Maternal mortality rates are still high in several areas, including Bantul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta. Based on the data obtained from the Bantul District Health Office, from 2018 to 2019, 28 pregnant women died. Posyandu and Puskesmas cadres often encounter problems in collecting data on pregnant women because they still use manual methods. Manual records using books has disadvantages because sometimes pregnant women forget to bring their books. Therefore, an application for recording pregnancy history is needed to enable convenient monitoring by Posyandu cadres, Puskesmas, doctors, and hospitals in order that pregnant women patients can be handled properly in case of emergency. The application used by pregnant women is Mobile App-based, meanwhile, the Web-based Monitoring Information System is used by Posyandu cadres, Puskesmas, doctors, and hospitals. The application allows displaying the medical history and makes it easier for pregnant women to have counseling or examinations without meeting directly with the doctor. If there are any problems in the womb, the doctor will immediately provide a solution or recommendation. The results of the system testing with 15 respondents as users show that 52,1% strongly agree, 37,7% agree, and 10,2% neutral in response to the system interface. The implementation of the information system for monitoring high-risk pregnant women in the majority is accepted by all actors. Hence, it can be concluded that in an attempt to digitalize manual recording of pregnant women's examinations, this information system for monitoring high-risk pregnant women is reliable to be implemented.

Electronic medical records record electronic medical records which contain personal data, demographic data, social data, clinical / medical data. Processing of medical record documents at doctor's practice health facilities is still done manually, starting from patient registration, writing examination history, and storing medical record documents. One of the efforts to overcome these obstacles is by building an Electronic Medical Record website. The website development method uses the development life cycle system. Medical records are processed from input patient data, diagnostic data, action data, drug data, officer data, registration data, examination data. Then the data is processed to produce reports, including patient data, and examination data. The electronic medical record website used can simplify the processing of medical record data.

Weaver discusses the Where to Publish, a website that takes a user's keyword search and returns data to address several concerns. WTForms, a Python module for generating and validating form input in web platforms, receives the user's search terms. The site's core script uses the Biopython module, which includes the National Library of Medicine's Entrez application programming interface, to return journals ranked by the number of times the journal has published papers that fit the search criteria. Where to Publish uses Clarivate Analytics' journal impact factor (JIF) as an indicator of journal quality in two respects. The rapid growth in the number and diversity of Web APIs, coupled with the myriad of functionally similar Web APIs, makes it difficult to find most suitable Web APIs for users to accelerate and accomplish Mashup development. Even if the existing methods show improvements in Web APIs recommendation, it is still challenging to recommend Web APIs with high accuracy and good diversity. In this paper, we propose an integrated content and network-based service clustering and Web APIs recommendation method for Mashup development. This method, first develop a two-level topic model by using the relationship among Mashup services to mine the latent useful and novel topics for better service clustering accuracy. Moreover, based on the clustering results of Mashups, it designs a collaborative filtering (CF) based Web APIs recommendation algorithm. This algorithm, exploits the implicit co-invocation relationship between Web APIs inferred from the historical invocation history between Mashups clusters and the corresponding Web APIs, to recommend diverse Web APIs for each Mashups clusters. The method is expected to not only find much better matched Mashups with high accuracy, but also diversify the recommendation result of Web APIs with full coverage. Finally, based on a real-world dataset from ProgrammableWeb, we conduct a comprehensive evaluation to measure the performance of our method. Compared with existing methods, experimental results show that our method significantly improves the accuracy and diversity of recommendation results in terms of precision, recall, purity, entropy, DCG and HMD.

Aim. To develop an information basis for the formation and implementation of multimedia models for the diagnosis and treatment of depersonalized cases of cardiovascular diseases (virtual patients). Material and methods. The materials of the study were completed case histories and multimedia results of investigation of fifty patients who underwent hospital treatment. After an expert assessment of the completed clinical case, it was posted on the server. To provide remote access to content, web development technologies were used. Results. An information model of the medical process in text and multimedia formats has been formed. The virtual patient interface has been implemented in the form of marks appearing as new patient information is received, affecting the decision making. The structure of text and multimedia information on marks of various types is given. The implemented version of virtual patient technology provides web access to the demonstration of depersonalized medical process. Conclusion. During the project progress, a repository of virtual patients is created as a multimedia model for the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular pathology provided by web access. The repository will be used to enhance the diagnostic and treatment competencies of doctors through the demonstration and detailed analysis of completed disease cases. Virtual patients can become methodological basis for postgraduate education of doctors in the continuing medical education system.

