The aim of this study was to illustrate the role of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) DLEU1 in regulating the malignant progression of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) by targeting microRNA-194-5p (miRNA-194-5p).DLEU1 expression level in ccRCC tissues and para-cancerous tissues was determined by quantitative Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (qRT-PCR). The correlation between DLEU1 expression and pathological indexes of ccRCC patients was assessed. After the silence of DLUE1, the proliferative and migratory abilities of ACHN and 786-O cells were evaluated. Furthermore, Dual-Luciferase reporter gene assay and rescue experiments were conducted to identify the role of DLEU1/miRNA-194-5p in regulating the ccRCC progression in vitro.DLEU1 expression was markedly up-regulated in ccRCC tissues when compared with para-cancerous tissues. The rates of lymphatic metastasis and distant metastasis in ccRCC patients with a high level of DLEU1 were significantly higher, whereas the prognosis was significantly worse. Transfection of si-DLEU1 remarkably attenuated proliferative and migratory abilities of ACHN and 786-O cells. MiRNA-194-5p was identified as the target gene of DLEU1. In addition, the knockdown of miRNA-194-5p could reverse the regulatory effect of DLEU1 on the proliferative and metastatic abilities of ccRCC.DLEU1 is closely related to lymphatic metastasis, distant metastasis, and poor prognosis of ccRCC. It aggravates the progression of ccRCC by targeting miRNA-194-5p.

To compare the epidemiologic features (e.g. settings and transmission mode) and patient clinical characteristics associated with outbreaks of different norovirus (Nov) strains, we retrospectively analysed data of Nov outbreaks occurring in Guangzhou, China from 2012 to 2018. The results suggested that outbreaks of Nov GII.2, GII.17 and GII.4 Sydney exhibited different outbreak settings, transmission modes and symptoms. GII.2 outbreaks mainly occurred in kindergartens, elementary and high schools and were transmitted mainly through person-to-person contact. By contrast, GII.4 Sydney outbreaks frequently occurred in colleges and were primarily associated with foodborne transmission. Cases from GII.2 and GII.17 outbreaks reported vomiting more frequently than those from outbreaks associated with GII.4 Sydney.

To investigate the values of growth differentiation factor-15 (GDF-15) level in the diagnosis of primary liver cancer and evaluation of chemotherapeutic effect.92 patients with liver cancer treated from June 2015 to May 2016 were selected as liver cancer group; 53 patients with benign liver lesion were selected as benign liver disease group, and 40 healthy subjects receiving physical examination were selected as healthy control group. Fasting venous blood was drawn from objects of study in the early morning at 1 d after admission and at the last day after chemotherapy (liver cancer group), and the serum GDF-15 level was measured.The serum GDF-15 levels in patients in liver cancer group and benign liver disease group were significantly higher than those in healthy control group and benign liver disease group (p0.05). The serum GDF-15 levels in patients with stage III and IV liver cancer were significantly higher than those in patients with stage I and II liver cancer, and the serum GDF-15 level in patients with stage IV liver cancer was significantly higher than that in patients with stage III liver cancer (p0.05). There was no significant difference in serum GDF-15 level among patients with different clinical data (p0.05). The ROC curve analysis showed that the threshold value of GDF-15 was 1573.23 ng/L, and the sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy were 81.23%, 83.99%, and 83.62%, respectively. The serum GDF-15 level in patients with progressive disease was significantly higher than those in patients with partial remission and stable disease, and the serum GDF-15 level in patients with stable disease was significantly higher than that in patients with partial remission (p0.05).The serum GDF-15 level has certain clinical values in the diagnosis of primary liver cancer and evaluation of chemotherapeutic effect.

