DC amplifier stages, specially designed for low noise measurement systems, have low feedback resistors. This approach ensures the lowest possible noise level at the amplifier output, which in this case will be determined only by the current and voltage noise of the operational amplifier. In this regard, situations are possible when the feedback current is significant, and this can lead to failure or degradation of the operational amplifier, as well as elements of the amplifier stage, including electronic digital potentiometers. The article describes the algorithms for protecting the components of low-noise DC amplifiers with a built-in microprocessor-based parameter control system. The paper describes in detail the conditions for the occurrence of critical situations, gives recommendations and requirements for a high-speed protection system. We have developed and researched algorithms for two types of protection - trigger protection and protection based on current limiting. Models of the amplifying stage and control system were implemented in the SimInTech simulation environment using standard and custom blocks made in the built-in programming language.