Most websites use interactive online forms as the main contact point between users and website owners (e.g. companies, governmental institutions, ect.). Therefore, a proper design of such forms is crucial to allow smooth information exchange. It can be decisive on the success or failure of an online transaction. Users mostly visit a website with an intention that is related to the content of that site (e.g. purchasing an article, gathering information). Hence, they do not visit a website with the intention or goal of filling in a web form. Let us illustrate this with an online shopping example: Once users have chosen the items that they wish to buy, they want to finish their shopping as quickly, easily and safely as possible. But to successfully complete the shopping process users have to provide some personal data such as shipping address or credit card information. In the users perception, an online form may be perceived as a hurdle. There is evidence that unusable web forms lead to customers aborting the transaction prematurely, resulting in loss of profit (Wroblewski, 2008). To prevent such dropouts from the buying process, a revision of the form is necessary. A successful redesign of a suboptimal online form may result in an increased completion rate in the range of 10%-40% (Wroblewski, 2008). For instance, the eBay User Experience and Design Group reported that a redesign of the eBay registration form made a significant contribution to eBay’s business and user success (Herman, 2004). The World Wide Web contains a wide range of different web form design solutions for similar interface aspects and problems. Exemplarily, Figure 1 shows four different ways of implementing and communicating format restrictions to users. It can be seen, that even website developers of major companies choose very different ways to solve the same problems. This raises several important questions: Are these solutions equivalent or are there ways that lead to superior web forms in terms of an enhanced usability? Would it not be advantageous to use similar solutions for similar problems, so that predictability for users can be increased? Web mapping and the use of geospatial information online have evolved rapidly over the past few decades. Almost everyone in the world uses mapping information, whether or not one realizes it. Almost every mobile phone now has location services and every event and object on the earth has a location. The use of this geospatial location data has expanded rapidly, thanks to the development of the Internet. Huge volumes of geospatial data are available and daily being captured online, and are used in web applications and maps for viewing, analysis, modeling and simulation. This paper reviews the developments of web mapping from the first static online map images to the current highly interactive, multi-sourced web mapping services that have been increasingly moved to cloud computing platforms. The whole environment of web mapping captures the integration and interaction between three components found online, namely, geospatial information, people and functionality. In this paper, the trends and interactions among these components are identified and reviewed in relation to the technology developments. The review then concludes by exploring some of the opportunities and directions. Context FindHelpNowKY.org (FHNKY) is a drug overdose prevention website intervention developed and implemented in 2018 to timely link individuals to substance use disorder (SUD) treatment facilities with available openings in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. FHNKY is a near real time treatment locator where facilities update their openings on a regular basis. In February 2020, there were 607 facilities who participated on FHNKY and have updated their availability over 11,000 times; over 142,000 searches were performed. The website is used by health professionals, safety professionals, friends and family, as well as individuals themselves in search of SUD treatment. Process The FHNKY website was rebranded as a national FindHelpNow (FHN) platform that includes standardized national search criteria, and specifically branded marketing materials. Analysis A FHN peer-to-peer learning network was established for other states to utilize the national FHN platform and/or FHNKY strategies and approaches. Outcomes Fourteen interested states attended an in-person meeting with multiple presentations on website development, and functionality in November 2019. In February 2020, five states and jurisdictions adopted the FHN platform and recruitment strategies, and memorandums of understanding have been established. Learning Outcomes This initial development and implementation phase of a national standardized FHN platform will enhance the ability of any individual anywhere in the U.S., who seeks SUD treatment at their critical stage of readiness, to find a SUD treatment facility that accepts their form of payment (or fee-free), and provides necessary services such as the provision of medication for opioid use disorders and concurrent mental health treatment.

There has been recently a growth of interest in developing the current machine-readable Web towards the next generation of machine-understandable Web - Semantic Web. The development of the Web to a global business was reasonably fast, whereas Semantic Web development has taken time from a plan to be used as the mainstream Web. It is also important to note that the use of Semantic Web would only be successful in small technologies. However, the goal of Semantic Web is to be used in big technologies and to be the mainstream Web. Some challenges may impede make further progress of Semantic Web. In this review paper, an overview of the current status and future needs of Semantic Web will be presented. Specifically, the challenges and needs of Semantic Web in the hope of shedding some light on the adoption or infusion of Semantic Web in the future will be discussed. Then, a critical evaluation of these challenges and needs will be presented. Semantic Web has a clear vision. It is moving, in line with this vision, towards overcoming the challenges and usability in real world applications.

