Abstract

New FDA rules concerning tamper-resistant packaging for OTC drugs is focusing on new closure designs. The least expensive alternative is the inner seal, or membrane lid, which comes in three varieties: foil seals, pressure-sensitive seals and tack seals. Other new packaging designs include shrink seals and new snap-on caps.
