This article proposes an interdisciplinary approach to analyzing the problems associated with the introduction of digital technologies into industry, with special attention to artificial intelligence. The author offers a methodological framework based on the principles of lean manufacturing and artificial intelligence to eliminate the identified gaps. To improve the efficiency of production systems, a model is proposed that combines the principles of lean manufacturing with digital tools such as artificial intelligence. The introduction of a new concept and method of production process management requires a revision of the project management strategy and organizational practices. As one of the main results, a project is proposed aimed at introducing lean and digital production methods using modern digital technologies. The introduction of digital technologies has led to the appearance of preliminary results that allow the heads of production departments to make informed decisions based on up-to-date data. Enterprises using the potential of artificial intelligence demonstrate higher efficiency, complete orders ahead of schedule and benefit customers through innovative software and algorithms. This approach allows organizations to effectively manage their activities, providing value to customers and increasing their satisfaction. Issues related to Industry 4.0, digitalization and artificial intelligence play a key role in the context of business transformation, therefore, the study of these aspects can be valuable both for the academic community and for the practical activities of companies. Industry 4.0 is opening up new avenues for customers and manufactures. This is achieved by offering a larger pool of information to improve the manufacturing process and the manufactured products. However, with new technologies and equipment becoming available, the facilitation of information between customer to developer and products to manufacturing lines becomes a more challenging task. The need for suitable communication is gathered by an appropriate communication protocol. Discussed in this paper is the impact of the communication protocols within Industry 4.0, a creation and test of a newly developed communication protocol, a comparison of the said protocol against existing manufacturing protocols and elucidation of future work for communication protocols. This paper substantiates the selection of the most effective new economic and organizational tools, approaches and methods for national enterprises and regions of the mining industry that the Fourth industrial revolution offers. To this end, the role of the mining industry in the world in new conditions, its significance for Ukrainian economy and regions, areas, specializing in this field, are identified. A set of measures, which are based on the analysis of digital tools used by mining enterprises of the world, as well as on the study of the experience of applying advanced approaches and methods, have been offered for the development of the Ukrainian mining industry in conditions of the Fourth industrial revolution. This complex consists of proposals for enterprises of a technological and organizational feature, suggestions for government authorities, including of fiscal and monetary measures, and proposals for smart specialization in the Dnipropetrovsk region. It was defined that the most effective technologies for national enterprises are disruptive ones that ensure the creation of new equipment components and mechanisms, their smart technical maintenance, optimization of production process control, monitoring of health status and quality of safety. At the level of state authorities, it is advisable to introduce tax investment incentives, use traditional and alternative sources of financing, adhere federalism principles with respect to natural resources and fiscal decentralization, improve relations between mining enterprises and local jurisdictions using the capabilities of social ratings. At the regional level, it is proposed to build a regional industrial policy, based on conceptual foundations of smart specialization with the creation of a favourable market environment in the region through the use of soft fiscal and financial regulation tools, governmental R&D programs, and enabling conditions for the innovative development of the mining sector of the economy and its integration with other sectors. A new industrial revolution has begun. The development of digital technology as well as the implementation of advanced technologies, primarily in the manufacturing processes of the industry, all with the changes that are taking place at the global level of the economy imposed by the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0). The fourth industrial revolution implies changes in artificial intelligence, automotive industry, robotics, nanotechnology, quantum computers, ecommerce, etc. Also, the fourth industrial revolution means changes in the sectors of economy that use or produce innovative or new technologies, and where informationcommunication technologies are tools in creating virtual-digital channels of trade in which the trade is performed without business partners ever seeing each other. It took 75 years for the phone to start being used by 50 million people around the world, for the television it was about 13 years, while the Internet took only 4 years. The aim of the paper is to show that the successful functioning of the concept of e-commerce in the era of daily changes on a global level requires understanding of Internet technology, as well as Web and mobile platforms that make up the electronic commerce infrastructure. From the spectrum of innovations brought by Internet, the authors have chosen to explore the Internet as a platform for relocating trade to the digital network, on the one hand, and as a foundation for the development of new models of trade, better known in theory and practice as virtual trade, e-commerce, on the other hand.