This study aims to develop a novel web-based decision support system for diabetic retinopathy screening and classification of eye fundus images for medical officers. The research delivers diabetic retinopathy information with a web-based environment according to the needs of the users. The proposed research also intends to evaluate the developed system usability to the target users. The complex characteristics of diabetic retinopathy signs contribute to the difficulty in detecting diabetic retinopathy. Therefore, professional and skilled retinal screeners are required to produce accurate diabetic retinopathy detection and diagnosis. The proposed system assists the communication and consultation among the medical experts in the hospital and the primary health cares located at the health clinics. The agile software development model is the methodology used for the development of this research project. The project collaborates with the Department of Ophthalmology, Hospital Melaka, Malaysia for the medical content expertise and testing. Representative medical officers from Hospital Melaka and all the public health clinics in Melaka were involved in the preliminary study and system testing. This research study consists of a web development producing an interactive web-based application of diabetic retinopathy consultation which comprises image processing and editing features as a core of the system. It is envisaged that this research project will contribute to the management of diabetic retinopathy screening among medical officers.

The blood is a connective tissue in the body and one of the most critical elements of human life. The shortage of this life-saving fluid has become a recurrent problem to deliver medical care in many countries, because in emergencies, relatives of patients run around to get specific blood type when unavailable at the medical institution, without adequate information on the closest available source. While there are existing blood bank management systems that help locate available blood bank centers with the needed blood type, they do not provide information on the nearest center and donor. This research therefore developed a web based system that provides information for the discovery of the blood bank centers and human donors with the highest proximity during emergencies. Web development technologies were used, and the Google Map API was used to track, calculate and display the location of each blood bank and donor. The system thus aid users in obtaining blood faster rather than going from one hospital to another in search for a specific blood type to reduce the number of deaths caused by lack of blood during emergencies.

Background Substance use disorders (SUD) have steadily increased over the last two decades. Seeking SUD treatment involves searching SUD treatment facility types (inpatient, outpatient and intensive outpatient, residential and family residential, and detoxification facilities) that offer specialized SUD treatment depending on individual needs and preferences. Referrals to SUD treatment require innovative strategies that rapidly link individuals to SUD treatment when they are at the critical stage of readiness. The aim of this study was to develop, implement, and evaluate a user-friendly SUD treatment facility opening availability website called FindHelpNowKY.org. The objectives of the study were to 1) recruit SUD treatment facility and partner participation; 2) develop platform, content, and analytics for the FindHelpNowKY.org website intervention with an information repository; 3) assess barriers and facilitators to implementation; and 4) evaluate the development and implementation of FindHelpNowKY.org. Methods Website development stakeholders were identified and the website concept was developed. The logic model for FindHelpNowKY.org outlined resources, activities, and outputs as well as the associated short-term, medium-term, and long-term objectives, along with a website evaluation plan. Website usability and focus group testing was conducted. Information repository resource documents were compiled and categorized. An inventory of Kentucky-based SUD treatment facilities was compiled using various state and federal resources. Results Development/implementation barriers were addressed, facilitators were identified, and the website was implemented; 83% of SUD treatment facilities were indexed on the website, and average website user time was 7 min. From February to October 2018, there were 29,000 visitors, and 30,000 unique searches. The most common website query was a friend or family member seeking long-term residential or outpatient treatment facilities accepting Medicaid or Medicare. Conclusions FindHelpNowKY.org has the potential to fill a critical need for timely access to available SUD treatment in the state. The website may be a valuable resource for health professionals that can enhance clinical workflow and reduce staff time conducting phone and website searches for available SUD treatment. The website is a promising tool for assessing current SUD treatment capacity vs. SUD treatment need. The FindHelpNow model can be used by other states to increase timely access to SUD treatment.

Residents have a limited time to be trained. Although having a highly variable caseload should be beneficial for resident training, residents do not necessarily get a uniform distribution of cases. By developing a dashboard where residents and their attendings can track the procedures they have done and cases that they have seen, we hope to give residents a greater insight into their training and into where gaps in their training may be occurring. By taking advantage of modern advances in NLP techniques, we process medical records and generate statistics describing each resident’s progress so far. We have built the system described and its life within the NYP ecosystem. By creating better tracking, we hope that caseloads can be shifted to better close any individual gaps in training. One of the educational pain points for radiology residency is the assignment of cases to match a well-balanced curriculum. By illuminating the historical cases of a resident, we can better assign future cases for a better educational experience.

