Growing cubiu (Solanum sessiliflorum Dunal) is still very limited, mainly due to lack of technical information about the culture, creating a necessity to obtain knowledge about the adaptation and phenology, thus, improve the technological management. In the context of this information, the present study aimed to assess gas exchange and vegetative growth parameters and productivity cubiu in greenhouse and field. To run the experiment cultured cubiu in the external environment (field) and in a protected environment (en-vegetation), evaluating parameters of vegetative (stem diameter, plant height, and canopy volume), productivity (number of commercial and non-commercial fruits, and total production of commercial and non-commercial) fruit, gas exchange and SPAD index. Through the results it was found that performing the cultivation of cubiu the field are obtained better photosynthetic performance and water use efficiency (USA) and greater vegetative development and production of marketable fruits.

For growing vegetables, seedling production is one of the most important stages of the process, and the use of suitable substrates as physical, chemical and biological characteristics for occur the formation of a quality seedling is necessary. In the context of information exposed the present study aimed to evaluate the production of pepper seedlings, using substrates of different mixtures of combinations (commercial substrate (Peat fertile®), expanded vermiculite and coconut fiber). To perform the experiment was carried sowing pepper cultivar All Big® in polystyrene trays (Styrofoam®) 200 cells, filled with five treatments, combinations (C): 1 C1 (Peat fertile® (60%), vermiculite (20%) and coconut fiber (20%)); 2 C2 (Peat fertile® (60%) and vermiculite (40%)); 3 C3 (Peat fertile® (60%) and coconut fiber (40%)); 4- C4 ((Peat fertile® (40%), vermiculite (30%) and coconut fiber (30%)); and 5- C5 (Peat fertile® (100%) at 42 days after germination (DAG ) seedlings, we assessed treatments for parameters: At 42 days after germination (DAG) of the seedlings was evaluated treatments for parameters: seedlings height (AM), stem diameter (DC), length of the root system (CR) and number of true leaves (NF). It was found that for the variable diameters and number of true leaves of the seedlings did not differ from the treatments, while for the variables plant height and root length, the combinations C1 (Peat fertile® (60%) vermiculite expanded (20%) and coconut fiber (20%)) and C4 ((Peat fertile® (40%), vermiculite (30%) and coconut fiber (30%)), provided the best and C5 treatment (Peat fertile® (100%) the worst results.

When performing in plants by grafting methods slit at the time of grafting is discarded cup rootstock. In this context, the aim of this work is to evaluate the technique of cutting in tomato plants that exhibit characteristics for use as rootstocks for tomato grafting and attachment provided by clones Cup compared to rootstocks propagated by seeds . For execution of the work, two experiments were conducted in the agricultural year 2013, for the first experiment was rooting three rootstocks: 1) wild species Solanum pennellii 'LA716', 2) access mini-tomato 6889; and 3) Witness (tomato Santa Cruz Kada®) for the second experiment we evaluated the handle grafting rootstocks propagated by cuttings, compared to the same propagated by seeds. For the first experiment, treatments rootstocks access mini-tomato 6889 and witness, provided the greatest percentage of cuttings. For the second experiment, to evaluate the variable takes grafting, it was found that tomato rootstocks propagated by cuttings provide a good grip grafting the same or similar propagated by seeds.
