This paper examines the impact of coupling in a class of linear discrete-time systems with mode separation over networks. We provide a complete analysis and design treatment allowing at extending the stabilization control design to the corresponding synchronization problem. We deploy a time-scale separation of the whole network dynamics to synthesize the controls that synchronize both the slow and fast states. We show that the design implementation is cast as feedback simultaneous stabilization framework and cast as feasibility problem over finite number of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). As demonstrated by simulation studies, the ensuing results provide designers with a network-centric technique guarantee stability and enhance the performance of considered coupled systems. In this paper, the practical mean-square scaled-consensus problem of multiagent systems is studied. Higher-order general linear dynamics is investigated, where all agents are subject to faults or denial of service attacks (DoS). The considered network comprises agents taking quantised states under undirected communication channels. Different from the existing works, no strict conditions have been imposed on the eigenvalues of the agents' state matrix. First, we propose a distributed scaled-consensus protocol that utilises a probabilistic quantisation algorithm. Second, scaled-disagreement analysis is provided via mean-square stability methodology. Finally, sufficient conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities are presented in order to obtain scaled-consensus gain for both leaderless and leader–follower cases. A reset methodology in controller design can affect the performance and stability of control systems. Stability of reset time delay systems can be addressed based on a similar theorem of Lyapunov–Krasoviskii theory. In this study, a robust delay‐dependent stability analysis of reset control systems is proposed for linear time invariant case. The conditions of stability are given in terms of linear matrix inequalities. In addition, extension of results is given to investigate stability of non‐linear reset systems. Digital communication network conditions, such as networkinduced delays, data packet dropouts and limited communication capacity due to signal quantization are taken into consideration. A control design criterion is derived on the basis of the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method. A novel interval delay system approach is used for stability analysis and control synthesis for networked control systems with two static quantizers. In this paper, a distributed estimation algorithm using Bayesian‐based forward backward Kalman filter (KF) is proposed for stochastic singular linear systems. The method incorporates generalised versions of KF for bounded cases with complete and incomplete prior information, followed by estimation fusion of these cases. The objective of this paper is to propose a generalized approach to stabilization of systems which are composed of linear time-delay subsystems coupled by linear time-varying interconnections. The proposed algorithms, which are formulated within the convex optimization framework, provide decentralized solutions to the problem of delay-dependent asymptotic stability with strict dissipativity. It is established that the new methodology can reproduce earlier results on passivity, positive realness and disturbance attenuation. Then a decentralized structure of dissipative state-feedback controllers is designed to render the closed-loop interconnected system delay-dependent asymptotically stable with strict dissipativity. Abstract: This paper investigates the stability and filtering problems for a class of linear discrete-time switched systems with average dwell time (ADT) switching by allowing the Lyapunov-like functions to increase during the running time of subsystems. In this way, the issue of asynchronous switching between system modes and filters is captured. It is established that the proposed Lyapunov-like functions facilitates the mode-dependent design since the unmatched filters are allowed to perform in the interval of asynchronous switching before the matched ones are applied. The conditions of the existence of admissible asynchronous filters are derived, and numerical examples are provided to show the potential and effectiveness of the developed results. Abstract: This paper develops new robust delay-dependent filter design for a class of linear systems with time-varying delays and convex-bounded parameter uncertainties. The design procedure hinges upon the constructive use of an appropriate Lyapunov functional plus a free-weighting matrices in order to exhibit the delay-dependent dynamics. The developed approach utilizes smaller number of LMI decision variables thereby leading to less conservative solutions to the delay-dependent stability and filtering problems. Subsequently, linear matrix inequalities (LMIs)-based conditions are characterized such that the linear delay system is robustly asymptotically stable with an level . The problems of ℒ2-gain analysis and control synthesis for a class of linear discrete-time switched systems with convex-bounded parameter uncertainties in all system matrices are investigated. The main thrust is based on the constructive use of an appropriate switched Lyapunov functional. The ℒ2-gain analysis is to characterize conditions under which the linear switched system with polytopic uncertainties is uniformly quadratically stable with an ℒ2 gain smaller than a prescribed constant level. The control synthesis is to design switched feedback schemes, whether based on state-, output measurements or by using dynamic output feedback, to guarantee that the corresponding closed-loop system enjoys the uniform quadratic stability with an ℒ2 gain smaller than a prescribed constant level. This paper develops new results to the problem of simultaneous feedback stabilization using static output feedback (SOF) control for a finite collection of linear dynamical systems with unknown state delay. We establish tractable synthesis conditions for nominal SOF controllers and subsequently extend the results to resilient SOF to cope with possible additive controller gain perturbations. In both cases, the design of SOF controllers is based on guaranteed cost and ℋ∞ approaches. In this paper, the problems of passivity and passification of a class of linear jumping time-delay systems are investigated. The jumping parameters are modelled as a continuous-time, discrete-state Markov process. The interplay between time-delay pattern and passivity concept is examined leading to three distinct cases: passivity with weak delay dependence, passivity with strong delay dependence (PSDD) and passivity with functional time delay. In the case of PSDD, a new state transformation is developed to exhibit the delay dependence. It is established that the passivity conditions can always be cast in a linear matrix inequality format. This paper deals with a general class of uncertain neutral jumping systems with different lengths of distributed state‐delays and multiple state‐derivative delays. The jumping parameters are treated as a continuous‐time, discrete‐state Markov process and the uncertainties are parametric and norm‐bounded. An LMI‐based sufficient condition is provided for the robust stability independent of delay. Then robust stabilization is established using memoryless state feedback and distributed feedback. The results are extended to the nominal neutral jumping and the uncertain retarded systems. Robust H∞ output feedback control is examined to design observer‐based controllers which render the augmented system asymptotically stable independent of delay with a guaranteed performance measure for all admissible uncertainties. This paper provides complete results on the stability behavior of a class of uncertain dynamical systems with jumping parameters and functional time-delays. The jumping parameters are modeled as a continuous-time, discrete-state Markov process. The parametric uncertainties are norm-bounded appearing in all system matrices and the delay factor depends on the mode of operation. Notions of weak and strong stochastic stability for the jumping system are developed depending on the available information using a prescribed H∞-performance. Memoryless and delayed-state feedback are considered to guarantee the closed-loop stability. All the results are cast into linear matrix inequalities format. In this paper, we investigate a class of linear parameter-varying discrete time-delay (LPVDTD) systems where the state-space matrices depend on time-varying parameters and the delay is unknown but bounded. We treat both notions of quadratic stability based on a single quadratic Lyapunov function and affine quadratic stability using parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions. In both cases, we develop LMI-based results of stability testing for time-delay as well as delayless discrete-time systems. Then, we design state-feedback controllers which guarantee quadratic stability and an induced l[sub 2] -norm bound. For the case of dynamic output feedback control, we use a parameter-independent quadratic Lyapunov-Krasovskii function to develop LMI-based solvability conditions which are evaluated at the extreme points of the admissible parameter set. An output feedback controller is developed to provide stabilization for feedback-linearizable systems with asymptotically-stable non-linear actuators. The controller consists of a globally-bounded state feedback and a high-gain observer. It is established that if the actuator dynamics are sufficiently fast, then the developed output feedback controller will stabilize the origin of the closed-loop system regardless of how fast the observer is.