The aim of this paper is to develop a Personal Health Record (PHR) for the support of pregnant women. With this goal in mind, concepts such as PHR and their importance in the obstetrics field are overviewed, as well as mobile development strategies. The system was developed with the support of a medical institution and taking into account what pregnant women find useful. The developed app is a Progressive Web App (PWA). This is a recent technology that allows the same app to work on most devices, gives a native feel to it when using on mobile devices and enables offline support. Website development is becoming a growing concern for all organizations in this world. However the process and lifecycle involved in their development is still uncertain. The Web based system development usually involves more heterogeneous stakeholders as compared to traditional software’s development construction. The process models used for the development of websites stands borrowed from the traditional software development approaches. The process of website development involves several fields of web engineering and multimedia applications which require altogether a different skill set and development processes. The growth of web based system has been exponential. An estimated size of public web and deep web has reached to 40 billion pages and where the pages are assembled on the fly in response to the user requests touches between 400 and 750 billion pages, respectively. The web based system size is continuously expanding like the universe after the big bang. Many researchers and practitioners have noted the rapid growth of internet for commercial purposes since its birth in 1990’s. The web presence allows small companies to compete comparatively at par with large enterprises which increases keenness for every organization to develop a website. An increase in the amount of web development work, forces the designers/webmasters working in different website development houses to carry out work in a well planned and systematic manner. The concerned organizations and different web development houses must, however follow specific methodologies/standards/guidelines recommended by various organizations for advancement in present web development process models. The adoption of traditional methodologies of web development leads to the production of poorly designed web applications which show variable performance across different browsing platforms and have high probability failure rate. This propagates in the lack of confidence during web development and ultimately moves towards Web-Crisis. In order to avoid Web-Crises, there is a desperate need of designing and developing the newer process models that are especially concerned with website development. As such there is a need of disciplined approach towards the development of web-based systems. Researches also suggest that there is a non uniform approach in web based systems development. The authors suggest that a specialized model for web development needs to be designed and developed to satisfy the dynamic categories of the stakeholders present worldwide. This paper discussed about the various traditional software and web development models popularly used in developing web applications and their suitability and effectiveness is compared which leads to the development of a successful web based applications. Various reasons which differentiate the traditional software development from web system development have also been worked out. The presences of specific features recommended in proposed framework are also tested by available methodologies. Finally, an initial framework is proposed which caters to the need of specific web development process model.

Proliferation of Web services based applications, collaboration and interoperability between companies, extremely heterogeneous policies of security, and, more generally, reply attacks over Internet are major challenges in the design of security infrastructures for Web services. In this paper, we focus our study on authentication of composite Web services. Authentication is certainly at the heart of any secure system. Thus, we propose a distributed model of authentication based on the circle of trust concept for composite Web services. This model has several functionalities: First, it ensures authentication for arbitrary composite Web services over Internet. Second, it can process across and beyond domain authentication boundaries. Third, it takes over the conflicts of security policies using the concept of Web Single Sign On (SSO) and client's profile using ontologies. Furthermore, the proposed model is scalable and dynamic because it is designed in a fully distributed manner, there are no central points and it evolves over time. An implementation of a prototype and a simulation design demonstrate that a strong security can be achieved for both the client and the composite Web service through the combination of a dynamic and collaborative trust model with a number of enhancements: (i) a combined encryption technique, (ii) a distributed authority of certificates, and (iii) semantic annotations.

Technological advances allow more physical objects to connect to the Internet and provide their services on the Web as resources. Search engines are the key to fully utilize this emerging Web of Things, as they bridge users and applications with resources needed for their operation. Developing these systems is a challenging and diverse endeavor due to the diversity of Web of Things resources that they work with. Each combination of resources in query resolution process requires a different type of search engine with its own technical challenges and usage scenarios. This diversity complicates both the development of new systems and assessment of the state of the art. In this article, we present a systematic survey on Web of Things Search Engines (WoTSE), focusing on the diversity in forms of these systems. We collect and analyze over 200 related academic works to build a flexible conceptual model for WoTSE. We develop an analytical framework on this model to review the development of the field and its current status, reflected by 30 representative works in the area. We conclude our survey with a discussion on open issues to bridge the gap between the existing progress and an ideal WoTSE.

