Diabetic nephropathy (DN) represents one of the most devastating complications for patients with diabetes. The anti-diabetic activities of Magnoflorine (MF) were reported, with underlying mechanism unknown. Lysine-specific demethylase 3A (KDM3A) was identified in the renal injuries. In the current study, we investigated the functional role of MF in DN progression with the involvement of KDM3A. We reported that in the animal model of DN induced by streptozotocin (STZ) injection, MF attenuated inflammatory response and fibrosis in the kidneys. In cultured mesangial cells, MF similarly ameliorated abnormal proliferation and lowered the expression of inflammation- and fibrosis-related factors stimulated by high glucose (HG) treatment. Upon MF treatment, there was a decline in KDM3A-positive cells in renal tissues of rats, accompanying an augment in KDM3A ubiquitination. KDM3A upregulation in vitro by a proteasome inhibitor MG132 comparably dampened the inhibitory role of MF in inflammatory response and fibrosis. Further analyses revealed that MF increased transforming growth factor β-induced factor 1 (TGIF1) transcriptional activity by promoting ubiquitination and degradation of KDM3A, thus inhibiting the activation of TGF-β1/Smad2/3 signaling pathway. TGIF1 silencing weakened the repressive role of MF in mesangial cells as well. In conclusion, MF contributes to TGIF1 transcription via an epigenetic mechanism.

TGF-β1-induced excessive deposition of ECM and EMT process of tubular epithelial cells play critical roles in the development and progression of fibrosis in diabetic nephropathy (DN). Orai1 has been demonstrated to be involved in TGF-β1-induced EMT via TGF-β/Smad3 pathway. We are aimed to explore the effects of miR-93 on TGF-β1-induced EMT process in HK2 cells. In this study, our data showed that miR-93 was dramatically decreased in renal tissues of patients with DN and TGF-β1-stimulated HK2 cells. Moreover, the decreased level of miR-93 was closely associated with the increased expression of Orai1. Overexpression of miR-93 decreased Orai1 expression, and then suppressed TGF-β1-mediated EMT and fibrogenesis. Next, we predicted that the Orai1 was a potential target gene of miR-93, and demonstrated that miR-93 could directly target Orai1. SiRNA targeting Orai1 was sufficient to suppress TGF-β1-induced EMT and fibrogenesis in HK2 cells. Furthermore, Overexpression of Orai1 partially reversed the protective effect of miR-93 overexpression on TGF-β1-mediated EMT and fibrogenesis in HK2 cells. Taken together, Orai1 and miR-93 significantly impact on the progression of TGF-β1-mediated EMT and fibrogenesis in HK2 cells, and they may represent novel targets for the prevention strategies of fibrosis in the context of DN. Vascular calcification is a major complication of maintenance hemodialysis patients. Studies have confirmed that calcification mainly occurs in the vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMC) of the vascular media. However, the exact pathogenesis of VSMC calcification is still unknown. This study shows that the crosstalk between calcium and aldosterone via the allograft inflammatory factor 1 (AIF-1) pathway contributes to calcium homeostasis and VSMC calcification, which is a novel mechanism of vascular calcification in uremia. In vivo results showed that the level of aldosterone and inflammatory factors increased in calcified arteries, whereas no significant changes were observed in peripheral blood. However, the expression of inflammatory factors markedly increased in the peripheral blood of uremic rats without aortic calcification and gradually returned to normal levels with aggravation of aortic calcification. In vitro results showed that there was an interaction between calcium ions and aldosterone in macrophages or VSMC. Calcium induced aldosterone synthesis, and in turn, aldosterone also triggered intracellular calcium content upregulation in macrophages or VSMC. Furthermore, activated macrophages induced inflammation, apoptosis, and calcification of VSMC. Activated VSMC also imparted a similar effect on untreated VSMC. Finally, AIF-1 enhanced aldosterone- or calcium-induced VSMC calcification, and NF-κB inhibitors inhibited the effect of AIF-1 on VSMC. These in vivo and in vitro results suggest that the crosstalk between calcium ions and aldosterone plays an important role in VSMC calcification in uremia via the AIF-1/NF-κB pathway. Local calcified VSMC induced the same pathological process in surrounding VSMC, thereby contributing to calcium homeostasis and accelerating vascular calcification.

