The article presents an analysis of insecticide-treated bednet (ITN) coverage for the prevention of malaria in Africa. Projected ITN coverage was computed among children aged less than five years for age-adjusted population data that were stratified according to proximate determinants of poverty, malaria transmission risks, and methods of ITN delivery. Researchers found that the present coverage of ITN in Africa remains inadequate. They explain that a focused effort to improve distribution in selected areas would have a substantial effect.
