The article presents a study which validates the mathematical model of human osteon through assessment of mechanical properties of a single lamella. The study computed and compared the strain energy of osteon with strain energy computed from the whole osteon's elastic constants. Result shows that inverted mathematical model, using the elastic properties of osteonal lamellae, can characterise mechanical properties of the whole osteon.

The article presents a study which determines the contact between single cell and flat punch tip and identifies membrane bursting critical load. The nanomechanical test instrument, the Hysitron TI 950 TriboIndenter®, was used to perform compression of single cell, and a displacement controlled measurement was used for burst cell identification. The results of the study is discussed.

The article evaluates experimental data from a nanoscale mechanical study of dental composite material and their use into the finite element method (FEM) model of dental filling developed in the ABAQUS software. It says that mechanical properties' nanoindentation testing was successfully used on the dental filling composite material. It notes that the modulus of elasticity relies on curing light intensity or in the material's depth.

The article discusses the use of fabric tensor theory to build up the calibration stiffness tensors and solve the Swadener and Pharr problem. The study shows that in situ the scanning probe microscopy is used for the bone lamellae visualisation. Moreover, little anisotropy of bone lamellae is indicated in the values of indentation.
