Introduction: Endobronchial ultrasound‐guided transbronchial needle aspiration (EBUS‐TBNA) has emerged as a very useful tool for precise diagnosis of thoracic lesions. However, the procedure sometimes has a poor yield. Rapid on‐site evaluation (ROSE) in EBUS‐TBNA has been shown to be helpful to improve its diagnostic yield and minimise the need for repeat procedures. Most of the studies that have evaluated the utility of ROSE have focused on malignant lesions; however, it is important to understand its utility in benign lesions, particularly in a country with a high tuberculosis burden. Objective: This study was undertaken to evaluate the utility of ROSE in EBUS‐TBNA for the diagnosis of patients presenting with mediastinal lymphadenopathy and/or thoracic mass for benign and malignant pathologies. Methods: This was a prospective study including 47 patients who underwent EBUS‐TBNA for thoracic lesions (lung masses and hilar/mediastinal lymphadenopathy) over a 10‐month period at a single tertiary care centre. In addition to ROSE and definitive cytology, the aspirated material was also sent for cell block and microbiological studies. Endobronchial/transthoracic biopsy was conducted for histopathological evaluation (HPE) where required, at the discretion of the clinician. ROSE diagnosis was then compared with the final diagnosis. Results: Of the 47 patients examined using ROSE, granulomas were observed in 33 cases, non‐specific inflammation in six cases, and malignancy in five cases; one case was inconclusive and the sample was found to be inadequate in two cases. The ROSE assessment matched the final diagnosis in 84.45% patients. Conclusion: ROSE is a simple procedure that is able to provide an immediate and accurate assessment of adequacy and has a significant yield, enabling a preliminary diagnosis to be made in both benign and malignant samples. Introduction: Being at the forefront, health‑care workers (HCWs) have been at an increased risk of developing COVID‑19. Objectives: To understand the pattern of the clinical symptoms, transmission dynamics, intake of hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) prophylaxis and outcome in COVID‑19 positive HCWs. Methods: One hundred and fifty‑one COVID‑19 infected HCWs were telephonically followed up to study the exposure details, clinical presentation, comorbidities, HCQ prophylaxis, outcome and further transmission to their families. Results: The most commonly infected were doctors 60 (39.74%), followed by nursing staff (22.52%) and office staff (13.25%). Only 40 (26.49%) of infected staff was posted in COVID area. The most common source of exposure were patients (33.11%), followed by fellow staff members (28.48%) and 13 (8.61%) had contracted the disease from their family. Fever (74.17%) was the most common symptom followed by myalgia (43.71%), anosmia (37.75), sore throat (33.77%), ageusia (31.13%) and dry cough (28.48%). Three (1.99%) HCWs expired due to COVID‑19 and 23 (16.31%) transmitted infection to their family members. Conclusions: This study concludes that HCWs are at greater risk of acquiring infection, particularly while working in non COVID areas, contracting the virus mainly from patients and co‑workers. The utility of hydroxychloroquine for the prophylaxis and treatment of alarmingly rising COVID-19 infection has been widely explored in several studies. However, its cutaneous adverse effects among health care workers and COVID patients taking prophylactic doses has not been reported. We report cases of palmoplantar among health care workers who were on prophylactic doses of hydroxychloroquine and their management with cetirizine and methylprednisolone. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In modern era, with tremendous competition, long working hours and more demanding workstyle, nearly every profession is associated with some or the other health hazards. These may develop and progress rapidly or in a gradual way but ultimately add up unwanted morbidities and in long run affects the production and work output. Unfortunately, doctors and other health professionals who look after the health of society, are not the exceptions to this rule and depending upon their specialty, they have to face some or the other health issues. This article highlights some important though underestimated health issues among radiologists and some remedies.