To investigate the incidence of malignant tumors in oral and maxillofacial region and the pathological features of various tumors, a total of 3 382 cases of malignant tumors in oral and maxillofacial region admitted to Jilin University from Januarary 2000 to December 2017. The characteristics of age, sex, location and pathological types of all kinds of tumors were analyzed. The median onset age is 57 years old, 51 to 70 years old is a high-risk age group, the ratio of male to female was 1.9∶1. The primary tumor location is tongue, gingiva and floor of mouth. Epithelial, lymphatic hematopoietic system, bone and soft tissue were the three major sources of tumor tissue, and squamous cell carcinoma was the most common pathological type (65.1%), followed by mucoepidermoid carcinoma and adenoid cystic carcinoma. In summary, oral and maxillofacial malignancies have a high incidence in elderly men, and tongue is the most common site of disease. Epithelial-origin and squamous cell carcinomas are the first of their origins and pathological types, respectively.选取2000年1月至2017年12月在吉林大学口腔医学院经病理确诊的3 382例口腔颌面部恶性肿瘤患者的病例资料，统计分析各类肿瘤的发病年龄、性别、部位、病理类型等构成特点，探讨口腔颌面部恶性肿瘤的发病情况及各种肿瘤病理的构成特点。口腔颌面部恶性肿瘤患者的中位发病年龄为57岁，51~70岁为高发年龄段，男女比例1.9∶1。原发部位主要为舌、牙龈和口底。肿瘤组织主要来源为上皮、淋巴造血系统、骨及软组织。病理类型以鳞状细胞癌最多见（2 203/3 382，65.1%），其次为黏液表皮样癌，腺样囊性癌。综上所述，口腔颌面部恶性肿瘤在老年男性中发病率较高，舌部发病者最多，上皮来源肿瘤和鳞状细胞癌分别为组织来源与病理类型的首位。.

To form a new assessment method to evaluate postural workload comprehensively analyzing the dynamic and static postural workload for workers during their work process to analyze the reliability and validity, and to study the relation between workers' postural workload and work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs).In the study, 844 workers from electronic and railway vehicle manufacturing factories were selected as subjects investigated by using the China Musculoskeletal Questionnaire (CMQ) to form the postural workload comprehensive assessment method. The Cronbach's α, cluster analysis and factor analysis were used to assess the reliability and validity of the new assessment method. Non-conditional Logistic regression was used to analyze the relation between workers' postural workload and WMSDs.Reliability of the assessment method for postural workload: internal consistency analysis results showed that Cronbach's α was 0.934 and the results of split-half reliability indicated that Spearman-Brown coefficient was 0.881 and the correlation coefficient between the first part and the second was 0.787. Validity of the assessment method for postural workload: the results of cluster analysis indicated that square Euclidean distance between dynamic and static postural workload assessment in the same part or work posture was the shortest. The results of factor analysis showed that 2 components were extracted and the cumulative percentage of variance achieved 65.604%. The postural workload score of the different occupational workers showed significant difference (P0.05) by covariance analysis. The results of nonconditional Logistic regression indicated that alcohol intake (OR=2.141, 95%CI 1.337-3.428) and obesity (OR=3.408, 95%CI 1.629-7.130) were risk factors for WMSDs. The risk for WMSDs would rise as workers' postural workload rose (OR=1.035, 95%CI 1.022-1.048). There was significant different risk for WMSDs in the different groups of workers distinguished by work type, gender and age. Female workers exhibited a higher prevalence for WMSDs (OR=2.626, 95%CI 1.414-4.879) and workers between 30-40 years of age (OR=1.909, 95%CI 1.237-2.946) as compared with those under 30.This method for comprehensively assessing postural workload is reliable and effective when used in assembling workers, and there is certain relation between the postural workload and WMSDs.

To investigate the effects of 1-(2,6-dimethylphenoxy)-2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenylethylamino) propane hydrochloride (DDPH) on cardiac systolic and diastolic function, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity, and LDH isoenzymes in rats with cardiac hypertrophy.The cardiac hypertrophy of rats was induced by partly occluding abdominal aorta. The rats were given i.g. DDPH for 8 wk 4 wk after operation, and isolated working heart was made.Eight wk later, in model group, left ventricle systolic pressure (LVSP), LV + dp/dtmax, -dp/dtmax and aorta pressure (AP) decreased by 20.2%, 20.0%, 41.4%, and 13.6%, respectively. Left ventricle ending diastolic pressure (LVEDP) increased by 173.9%. The hemodynamic study showed that flowing liquid of aorta (AF) and coronary (CF) and cardiac output (CO) decreased by 49.4%, 41.2%, and 48.9%, respectively. After the rats were given i.g. DDPH, the all above-mentioned parameters recovered to different degrees. Under condition of cardiac hypertrophy, LDH isoenzymes and subunits changed significantly. Isoenzymes LDH3, LDH4, and LDH5, especially LDH5 increased, LDH1 decreased, subunit M in hypertrophied heart increased 1.69 times than that in normal heart. DDPH could decrease subunit M and increase subunit H.DDPH can increase cardiac function, coronary flow and reverse changes of LDH isoenzymes in rats with cardiac hypertrophy.

