The objective of the present work was to study the morphological features of the skin lesions inflicted by the blades of the Fgx Boot Blade I knives having four cutting edges. The study revealed the signs that can be used to distinguish between morphological characteristics of the stab and lacerated wounds having the primary and secondary incisions made by the four-edge blade.Цель исследования - изучение морфологии повреждений кожи, сформированных клинками ножей Fgx Boot Blade I с четырьмя режущими кромками. Выявлены признаки, по которым можно отличить морфологию этих повреждений от колото-резаных ран, имеющих основной и дополнительный разрезы, сформированные обоюдоострым клинком.

This article was designed to share the experience gained with the three-dimensional modeling for the purpose of situational expertise intended to reconstruct the occurrence circumstances and check up the alternative investigative leads concerning formation of potential injuries to a concrete person. Simulation was performed with the use of the dimensionally scaled model of the place of occurrence as well as the models of the human head and body totally consistent with the anthropometric characteristics of the victim. The results of this work made it possible to reject several potential opportunities for the formation of injuries to the victim and identify the most probable version.Представлен опыт применения трехмерного моделирования при выполнении ситуационной экспертизы с целью реконструкции обстоятельств происшествия и проверки альтернативных следственных версий о возможности образования повреждений у конкретного человека. При моделировании использовали масштабную модель места происшествия, а также модели туловища и головы человека, полностью соответствующие антропометрическим характеристикам пострадавшего. По результатам исследования ряд следственных версий о возможности образования повреждений у потерпевшего были исключены, а одна из версий признана наиболее вероятной.

The authors show the development of colonoproctology in the Vishnevsky Central Military Clinical Hospital N 3. The authors chose and described diagnostic possibilities of the proctologic center: videoendoscopy, ultrasonic diagnosis, computing technologies, methods of anatomical verification. The authors gave a characteristic of patients and methods of treatment. Almost half of all patients are oncology patients. Over the last decade 6750 patients were treated in the proctologic center, 1484 of them suffered with primary bowel cancer. 56,7% of patients suffered with colon cancer, 43,3%--rectal cancer. Special attention is paid to the patients with combat trauma. During the military conflicts on the North Caucasus 659 servicemen were treated in the hospital, 72 of them--with gunshot wounds of the colon. The majority of patients had bullet wounds, 15%--mine-blast injuries. All patients were operated on during the early stages of evacuation. Depending on character and location of injury patients were operated on properly. 68% of 72 patients suffered colon injuries, 32%--rectal injuries. 6 patients died (8,3%). The authors came to conclusion that organization and results of diagnostic and treatment, scientific and educational activity show the successful functioning of integration production treatment of patients with colonic pathology. The further ways of development are designed.

The present experimental study was designed to elucidate specific morphological features emerging from the destruction of diaphyses of long tubular bones undergoing a combined strain/stress impact. It is concluded that the species-specific signs of the injuries to the long tubular bones can be used for the purpose of their differential diagnosis from other types of injuries.

Trasologic characteristics of individual types of the dog's teeth and morphological features of skin wounds inflicted by a bite are presented. The data obtained may be used to discriminate these injuries from other wounds caused by sharp objects.

The authors analyze the activities of a group of forensic medical experts of the Khabarovsk Bureau of Forensic Medical Expert Evaluation working in the team for liquidation of the consequences of the catastrophe in the town of Neftegorsk. The principles of work organization in the field were demonstrated under conditions of the minimal financing and material supply. General recommendations on the preparation and equipment of forensic medics for work in far-away regions in a focus of disaster involving numerous victims are offered.

An enzyme-immunoassay system for the detection of specific antibody to herpes simplex virus was developed in which the antigen layered on the solid phase consisted of a crude extract of infected cells, and the detecting agent was a conjugate of protein A with horseradish peroxidase. This assay system was used for serological examination of 22 serum specimens from patients suffering from either meningoencephalitis or recurrent herpes of the skin and mucous membranes of the genitalia, as well as 6 specimens of the cerebrospinal fluid from patients with meningoencephalitis. The enzymeimmunoassay was found to be more sensitive than CFT. The advantages of using protein A/peroxidase conjugate for rapid estimation of the total amount of specific antibodies at any stage of herpes infection are discussed.

Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) has been adopted for simultaneous determination of the levels of antibodies to different influenza virus proteins in human sera with known haemagglutination-inhibition (HI) titre. Whole virus of serotypes H1N1 and H3N2, haemagglutinin (HA), matrix (M) and nucleoprotein (NP) proteins have been used as antigens. For detection of antibodies bound to the antigen, peroxidase labelled Staphylococcus protein A conjugate has been used. Correlation of the ELISA and HI titres of anti-HA antibody has been demonstrated. The use of isolated HA as antigen increased the specificity of ELISA. The analysis of human reconvalescent sera has shown that increase in the titre of antibodies to internal proteins does not always coincide with the increase of antibody level to HA. Out of 8 sera with significant increase of the HI titre to the H3 subtype 5 specimens showed 4-fold increase of antibody titre to NP protein. The antibody titre to M protein was elevated in 2 sera only, while 1 serum showed no rise of antibody response to the tested viral proteins.