Web usage mining is a knowledge discovery technique where a data analyst can discover useful information from the web users’ data. Web contains billions of web pages. The web access behaviour of one web user differs from that of another and also it changes with respect to their temporal property. By analyzing the users’ data, the web administrator can personalize the web pages according to individual web users’ interest. Personalizing the web page gives various advantages in this fast era such as low search time, less data transfer, higher availability of data, lower bandwidth traffic, targeted advertisement and identifying the threaded web users and high web users satisfaction. Due to the above advantages, it is very much essential in the present World Wide Web. Various algorithms, techniques and tools are available in the field of web usage mining. Although there are various techniques, algorithms and tools developed related to web usage mining, new techniques are required to make the discovery of knowledge more accurate. In this paper, a novel technique is proposed by using various methods such as web log, web ranking, web rating and web review based method to identify the success rate of various web pages and summarize the value to identify the accurate success rate of each web page. The success rate is normalized and aggregated into three categories for personalizing the web user. Personalizing the web user based on grouping relevant web access behaviour reduces the calculation complexity. It is very effective in very large websites. This technique is very much effective for analyzing the outreach of web advertisement to the web users.

International audience; This editorial introduces the special issue based on the best papers from ESWC 2015. And since ESWC'15 marked 15 years of Semantic Web research, we extended this editorial to a position paper that reflects the path that we, as a community, traveled so far with the goal of transforming the Web of Pages to a Web of Resources. We discuss some of the key challenges, research topics and trends addressed by the Semantic Web community in its journey. We conclude that the symbiotic relation of our community with the Web requires a truly multidisciplinary research approach to support the Web's diversity.

Mashups are agile applications that aggregate RESTful services, developed by third parties, whose functions are exposed as Web Application Program Interfaces (APIs) within public repositories. From mashups developers’ viewpoint, Web API search may benefit from selection criteria that combine several dimensions used to describe the APIs, such as categories, tags, and technical features (e.g., protocols and data formats). Nevertheless, other dimensions might be fruitfully exploited to support Web API search. Among them, past API usage experiences by other developers may be used to suggest the right APIs for a target application. Past experiences might emerge from the co-occurrence of Web APIs in the same mashups. Ratings assigned by developers after using the Web APIs to create their own mashups or after using mashups developed by others can be considered as well. This article aims to advance the current state of the art for Web API search and ranking from mashups developers’ point of view, by addressing two key issues: multi-dimensional modeling and multi-dimensional framework for selection. The model for Web API characterization embraces multiple descriptive dimensions, by considering several public repositories, that focus on different and only partially overlapping dimensions. The proposed Web API selection framework, called WISeR (Web apI Search and Ranking), is based on functions devoted to developers to exploit the multi-dimensional descriptions, in order to enhance the identification of candidate Web APIs to be proposed, according to the given requirements. Furthermore, WISeR adapts to changes that occur during the Web API selection and mashup development, by revising the dimensional attributes in order to conform to developers’ preferences and constraints. We also present an experimental evaluation of the framework.

To deal with such issues the present study recommends an easy and adaptable electronic platform for e-psychology systems by using ICT tools and services and can be used to deal with various health (physical & mental) issues of adolescents. A model named “YUVA” based on RWD (responsive web development) which can run on any desktop or mobile phones is suggested for the benefit of adolescents trying to cope up with psychological issues. The purpose of this application is to provide information concerning different issues like health, education, recent studies, Government Initiatives etc. It incorporates several facilities like self assessment tests, registration facility for counsellors, dieticians, instructors etc. so that they can be contacted at the hour of need. The implementation is provided on .NET platform for wide deployment and adaptability.

This article illustrated the development of a web simulation system based on Matlab distributed parallel cluster. The web simulation system construct a visual and controllable simulation interface using javascript and Asynchronous JavaScript and XML(AJAX) technology. In order to realize the Matlab resources dynamic allocation and management, elastic resources management method has been adopted. To achieve the multi-user concurrent access, the resource management system has been designed by adopting principle of feedback control and principle of Apache Hadoop Yet Another Resource Negotiator(YARN). The feasibility of this system demonstrated through application of simulation and practical use.

