pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara, dan kajian kepustakaan. Key Informan yakni kepala sekolah dan informan tambahan yakni guru dan orang tua siswa. Temuan dari penelitianyakni (1) Inti permasalahan substantif kebijakan yaitu masalah kecakapan dan kurikulum sekolah; (2) Hasil peramalan kebijakan menunjukkan daya cakap siswa terhadap calistung lambat; dan (3) Rekomendasi kebijakan dilakukan dinas pendidikan seyogyanya segera menyusun panduan kebijakan, serta sekolah dapat menyiasati program calistung dengan menyisipkan pada pembinaan karakter atau permainan edukasi.