A number of studies have shown that aldosterone serves an important role in promoting renal interstitial fibrosis, although the specific mechanism remains to be elucidated. A previous study revealed that the fibrotic effect of aldosterone was associated with the expression of allograft inflammatory factor 1 (AIF‑1) in RAW264.7 macrophage cells, in a time‑ and concentration‑dependent manner. However, the exact mechanism through which aldosterone promotes renal interstitial fibrosis remains unknown. In the present study, the effects of aldosterone on renal inflammatory cell infiltration, collagen deposition and the expression levels of AIF‑1, phosphatidylinositol 3‑kinase (PI3K), AKT serine/threonine kinase (AKT), mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), the oxidative stress factor NADPH oxidase 2 (NOX2) and nuclear transcription factor erythroid‑related factor 2 (Nrf2) were assessed in normal rats, rats treated with aldosterone, rats treated with aldosterone and spironolactone and those treated with spironolactone only (used as the control). The effect of aldosterone on these factors was also investigated in the renal interstitium of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) rats. Additionally, the AIF‑1 gene was overexpressed and knocked down in macrophage RAW264.7 cells, and the effects of aldosterone on PI3K, AKT, mTOR, NOX2 and Nrf2 were subsequently investigated. The results showed that aldosterone promoted inflammatory cell infiltration, collagen deposition and the expression of AIF‑1, PI3K, AKT, mTOR and NOX2, but inhibited the expression of Nrf2. In the UUO rats, aldosterone also promoted renal interstitial inflammatory cell infiltration, collagen deposition and the expression of AIF‑1, NOX2, PI3K, AKT and mTOR, whereas the expression of Nrf2 was downregulated by aldosterone compared with that in the UUO‑only group; the influence of aldosterone was counteracted by spironolactone in the normal and UUO rats. In vitro, aldosterone upregulated the expression levels of AKT, mTOR, NOX2 and Nrf2 in RAW264.7 cells compared with those in untreated cells. Suppressing the expression of AIF‑1 inhibited the effects of aldosterone, whereas the overexpression of AIF‑1 enhanced these effects in RAW264.7 cells. These findings indicated that aldosterone promoted renal interstitial fibrosis by upregulating the expression of AIF‑1 and that the specific mechanism may involve AKT/mTOR and oxidative stress signaling.

Vascular calcification is a strong independent predictor of increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality and has a high prevalence among patients with chronic kidney disease. The present study investigated the effects of quercetin on vascular calcification caused by oxidative stress and abnormal mitochondrial dynamics both in vitro and in vivo. Calcifying vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) treated with inorganic phosphate (Pi) exhibited mitochondrial dysfunction, as demonstrated by decreased mitochondrial potential and ATP production. Disruption of mitochondrial structural integrity was also observed in a rat model of adenine-induced aortic calcification. Increased production of reactive oxygen species, enhanced expression and phosphorylation of Drp1, and excessive mitochondrial fragmentation were also observed in Pi-treated VSMCs. These effects were accompanied by mitochondria-dependent apoptotic events, including release of cytochrome c from the mitochondria into the cytosol and subsequent activation of caspase-3. Quercetin was shown to block Pi-induced apoptosis and calcification of VSMCs by inhibiting oxidative stress and decreasing mitochondrial fission by inhibiting the expression and phosphorylation of Drp1. Quercetin also significantly ameliorated adenine-induced aortic calcification in rats. In summary, our findings suggest that quercetin attenuates calcification by reducing apoptosis of VSMCs by blocking oxidative stress and inhibiting mitochondrial fission.

Cardiovascular diseases are common in patients with chronic kidney disease. One of the key symptoms is the calcification of the vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs), which is induced by dysregulated mineral metabolism with high circulating levels of inorganic phosphate (Pi) and calcium. Klotho, which was originally identified as an aging suppressor gene, has been shown to be associated with vascular calcification. Since Klotho was recently identified as a target for nuclear receptor peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor (PPAR) γ, the present study aimed to determine whether PPARγ regulates VSMC calcification through modulating the expression levels of Klotho. It was demonstrated that the expression of PPARγ was downregulated during Pi-induced VSMC calcification. In addition, treatment with PPARγ agonists inhibited the calcification and enhanced the expression of Klotho in VSMCs in a PPARγ-dependent manner. Of note, loss of Klotho expression by RNA interference abolished the ability of PPARγ activation to inhibit VSMC calcification. Furthermore, activation of Klotho as well as PPARγ inhibited the expression of Pi transporter 1/2 and reduced Pi influx into VSMCs. To the best of our knowledge, the present study was the first to demonstrate that PPARγ regulates VSMC calcification through activating Klotho.

