Abstract

In the intricate network environment, the secure transmission of medical images faces challenges such as information leakage and malicious tampering, significantly impacting the accuracy of disease diagnoses by medical professionals. To address this problem, the authors propose a robust feature watermarking algorithm for encrypted medical images based on multi‐stage discrete wavelet transform (DWT), Daisy descriptor, and discrete cosine transform (DCT). The algorithm initially encrypts the original medical image through DWT‐DCT and Logistic mapping. Subsequently, a 3‐stage DWT transformation is applied to the encrypted medical image, with the centre point of the LL3 sub‐band within its low‐frequency component serving as the sampling point. The Daisy descriptor matrix for this point is then computed. Finally, a DCT transformation is performed on the Daisy descriptor matrix, and the low‐frequency portion is processed using the perceptual hashing algorithm to generate a 32‐bit binary feature vector for the medical image. This scheme utilises cryptographic knowledge and zero‐watermarking technique to embed watermarks without modifying medical images and can extract the watermark from test images without the original image, which meets the basic requirements of medical image watermarking. The embedding and extraction of watermarks are accomplished in a mere 0.160 and 0.411s, respectively, with minimal computational overhead. Simulation results demonstrate the robustness of the algorithm against both conventional attacks and geometric attacks, with a notable performance in resisting rotation attacks. Abstract

To solve the problem of poor robustness of existing traditional DCT‐based medical image watermarking algorithms under geometric attacks, a novel deep learning‐based robust zero‐watermarking algorithm for medical images is proposed. A Residual‐DenseNet is designed, which took low‐frequency features after discrete cosine transformation of medical images as labels and applied skip connections and a new objective function to strengthen and extract high‐level semantic features that can effectively distinguish different medical images and binarise them to get robust hash vectors. Then, these hash vectors are bound with the chaotically encrypted watermark to generate the corresponding keys to complete the generation of watermark. The proposed algorithm neither modified the original medical image in the watermark generation stage nor required the original medical image in the watermark extraction stage. Moreover, the proposed algorithm is also suitable for multiple watermarks. 16. The Medical Image Watermarking Algorithm with Encryption by DCT and Logistic.

Abstract

When medical images transmitted and stored in hospitals, it require strict security, confidentiality and integrity. However, the transmission of wireless and wired networks has made the medical information vulnerable to attacks like tampering, hacking etc. And the ROI of medical image is unable to tolerate significant changes. In order to dealing these problems, we have proposed an algorithm that introducing the digital watermarking technology to increase the security of medical images. The scheme uses a part of sign sequence of DCT coefficients as the feature vector of images. It can avoid the sophisticated process of finding the Region of Interest (ROI) of medical images. At the same time, the watermarking image is encrypted by Logistic Map to enhance its confidentiality. The experimental results show that the scheme has strong robustness against common attacks and geometric attacks. 17. Robust multiple watermarks for medical image based on DWT and DFT.

Abstract

Medical images must be stored in a secure way to preserve unauthorized disclosure of patient data. This paper proposes an algorithm of robust multiple watermarks to serve these purposes using DWT and DFT. A part of sign sequence of DWT and DFT coefficients are used as feature vector for enhancing the robustness against rotation attacks, scaling attacks, translation attacks and cropping attacks. Moreover, the content of medical image remains unchanged with our proposed algorithm which is one kind of the zero-watermarking technology. We describe how to extract the feature vector of medical image, and then, embed and extract the multiple watermarks. Abstract

When designing watermarking algorithm of the medical image, one of the principal problems faced is how to determine the region of interest (ROI). This paper proposes a zero-watermarking algorithm of the medical image using DCT, which can effectively solve this problem. This algorithm can enhance medical image security, confidentiality and integrity in the application for the clinical. The algorithm combines the visual feature vector of images, encryption technology with the third party authentication, and avoids the selection of ROI to speed up watermarking embedding and extracting.