The content of erythrocyte sorbitol could be reduced by ascorbic acid (AA). To confirm the effect of AA on human erythrocyte sorbitol accumulation and explore its mechanism of the action, we studied in vitro the effects of ascorbic acid on the contents of both sorbitol and glucose in human erythrocytes. The effect of AA on the ratio of sorbitol to glucose in erythrocyte (S/EG) which was referred to as a marker of aldose reductase (AR) activity was observed. Both the accumulation of erythrocyte sorbitol and S/EG were reduced by the addition of ascorbic acid (AA) during in vitro incubations. The sorbitol content in the erythrocyte and S/EG were reduced by a maximum of 87.3%, 83.4% and 93.8%, 63.9% when the medium's AA concentration was at its peak in the 5.6 mmol/L and 28 mmol/L glucose concentration of medium respectively. These suggested that the activity of polyol pathway could be inhibited effectively by AA which might directly act on the activity of AR. The results of a double-blind cross-over trial using AA tablets or inert inositol tablets in 8 diabetic patients showed that the supplementation of 1,000 mg AA/day continued for 2 weeks resulted in reductions of 12.2% and 21.8% in both erythrocyte sorbitol and red cell sorbitol: plasma glucose (S/PG) ratio, respectively (P0.05). The fasting plasma glucose levels measured coincidently revealed no changes (P0.05). This suggests that the supplementation of moderate AA (1,000 mg/day) might provide a simple, safe and effective means of preventing and ameliorating chronic complications of diabetes.

By means of radioimmunoassay, the mucosal substance P (SP) and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) concentration in distal ileum, transverse colon and sigmoid colon in 30 patients of chronic diarrhea with splenic weakness was determined and compared with that in 28 patients of chronic diarrhea without splenic weakness and in 15 controls without chronic diarrhea. In patients of chronic diarrhea with splenic weakness, the SP contents in the mucosa of distal ileum (120.95 +/- 90.70 pg/mg wet weight) was significantly increased compared with that in controls without diarrhea (47.86 +/- 35.49 pg/mg wet weight) and in chronic diarrhea without splenic weakness (52.50 +/- 42.49 pg/mg wet weight), P less than 0.01 and 0.01 less than P less than 0.05 respectively. The VIP contents of sigmoid mucosa in patients of chronic diarrhea with splenic weakness (510.63 +/- 265.22 pg/mg wet weight) was markedly increased in comparison of that in controls without chronic diarrhea (308.67 +/- 204.49 pg/mg wet weight), 0.01 less than P less than 0.05, and was not significantly augmented compared with that in chronic diarrhea without splenic weakness (398.97 +/- 240.80 pg/mg wet weight), but the tendency of increase was present. Our results suggested that the increased SP and VIP in patients of chronic diarrhea with splenic weakness might be closely related to the symptom of chronic diarrhea. According to the general function of VIP, the authors predicted that VIP might play a more important role in the pathogenetic action of chronic diarrhea with splenic weakness.

By immunocytochemical method and radioimmunoassay, the gastrin secreting cells (G cells) and gastrin concentration in antral mucosa, gastric juice and serum in 20 patients with duodenal ulcer (DU) were studied. The number of G cells and gastrin concentration in antral mucosa showed no significant difference as compared with normal control. The number of G cells in patients with DU and antral atrophy was much higher than those with antral atrophy but with DU. It indicated that G cells were increased in number in DU, and the gastrin concentration in gastric juice (271.11 +/- 255.25 pg/ml) was much higher than in sera (74.71 +/- 43.07 pg/ml). G cells were distributed in different parts of pyloric glands, showing that gastrin in gastric juice should come directly from G cells. The disturbance of feedback mechanism in regulating gastric acidity might be an important role in hypersecretion of gastric acid in DU. The increase of gastrin concentration in gastric juice might be closely related to hyperplasia of parietal cells.
