Musculoskeletal diseases, such as osteoarthritis (OA), nonspecific back pain (NBP), and periarticular soft tissue pathology (PSTP – tendinitis, enthesitis, bursitis, etc.) are one of the most common reasons for visiting general practitioners. The treatment of this pathology is based on the complex use of drugs and non-drug methods for maximum pain control and lost function restoration. Considering the common pathogenesis of musculoskeletal pain in OA, NBP, and PSTP, it is advisable to base the therapy of these diseases on a single algorithm. Of course, when prescribing treatment, one should take into account "red flags" (symptoms of life threatening diseases), features of the clinical course, patient's psycho-emotional condition, and comorbid diseases.Development of a unified tactic for the treatment of musculoskeletal pain will significantly reduce the time spent on a diagnostic search and the choice of adequate therapy, which will facilitate the work of a general practitioner. Thus, non-drug approaches (patient education, kinesiotherapy, psychotherapeutic methods, etc.), non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and symptomatic slow-acting drugs (SYSADOA) seem to be the most rational approach in the debut of the treatment of OA, NBP and PSTP. Among NSAIDs, celecoxib seems to be one of the optimal drugs in terms of efficacy and safety, and among SYSADOAs – diacerein. There is evidence that the combined use of these drugs may increase their analgesic and anti-inflammatory potential.

Teething of temporary teeth in children is a natural and physiological process. However, in some cases, it can be accompanied by numerous unpleasant symptoms, such as fever, decreased appetite, anxiety in the child, sleep disturbance and indigestion. Knowledge of the physiology of teething, anatomical and physiological characteristics and factors affecting the process of teething of temporary teeth in children is important for the timely provision of assistance to such children. The article describes in detail the duration of teething, mechanisms, age and constitutional peculiarities during teething, the causes of pathological teething (dentitio difficiLis). The authors provided symptoms and differential diagnosis of delayed eruption of the teeth - the teething syndrome and presented methods and techniques for reducing pain intensity. The advantages and disadvantages of the main drugs that are used to treat the teething syndrome are also outlined: anti-infLammatory drugs (acetaminophen, ibuprofen), topical drugs (gels, ointments), homeopathic preparations. Particular attention is paid to the advantages of homeopathic combination preparations, which are highly effective, safe and provide a minimal pharmacological Load on the child’s body. CLinicaL cases of children aged 6.5 months and 8 months with teething symptoms and the use of a homeopathic combination preparation are presented. Positive changes were observed: heaLth improvement, anxiety reLief, fever reLief, appetite improvement. This case has demonstrated how non-drug measures, mother support and homeopathic preparations can effectiveLy heLp treat the baby’s teething syndrome without using non-steroidaL anti-infLammatory drugs and topicaL preparations.

The review represents the results of investigations into the role of nondrug methods in the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis (OA). The data available in the literature suggest that a number of non-drug technologies, first of all exercise therapy, aquatic therapy, reflexotherapy, electrical stimulation, and electromagnetic therapy, have proven efficiency and a certain potential for reducing the risk of osteoporosis and its complications and for improving bone metabolism. Expanding the range of these methods and increasing their validity for clinical introduction are very promising.
