En este artículo, por primera vez, se ponen en relación las teorías teatrales de dos dramaturgos españoles que crearon escuela: Lope de Vega y Leandro Fernández de Moratín. Dos siglos separan sus creaciones, pero ambos pretendieron renovar la escena con sus poéticas, ambos pretendieron una «nueva comedia» que rompiera con las tradiciones teatrales inmediatamente anteriores. Las obras dramáticas de uno y otro autor, en realidad se sitúan en polos opuestos en cuanto a su extensión; la de Lope abarca más de cuatrocientos títulos, mientras que Moratín apenas tiene en su haber media decena de piezas. El más fecundo e internacional poeta dramático español y el más comedido de entre los dramaturgos de amplio reconocimiento tienen en común una peculiar pretensión de reflejar con sus obras la realidad del mundo. Parafraseando al propio Lope, comoedia speculum humanae vitae podría utilizarse como lema de ambos. Partiendo del Arte nuevo de hacer comedias (1609) y La comedia nueva o el café (1792) desentrañamos la realidad teatral de ambos autores, contextualizándolas en sus respectivos momentos históricos., En aquest article, per primera vegada, s’hi posen en relació les teories teatrals de dos dramaturgs espanyols que van fer escola: Lope de Vega i Leandro Fernández de Moratín. Les seves creacions les separen dos segles, però tots dos van pretendre renovar l’escena amb les seves poètiques, tots dos van pretendre una «nova comèdia» que trenqués les tradicions teatrals immediatament anteriors. Les obres dramàtiques d’un i altre autor, en realitat se situen en pols oposats quant a la seva extensió; la de Lope abasta més de quatre-cents títols, mentre que Moratín a penes posseeix mitja desena de peces. El poeta dramàtic espanyol més fecund i internacional i el més moderat d’entre els dramaturgs d’ampli reconeixement tenen en comú una peculiar pretensió de reflectir amb les seves obres la realitat del món. Parafrasejant el mateix Lope, comoedia speculum humanae vitae podria utilitzar-se com a lema de tots dos autors. Partint de l’Arte nuevo de hacer comedias (1609) i La comedia nueva o el café (1792) desentranyem la realitat teatral d’ambdós autors, i les contextualitzem en els respectius moments històrics., In this article, for the first time, two Spanish influent dramatic theories are critically related: Lope de Vega and Leandro Fernández de Moratín.