Purpose The purpose of this research is to facilitate the full potential of the web for the people with disabilities. People with disabilities may fail to make full use of the potentials offered by the web even if they have the right hardware (computer and assistive technologies) as well as access to the internet because of the lack of accessibility. Design/methodology/approach This research outlines the guidelines that provide the foundation for building an accessibility-aware framework approach, where people with disabilities can access most of the electronic contents based on their disability levels. Findings The framework helps web engineers in developing accessible web pages for all types of users. Disability profile examples (blindness, low vision, deafness and hard of hearing) were taken to determine the performance of the framework approach. Research limitations/implications The validation and testing was carried out on the Sultan Qaboos University website. The framework approach could be further validated by performing the tests on various other public and private websites. Practical implications The guidelines can be used as a road map to overcome accessibility challenges during any web application development life cycle. A proper testing and evaluation is carried out on the framework to test its usability. Social implications Although people with disabilities are perhaps the segment of society which are expected to gain the most from these technologies, they are facing barriers to access the contents of the web because of the way it is presented. This proposed framework could assist all the people with the disability of blindness and hearing impairment to have a better experience with the internet, making the technology more beneficial and usable to them. In the future, this approach can be extended for the people with other disabilities. Originality/value This research provides a pioneering concept for accessibility-aware framework approach. This approach could be utilized for developing accessible web applications and electronic services for people with disabilities. The proposed framework can be used as a road map to overcome accessibility challenges during any web application development life cycle.

The maturation of the Web platform has given rise to sophisticated and demanding Web applications such as interactive 3D visualization, audio and video software, and games. With that, efficiency and security of code on the Web has become more important than ever. Yet JavaScript as the only built-in language of the Web is not well-equipped to meet these requirements, especially as a compilation target. Engineers from the four major browser vendors have risen to the challenge and collaboratively designed a portable low-level bytecode called WebAssembly. It offers compact representation, efficient validation and compilation, and safe low to no-overhead execution. Rather than committing to a specific programming model, WebAssembly is an abstraction over modern hardware, making it language-, hardware-, and platform-independent, with use cases beyond just the Web. WebAssembly has been designed with a formal semantics from the start. We describe the motivation, design and formal semantics of WebAssembly and provide some preliminary experience with implementations.

Web access and web resources open many horizons, their usage increases in all life aspects including government, education, commerce and entertainment, where the key to such resources lies in Web browsers. Acknowledging the importance of universal accessibility to web resources, the W3C has developed a series of guidelines into a Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), with the goal of providing access to web resources for people with disabilities. In order to bridge the gap in the digital divide between the disabled and the non-disabled people, the authors believe that the development of novel assistive technologies using new human-computer interfaces will go a long way towards achieving this lofty goal. In this paper, they present a P300 Electroencephalography Brain-controlled Web browser to enhance the accessibility of people with severe motor disabilities to Web resources. It enhances their interaction with the Web taking their needs into account. The proposed Web browser satisfies the Mankoff's requirements of a system that would “allow true web access.”

In recent era of cloud computing, web service technology has become the most important and popular technology to generate and provide dynamic web services. The utility computing and on-demand services are the basic characteristics of cloud computing, where any legacy web application can be converted into dynamic web services as per the requirements. Some web services need to be combined with defined business logic or rules to satisfy the customer. Web service composition is the cost-effective way of developing combined services for any web application. Web services are services with standard interfaces that provide specific functionality of application. Web services are usually implemented using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA). Web services are combined to make two or more web services communicate with each other to provide combined functionality. To make service oriented architecture effective, services needs to be identified and defined correctly. In this paper, a methodology is defined to identify, implement and combine the web services for an e-learning application. An E-learning application is created by using various web services and combined by specifying certain rules. E-learning is an electronic educational technology where the e-learning portal is implemented using SOA approach. The paper aims at three main objectives: web services creation, composition of web services and handling the exceptions for composition. The four main web services considered for e-learning application are contents, quiz, assignment and forum. Web services are combined using Orchestration and Choreography techniques and compared with the response time of the services execution

