In this paper, we present a novel surface imprinting technique for the preparation of molecularly imprinted polymers/multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MIPs/MWNTs) for extraction of emodin from kiwi fruit root. The MIPs/MWNTs were characterised by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). The properties involving adsorption dynamics, static adsorption, and selective recognition capacity were evaluated. The MIPs/MWNTs exhibited good site accessibility in which it only took 60 min to achieve adsorption equilibrium and highly selective recognition for the template emodin. Furthermore, the performance of the MIPs/MWNTs as solid phase extraction (SPE) material was investigated in detail. The proposed MIPs/MWNTs-SPE procedure for emodin exhibited satisfactory recoveries ranging from 89.2% to 93.8% for real samples. A highly sensitive and selective molecularly imprinted (MIP) sensor combined with magnetic molecularly imprinted solid phase extraction (MMISPE) was developed for the determination of dibutyl phthalate (DBP) in complex matrixes. The magnetic molecularly imprinted polymer (MMIP) was synthesized as solid phase extraction (SPE) sorbet to extract DBP from complex matrixes and as sensing element to improve the selectivity of the imprinted sensor. The morphologies of MMIP and MIP-sensor were characterized by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The electrochemical performances of MIP-sensor were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and differential pulse voltammetry (DPV). The conditions of preconcentration, elution and electrochemical determination were studied in detail. Under the optimized experimental conditions, the response currents of the MIP-sensor exhibited a linear relationship towards DBP concentrations ranging from 1.0 × 10(-8)g/L to 1.0 × 10(-3)g/L. The limit of detection of the MMIP-sensor coupled with the MMISPE was calculated as 0.052 ng/L. Novel magnetic multi-walled carbon nanotubes@Fe(3)O(4) molecularly imprinted polymers (MWNTs@Fe(3)O(4)-MIPs) intended for bovine serum albumin (BSA) recognition were successfully developed. The MWNTs@Fe(3)O(4)-MIPs were characterized with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Scanning electron microscopy images showed that the Fe(3)O(4) nanoparticles (diameter: 50-60 nm) were coated with a layer of MIPs with an average thickness of 25-30 nm. The magnetic material was easily dispersed and retrieved through the application of an external magnetic field. Adsorption experiments showed that the estimated maximum amount of BSA that could be adsorbed onto the MWNTs@Fe(3)O(4)-MIPs was 52.8 mg/g, and the time taken to reach equilibrium was about 40 min. Meanwhile, the MWNTs@Fe(3)O(4)-MIPs exhibited excellent selectivity towards (i.e., recognition of) BSA. The feasibility of the use of the MWNTs@Fe(3)O(4)-MIPs as a solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbent was evaluated, and the results showed that the MWNTs@Fe(3)O(4)-MIPs were able to separate the template protein BSA from a binary protein solution. The proposed sorbent based on MWNTs@Fe(3)O(4)-MIPs for BSA separation exhibited satisfactory recoveries ranging from 92.0% to 97.3% in real samples. It was also successfully used for the purification of BSA from bovine calf serum.

A new surface imprinting technique was reported to synthesize multi-walled carbon nanotubes-molecularly imprinted polymers (MWNTs-MIPs) using erythromycin as the template, acryloyl-β-cyclodextrin (acryloyl-β-CD) and methacrylic acid (MAA) as the binary functional monomers. The MWNTs-MIPs were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron micrograph (SEM) and Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Adsorption experiments indicated the MWNTs-MIPs prepared with acryloyl-β-CD and MAA have high selective for erythromycin. The feasibility of the MWNTs-MIPs as solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbent was evaluated, and the results showed that it can selectively extract erythromycin from chicken muscle samples with the recoveries ranging from 85.3% to 95.8%. Abstract: Herein, a novel imprinted sol–gel electrochemical sensor based on multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) doped with chitosan film on a carbon electrode has been developed. Prior to doped, the MWNTs have been decorated with Fe3O4 nanoparticles which have been coated uniformly with SiO2 layer. The characterization of imprinted sensor has been carried out by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The performance of the proposed imprinted sensor has been investigated using cyclic voltammetry and differential pulse voltammetry. The imprinted sensor offers a fast response and sensitive benzylpenicillin quantification. The fabricated benzylpenicillin imprinted sensor exhibits a linear response from 5.0×10−8 to 1.0×10−3 molL−1 with a detection limit of 1.5×10−9 molL−1. For samples analysis, perfect recoveries of the imprinted sensor for benzylpenicillin indicated that the imprinted sensor was able to detect benzylpenicillin in real samples successfully. Abstract: A novel sensitive and selective imprinted electrochemical sensor was successfully constructed for the direct detection of l -histidine by combination of a molecular imprinting film and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs). The sensor was fabricated onto an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode via stepwise modification of MWNTs and a thin film of molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) via sol–gel technology. The introduced MWNTs exhibited noticeable enhancement on the sensitivity of the MIPs sensor. Meanwhile, the molecularly imprinted film displayed high sensitivity and excellent selectivity for the target molecule l -histidine. The proposed imprinted sensor was characterized by using scanning electron microscope (SEM) and electrochemical methods involving cyclic voltammetry (CV), differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) and amperometric i–t curve. A linear ranging from 2.0μmolL−1 to 1.0mmolL−1 for the detection of l -histidine was observed with the detection limit of 5.8×10−9 molL−1 for S/N =3.