Objective: The objective was to increase the understanding of vascular access in hemodialysis and evaluate hemodialysis-related anticoagulation treatments and the associated hemorrhagic or thrombotic complications. Materials and Methods: In this study, an epidemiological investigation was conducted in 1175 patients who underwent hemodialysis in seven blood purification centers in northern Chinese. The patients were divided into two groups based on the vascular access they used: Arteriovenous fistula (AVF) group and central venous catheter (CVC) group. The similarities and differences of anticoagulation and hemorrhagic, thrombotic complications were compared between two groups. Results: Arteriovenous fistula was the most frequently used vascular access, and heparin was the most commonly used anticoagulant. Patients in CVC group experienced significantly greater rates of low molecular weight heparin (LMWH) administration and had a higher rate in achieving thrombotic complications than those in AVF group. There were no significant differences in LMWH dosages in patients with thrombotic complications, as well as the proportion of patients who received anti-platelet drugs. Heparinized catheter lock solutions were excessively high in this study, which may lead to a risk of hemorrhage. Conclusion: Hemodialysis-related anticoagulation treatments in China require additional improvements, especially for the patients using CVC as vascular access. There is an urgent need to develop clinical evaluation studies of anticoagulation treatments for achieving more standardized and targeted treatments.

Macrophages have been identified as a key cell type in the pathogenesis of renal interstitial fibrosis (RIF). However, the mechanism through which macrophages drive fibrosis remains unclear. The current study focuses on the effects and possible underlying mechanism of allograft inflammatory factor‑1 (AIF‑1), an inflammation‑responsive scaffold protein expressed and secreted by macrophages, in promoting fibroblasts to a profibrotic phenotype. In vivo experiments indicated that AIF‑1, CD68 and α‑smooth muscle actin (α‑SMA) were upregulated in kidney tissues of mice subjected to unilateral ureteric obstruction, while their expressions were inhibited by an aldosterone receptor antagonist, spironolactone. Double immunofluorescence staining revealed that AIF‑1 expression co‑localized with CD68‑positive macrophages in the renal interstitium, indicating that AIF‑1 expression in macrophages was increased in the RIF animal model. Furthermore, to identify the role of AIF‑1 in promoting fibrosis, its expression and secretion by the RAW264.7 macrophage cell line were detected in vitro. The expression levels of α‑SMA, phosphorylated p38 (p‑p38) and fibronectin (FN) in fibroblasts were examined subsequent to co‑culture with macrophages. The increase in AIF‑1 expression and secretion was confirmed in RAW264.7 cells in response to aldosterone. After 72 h of co‑culture between fibroblasts and macrophages stimulated with aldosterone, the α‑SMA expression was induced in fibroblasts, with significantly increased expression levels of FN and p‑p38 observed. In addition, AIF‑1 expression was reduced by stable transfection of RAW264.7 cells with AIF‑1 small interfering RNA, resulting in significantly reduced expression levels of α‑SMA, p‑p38 and FN in fibroblasts co‑cultured with macrophages as compared with normal macrophages. These findings indicate that the expression of AIF‑1 in macrophages is critical for the activation of renal fibroblasts to a profibrotic phenotype. AIF‑1 expression was upregulated in macrophages, and may be a novel mechanism linking macrophages to the promotion of RIF via the p38 signaling pathway.

