The static and dynamic mechanical properties and fire behaviors for long‐glass‐fiber reinforced polyamide 6 composite filled with organo‐modified montmorillonite/brominated epoxy resins/antimony trioxide (OMMT/FR/LGFPA6) have been investigated by comparison with the formulation without OMMT (FR/LGFPA6), being dealt with accelerated aging condition. Relative to the unaged composites, both aged composites presented the improved static mechanical properties after 10‐day aging, the increased degree of cross‐linking in the amorphous region, and the increased LOI value as well as maintained the optimal UL‐94 rating. However, after a long‐time aging exposure, the aged FR/LGFPA6 composite was more flammable and its mechanical properties were more severely impacted by aging. Remarkably, substitution of a certain content of halogen‐antimony flame retardants with OMMT not only slowed down the rate of degradation but also weakened the flammability for FR/LGFPA6 composite over the whole period of aging.
