C’est aussidepuis les villes que se sont puissamment exprimées les voix dessoulèvements des « printemps arabes » en 2011, dont les grandesmanifestations de 2019, à Alger, Bagdad ou Beyrouth, ont été leprolongement.Inédit dans sa forme, cet Abécédaire réunit une centaine d’auteurset dresse un panorama contemporain de la ville et de l’urbain aucroisement des disciplines et des approches. Il propose 42 noticesdédiées aux principales métropoles de la région (d’Abu Dhabi àTunis) assorties de 23 cartes, 64 notices thématiques (d’Aéroportsà Zones franches) et 40 courts textes consacrés à des oeuvres defiction, des événements ou des lieux emblématiques. Des dessinsoriginaux et des photographies illustrent l’ensemble.