Peritoneal fibrosis is a complication of patients with long-term continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD). Reports have indicated that angiotensin (Ang) II may correlate with the development of peritoneal fibrosis. However, it is unknown whether aldosterone also has a role in the development of peritoneal inflammation and fibrosis. The aim of the present study was to clarify the role of aldosterone in peritoneal inflammation and fibrosis. A rat model of peritoneal inflammation and fibrosis was established by daily intraperitoneal injection of dialysates and lipopolysaccharide in a 4-day interval over a period of 7 days. The animals were randomly assigned to five groups as follows: control (C); peritoneal dialysis (PD); peritoneal dialysis-spironolactone (PD-S); peritoneal dialysis-cilazapril (PD-C); and peritoneal dialysis-spironolactone-cilazapril (PD-SC). After 30 days, the TGF-β1 concentration in dialysates from all treatment groups was determined by ELISA. The histopathology of the parietal peritoneum was examined, and the expression of MCP-1, c-Jun, fibronectin (FN) and TGF-β1 in the abdominal membrane was determined by immunohistochemistry. Mineralocorticoid receptor (MR), 11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 2 (11β-HSD2) and CYP11B2 (aldosterone synthase) were analyzed by real time-PCR. Collagen deposition was significantly higher in PD compared with the other groups. The expression of MR, 11β-HSD2 and CYP11B2 was significantly higher in PD compared with the other groups. Spironolactone and/or cilazapril treatment partially ablated the increase in monocyte chemoattractant protein (MCP)-1, p-c-Jun, transforming growth factor (TGF)-β1, FN, MR, 11β-HSD2 and CYP11B2. Furthermore, treatment with spironolactone and/or cilazapril also reduced the infiltration of CD-4- and ED-1-positive cells in rat peritoneal tissues after peritoneal fibrosis. Exogenous aldosterone may have a key role in the development of peritoneal inflammation and fibrosis. Spironolactone decreased peritoneal inflammation and fibrosis, which was associated with reduced secretion from peritoneal macrophages, inactivation of the c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) pathway and subsequent downregulation of the expression of TGF-β1.

IntroductionStarting dialysis early or late both result in a low quality of life and a poor prognosis in patients undergoing haemodialysis. However, there remains no consensus on the optimal timing of dialysis initiation, mainly because of a lack of suitable methods to assess variations in dialysis initiation time. We have established a novel equation named DIFE (Dialysis Initiation based on Fuzzy-mathematics Equation) through a retrospective, multicentre clinical cohort study in China to determine the most suitable timing of dialysis initiation. The predictors of the DIFE include nine biochemical markers and clinical variables that together influence dialysis initiation. To externally validate the clinical accuracy of DIFE, we designed the assessment of DIFE (ADIFE) study as a prospective, open-label, multicentre, randomised controlled trial to assess the clinical outcomes among patients who initiate dialysis in an optimal start dialysis group and a late-start dialysis group, based on DIFE.Methods and analysisA total of 388 enrolled patients with end-stage renal disease will be randomised 1:1 to the optimal start dialysis group, with a DIFE value between 30 and 35, or the late-start dialysis group, with a DIFE value less than 30, using the Randomization and Trial Supply Management system. Participants will be assessed for changes in signs and symptoms, dialysis mode and parameters, biochemical and inflammatory markers, Subjective Global Assessment, Kidney Disease Quality of Life Short Form, Cognitive Assessment, medical costs, adverse events and concomitant medication at baseline, predialysis visiting stage and postdialysis visiting stage, every 12–24 weeks. The following data will be recorded on standardised online electronic case report forms. The primary endpoint is 3-year all-cause mortality. The secondary endpoints include non-fatal cerebrocardiovascular events, annual hospitalisation rate, quality of life, medical costs and haemodialysis related complications.Ethics and disseminationEthical approval was obtained from the Ethics Committee of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University China (registration no: YJ-KY-2017–119) and the ethics committees of all participating centres. The final results of the ADIFE trial will be presented to the study sponsor, clinical researchers and the patient and public involvement reference group. Background.This study investigated whether quercetin could alleviate vascular calcification in experimental chronic renal failure rats induced by adenine.Methods.32 adult male Wistar rats were randomly divided into 4 groups fed normal diet, normal diet with quercetin supplementation (25 mg/kg·BW/d), 0.75% adenine diet, or adenine diet with quercetin supplementation. All rats were sacrificed after 6 weeks of intervention. Serum renal functions biomarkers and oxidative stress biomarkers were measured and status of vascular calcification in aorta was assessed. Furthermore, the induced nitric oxide synthase (iNOS)/p38 mitogen activated protein kinase (p38MAPK) pathway was determined to explore the potential mechanism.Results.Adenine successfully induced renal failure and vascular calcification in rat model. Quercetin supplementation reversed unfavorable changes of phosphorous, uric acid (UA) and creatinine levels, malonaldehyde (MDA) content, and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity in serum and the increases of calcium and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity in the aorta (P<0.05) and attenuated calcification and calcium accumulation in the medial layer of vasculature in histopathology. Western blot analysis showed that iNOS/p38MAPK pathway was normalized by the quercetin supplementation.Conclusions.Quercetin exerted a protective effect on vascular calcification in adenine-induced chronic renal failure rats, possibly through the modulation of oxidative stress and iNOs/p38MAPK pathway.