Background: The Humanitarian Emergency Settings Perceived Needs Scale (HESPER) assesses a wide range of physical, psychological and social perceived needs across 26 questions, and can be used in humanitarian emergencies and disasters for needs assessment or research studies. The original HESPER collects data through individual interviews. Today, a large number of people have access to the internet, including in humanitarian emergencies and disasters. Therefore, this paper aimed to report the development, reliability evaluation and feasibility evaluation of the HESPER Web. Methods: First, the original HESPER was developed into a web based survey. Thereafter, alternate forms reliability between the HESPER and HESPER Web, and test-retest reliability for the HESPER Web, was evaluated using a study sample of 85 asylum seekers in Sweden in total. Results: The alternate forms reliability evaluation showed that the HESPER Web was a reliable instrument to assess perceived needs. Intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) for total number of serious needs was 0.96 (CI 0.93–09.98, p < 0.001). Cohen’s κ was used to analyse the alternate forms reliability between the HESPER and HESPER Web item per item; the correspondence between HESPER and HESPER Web varied between 0.54 and 1.0 for the 26 questions. There was a strong nominal association in first priority need between the HESPER and HESPER Web (Cramer’s V 0.845, p < 0.001). In the test-retest reliability evaluation of HESPER Web, ICC was 0.98 (CI 0.97–0.99, p < 0.001), and Cohen’s κ varied between 0.53 and 1.0. There was a strong nominal association in first priority need between test and re-test (Cramer’s V 0.93, p < 0.001). The HESPER Web was experienced as easy and safe to use and was found less time consuming than the original HESPER interview, according to the study participants. Conclusion: The HESPER Web is a reliable and usable instrument to assess perceived needs. The recent increase of aging population across Europe and the rest of the globe represents one of the most radical demographic changes in the history of humankind. The increase of ageing society will have a vast impact on governments, families, individuals and companies. Humans getting older has deeply modified societies, making it possible that three or more generations live together within the same environment. Due to the advent of digital environments, it is important that the needs of older generations are adequately taken into account when it comes to modern communication. In recent years, there has been a lot of research on necessary usability standards within website development for the aged generation, however a functioning usability is not the only point to consider for a successful realization of a digital product. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to study and describe which criteria in terms of Joy-of-Use can help to motivate older people to use digital applications. The underlying research in this paper is divided in two parts, in the first part experts in the field of ageing society have been interviewed using non-structured interview guidelines, to get a better understanding and validate the findings within the literature review. In the second part of the study, people over the age of 60 years have been interviewed, to understand which criteria of Joy-of-Use motivates them to use digital applications. The results of this research will provide recommendations for the development of digital projects for senior generation.

Many resources provided on the Web are part of sets of resources that are provided in a context that is managed by one particular service provider. Often, these sets of resources are referred to as "Web Services" or "Web APIs". This specification defines link relations for representing relationships from those resources to ones that provide documentation, descriptions, or metadata for these Web services. Documentation is primarily intended for human consumers, whereas descriptions are primarily intended for automated consumers; metadata is supposed to be information about a service's context. It also defines a link relation to identify status resources that are used to represent operational information about service status.

The European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI) provides access to a wide range of core databases and analysis tools that are of key importance in bioinformatics. As well as providing web interfaces to these resources, web services are available using REST and SOAP protocols that enable programmatic access and allow their integration into other applications and analytical workflows and pipelines. This article describes the various options available to researchers and bioinformaticians who would like to use our resources via the web interface employing RESTful web service clients provided in Perl, Python, and Java, or would like to use Docker containers to integrate the resources into analysis pipelines and workflows. © 2019 by John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

The aim of the project is to build a Web-based IDE (Integrated Development Environment) that enables users to create a Web application in PHP on the CakePHP framework. The view component of the IDE allows the users to build the CakePHP view templates, which include the HTML tags which can be properly linked with the controller functions. Users will be able to create the HTML form elements only by performing certain drags, drops and clicks. This project will create dynamic view elements, which is achieved by connecting them to the Controllers components. This IDE helps the users to create dynamic web pages even without good knowledge of HTML and server side scripting languages.

This paper addresses the architecture and implementation of a medical drawing management system. The system enables physicians to draw directly on a patient picture or built-in anatomical templates of a body part. It contains modules for querying patient data and managing associated drawings including sketching, uploading, and sharing features. The system adapts to embed Windows-based applications into web pages; the web-based applications contain Windows-based graphical tools and enable seamlessly incorporating necessary drawing modules into the web-based healthcare information system at National Taiwan University Hospital. The system provides a web-based sketching capability that effectively support practitioners’ daily operations, as well as the use of paperless, digitizing patient records, and ultimately, will improve the overall quality of healthcare.