Development of vascular calcification in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and end-stage renal disease (ESRD) leads to increased cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. The mechanism of vascular calcification in CKD patients remains unclear. This study is aimed to evaluate the clinical association between abnormal Wnt pathways and incidence of vascular calcification in ESRD patients. A total of 41 ESRD patients were enrolled in this study. Tissue samples of radial arteries were obtained during arteriovenous fistula surgery. Expression of Wnt pathways was assessed by immunohistochemistry with antibodies against catenin, GSK-3beta and Wnt-5a. Correlation analysis was performed to evaluate the association between Wnt activities and vascular calcification rates. Immunohistochemical stainings demonstrated that increased expressions of β-catenin, GSK-3beta and Wnt-5a were mostly observed in the subjects with vascular calcification. Further correlation analysis identified that β-catenin expression in overall arterial samples was significantly associated with the expressions of GSK-3beta and Wnt-5a. We also found significant correlation between expressions of GSK-3beta and Wnt-5a in the studied samples. The multivariate logistic regression analysis demonstrated that Wnt-5a was an independent risk factor for vascular calcification in patients with ESRD. Our study identifies increased activation of Wnt pathways in the arteries of patients with ESRD, which is significantly correlated with the incidence of vascular calcification. These findings support Wnt pathways as a potential target for future therapy of vascular calcification in CKD.

Increasing evidence shows that aldosterone and specific microRNAs (miRs) contribute to vascular smooth muscle cell (VSMC) calcification. In this study, we aim to explore the mechanistic links between miR-34b/c and aldosterone in VSMC calcification. VSMC calcification models were established both in vitro and in vivo. First, the levels of aldosterone, miR-34b/c and special AT-rich sequence-binding protein 2 (SATB2) were measured. Then, miR-34b/c mimics or inhibitors were transfected into VSMCs to evaluate the function of miR-34b/c. Luciferase reporter assays were used to demonstrate whether SATB2 was a direct target of miR-34b/c. Aldosterone and SATB2 were found to be markedly upregulated during VSMC calcification, whereas miR-34b/c expression was downregulated. Treatment with the mineralocorticoid receptor (MR) antagonist eplerenone inhibited VSMC calcification. In aldosterone-induced VSMC calcification, miR-34b/c levels were downregulated and SATB2 protein was upregulated. Furthermore, miR-34b/c overexpression alleviated aldosterone-induced VSMC calcification as well as inhibited the expression of SATB2 protein, whereas miR-34b/c inhibition markedly enhanced VSMC calcification and upregulated SATB2 protein. In addition, luciferase reporter assays showed that SATB2 is a direct target of miR-34b/c in VSMCs. Overexpression of SATB2 induced Runx2 overproduction and VSMC calcification. Therefore, miR-34b/c participates in aldosterone-induced VSMC calcification via a SATB2/Runx2 pathway. As miR-34b/c appears to be a negative regulator, it has potential as a therapeutic target of VSMC calcification.

The objective of this study was to determine the expression of miR-483 and miR-483* and the relationship among them, their host gene (Igf2), and other cytokines in a murine model of renal fibrosis. The extent of renal fibrosis was visualized using Masson staining, and fibrosis was scored 3 days and 1 and 2 weeks after unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO). Expression of miR-483, miR-483* and various cytokine mRNAs was detected by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Expression of miR-483 and miR-483* was significantly upregulated in the UUO model, particularly miR-483 expression was the greatest 2 weeks after surgery. Additionally, miR-483 and miR-483* expression negatively correlated with Bmp7 expression and positively correlated with Igf2, Tgfβ, Hgf, and Ctgf expression, as determined by Pearson's correlation analysis. Hgf expression significantly increased at 1 and 2 weeks after the surgery compared to the control group. This study showed that miR-483 and miR-483* expression was upregulated in a murine UUO model. These data suggest that miR-483 and miR-483* play a role in renal fibrosis and that miR-483* may interact with miR-483 in renal fibrosis. Thus, these miRNAs may play a role in the pathogenesis of renal fibrosis and coexpression of their host gene Igf2.

Background: The role of aldosterone has been less investigated compared to the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system in renovascular hypertension. The purpose of the present study was to compare the effects of a selective aldosterone receptor blocker, eplerenone (EP), and an angiotensin II receptor type 1 antagonist (AT1RA), losartan (LO) on cardiac and renal damage produced by two-kidney, one-clip (2K-1C) renovascular hypertension in rats. Method: Wistar rats (n = 48) were placed on one of six groups. Group 1 received sham operation. From group 2 to 6, all rats were made as 2K-1C renovascular hypertension. Group 2 received vehicle. Group 3 orally received 100 mg/kg/day of EP from the initiation of the study. Group 4 received 100 mg/kg/day of LO, from the initiation of the study. Groups 5 and 6 received EP and LO from the 4th week after the clipping respectively. Systolic blood pressure (SBP) and urinary protein excretion (UPE) were measured before and every 2 weeks. The remnant kidney was obtained for histopathological analysis and for measurement of endothelial cell nitric oxide synthase (ecNOS) gene expression (GE). Results: SBP increased in the placebo group (132.1 ± 2.4 vs. 115.0 ± 0.6 mm Hg in sham group at week 10, p = 0.019). Treatment with LO or EP from the beginning of the study decreased SBP significantly as measured in the sham group at week 10. The placebo group developed significant UPE (21.7 ± 1.9 mg/day) compared with the sham group (13.4 ± 0.8 mg/day, p < 0.05). Treatment with both LO (12.5 ± 1.5 mg/day, p < 0.01 vs. placebo) and EP (14.8 ± 1.0 mg/ day, p < 0.05 vs. placebo) significantly decreased UPE. On the other hand, the late start of treatment with EP failed to decrease the increased UPE. UPEs were not significantly different between the LO- and EP-treated groups throughout the study. There was no significant pathological change in heart and kidney in all groups. In heart, ecNOS GE was significantly increased in the EP-treated (from the beginning of the study) rats compared with placebo group (0.47 ± 0.01 vs. 0.43 ± 0.01, p < 0.05). LO did not have an effect on ecNOS GE in heart. In aorta, ecNOS GE was significantly increased in the two EP-treated groups compared with the placebo group (0.22 ± 0.01, 0.22 ± 0.02 vs. 0.15 ± 0.01, p < 0.05, respectively). LO also did not have an effect on ecNOS GE in aorta. In kidney, ecNOS GE was significantly increased in the LO group (from the beginning of the study) and two EP-treated groups compared with placebo. Conclusion: This study demonstrated that EP treatment significantly reduced SBP and UPE compared with placebo in both development and established 2K-1C renovascular hypertension. EP was as effective as LO in lowering the blood pressure of this renin-dependent animal model.

Background and Objective: Magnoline is an active ingredient of magnolia fargesii with anti-inflammatory and anti-platelet effects. The objective is to explore the renoprotection of magnoline in diabetic rats and its effects on P-selectin. Methods: Thirty-six rats were randomized into 4 groups—normal control group (C), diabetic group (D), small-dose magnoline treatment group (M1) and large-dose magnoline treatment group (M2) (n=9 in each group). Streptozotocin was selected to construct diabetic rat model, and group M1 and group M2 were treated with magnoline 0.5mg/Kg.d and 2mg/Kg.d respectively. Urinary albumin excretion rate, renal function, levels of P-selectin and TGF-β1 were observed after 16 weeks. Results: Levels of albuminuria and serum creatinine of group M1 (1078.9 ± 77.3μg/24h, 29.7 ± 3.9μmol/L) and M2 (852.9 ± 80.1μg/24h, 30.9 ± 2.9μmol/L) were lower than group D (1572.8 ± 176.2μg/24h, 39.4 ± 4.1μmol/L) (P Conclusions: Magnoline has reno-protective effects on diabetic rats which may be related to the inhibition of P-selectin.