This research paper proposes experimental support to secure round trip engineering and use of security performance flexibility trusted operating systems for the designing of secure web applications. In this research paper, to address security concerns, we suggest use of trusted operating systems as a platform to run these web applications. For improving the performance of these web applications, we observe that all security checks in a trusted operating system are not necessary. As per our suggestion, various unnecessary security checks can be skipped by administrator, so that system performance of these web applications can improve. These unnecessary security checks, system calls and operations can be easily identified at the time of requirements elicitation. For example, as we know, the popular web servers deal with public information. The majority of this information is publicly readable and available to all users, but these users should not be able to alter this data. This research paper aims to support the efficiency of object-oriented class-based programming and object-oriented modeling in secure software development. The round trip engineering for the development of complex web applications, helps developers in code restructuring, identify probable bugs or deficiencies for probable improvements and helps from the analysis phase to the maintenance phase.

In the last few years, many security researchers proposed to endow the web platform with more rigorous foundations, thus allowing for a precise reasoning on web security issues. Given the complexity of the Web, however, research efforts in the area are scattered around many different topics and problems, and it is not easy to understand the import of formal methods on web security so far. In this survey we collect, classify and review existing proposals in the area of formal methods for web security, spanning many different topics: JavaScript security, browser security, web application security, and web protocol analysis. Based on the existing literature, we discuss recommendations for researchers working in the area to ensure their proposals have the right ingredients to be amenable for a large scale adoption.

Medical libraries have a history of providing quality health information. Consumers who search the Internet on their own often find out-of-date, biased, or invalid information. A strong library web presence is the best approach to connecting consumers to reliable, online resources. However, hospital web development teams focus on strategic initiatives and are not always accommodating to the web page needs of medical librarians. Utilizing LibGuides and aligning the content of web pages with hospital approved sites, librarians at a large academic medical center successfully curated modern pathfinders that are attractive, easily updated, and acceptable to hospital leadership. This article details the creation, content selection, and usage of the pathfinder guides.

Rapid web technology improvements in the last few years have powered software developers to quickly write responsive mobile-friendly applications. The innovative web frameworks and libraries make it easy to have same software code base for desktop and mobile devices. Single-page applications offer a more-native-app-like experience to the user. This also means a web application can easily be converted to a native mobile application if desired. This allows software products to be evolved continuously at a much faster pace with features added on daily basis. The software companies who can adopt these technologies will most likely see the benefit in the long run as they can offer new and modified products faster than their competitors. In this paper, we review some of the state-of-the-art web technologies, third-party libraries, and frameworks for quick interactive web development. Finally, we present a simple interactive browser-based, mobile friendly web application which was developed using one of the latest web development framework.

International audience; The web was originally conceived as decentralized and universal, but during its popularization, its big value was built on centralized servers and nonuniversal access. A key element to redecentralize the web is to be able to generate trustable, secure, and accountable updates among autonomous participants without a central server. The authors believe that the marriage between distributed ledgers and linked data can provide this functionality and unlock the web's true potential. As a first step toward it, the authors propose a minimal vocabulary to describe and link distributed ledgers.

This paper provides various PHP programming framework (CakePHP2, CodeIgniter, Symfony2, Yii and PhalconPHP) popularity overview and comparison using various criteria. Based on the data obtained during the study two frameworks were selected for deeper analysis - Symfony2 and PhalconPHP. This article offers a description of the architecture and main features of selected frameworks (routing, template engine, etc.). During framework comparison a performance test was developed with a goal to determine performance and effectiveness of frameworks during the same task. For performance testing a Ticket Reserving System cashier list section was chosen. Tests were performed using ab.exe (Apache Benchmark) tool that comes with the Apache Web server. Based on the comparison results recommendations are made that allow Web developers to choose a framework for creating a real-world Web project. It is planned to expand the developed Web system capabilities using Web services that are based on open standards and protocols (SOAP, XML-RPC, REST, etc.).

This paper proposes a context-aware semantic planning graph technique for Web services composition. We first use an ontology based context model for extending Web services descriptions with information about the most suitable context for its use. Then, we transform the composition problem into a semantic context aware graph planning problem to build a set of best composed Web services based on user’s context. The construction of the planning graph is based on semantic context-aware Web service discovery. This allow, for each step of the construction, to add most suitable Web services in terms of semantic compatibility between the services parameters, and their context similarity with the user’s context. In the backward search step, semantic and contextual similarity scores are used to find composed Web services list. Finally, in the ranking step, a score is calculated for each candidate solution and a set of ranked solutions is returned to the user.
