Abstract: We present the first measurement of the Michel parameters η ‾ and ξκ in the radiative leptonic decay of the τ lepton using 703 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − collider. The Michel parameters are measured by an unbinned maximum likelihood fit to the kinematic information of e + e − → τ + τ − → ( π + π 0 ν ‾ ) ( l − ν ν ‾ γ ) ( l = e or μ ) . The preliminary values of the measured Michel parameters are η ‾ = − 2.0 ± 1.5 ± 0.8 and ξ κ = 0.6 ± 0.4 ± 0.2 , where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.

Abstract: We search for lepton-flavor and lepton-number-violating τ decays into a lepton (l= electron or muon) and two charged mesons ( h , h ′ = π ± or K ± ) using 854 fb − 1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e − collider. We obtain 90% confidence level upper limits on the τ → l h h ′ branching fractions in the range ( 2.0 – 8.4 ) × 10 − 8 . These results improve upon our previously published upper limits by factors of about 1.8 on average.

Abstract: We report the results of a study of B KIrk and /II K tic(2S) decays followed by qc and '/c(2S) decays to (K5K7). The results are obtained from a data sample containing 535 million BB-meson pairs collected by the Belle experiment at the KEKB e+e- collider. We measure the products of the branching fractions B(B > IC7ic)13(71, Ks K 7T) = (26.7 1.4(stat)+N(syst) 4.9(model)) x 10-6 and 8(B -+ K 71c(25))8(rIc(2S) Ksi(7tT) = (3.4+N(stat + model)t(syst)) x 10-6. Interference with the non-resonant component leads to significant model uncertainty in the measurement of these product branching fractions. Our analysis accounts for this interference and allows the model uncertainty to be reduced. We also obtain the following charmonia masses and widths: MO/c) = (2985.4 1.5(stat)1:8(syst)) MeV /c2, r(t1c)= (35.1 3.1(sta0+1:2(syst)) MeV/c2, M(ric (2S)) = (3636.111(stat + model)+3:70 (syst)) MeV/c2, r (17c (2S)) = (6.61:1(stat + model)11(syst)) MeV/c2. Abstract: We search for lepton-flavor-violating tau-> ell V^0 decays, where ell is an electron or muon and V^0 is one of the vector mesons rho^0, phi, omega, K*0 and K*0-bar. We use 854 fb^{-1} of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e^+e^- collider. No evidence for a signal is found in any decay mode, and we obtain 90% confidence level upper limits on the individual branching fractions in the range (1.2-8.4)*10^{-8}., 13 pages, 5 figures, submitted to Phys. Abstract: The cross sections for the reactions e+ e- → φ{symbol} η, φ{symbol} η′, ρη, ρ η′ have been measured using a data sample of 516 fb- 1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. The corresponding values of the cross sections are: 1.4 ± 0.4 ± 0.1 fb (φ{symbol} η), 5.3 ± 1.1 ± 0.4 fb (φ{symbol} η′), 3.1 ± 0.5 ± 0.1 fb (ρ η) and 3.3 ± 0.6 ± 0.2 fb (ρ η′). The energy dependence of the cross sections is presented using Belle measurements together with those of CLEO and BaBar. © 2009 Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: We report results from a study of the charmed double strange baryons Ωc 0 and Ωc * 0 at Belle. The Ωc 0 is reconstructed using the Ωc 0 → Ω- π+ decay mode, and its mass is measured to be (2693.6 ± 0.3-1.5 +1.8) MeV / c2. The Ωc * 0 baryon is reconstructed in the Ωc 0 γ mode. The mass difference MΩc* 0 - MΩc0 is measured to be (70.7 ± 0.9-0.9 +0.1) MeV / c2. The analysis is performed using 673 fb-1 of data on and near the Υ{hooked} (4 S) collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. Abstract: We measure the CP-violating asymmetries in decays to the D0 → K+ K- and D0 → π+ π- CP eigenstates using 540 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at or near the Υ{hooked} (4 S) resonance. Cabibbo-favored D0 → K- π+ decays are used to correct for systematic detector effects. The results, ACP K K = (- 0.43 ± 0.30 ± 0.11) % and ACP π π = (+ 0.43 ± 0.52 ± 0.12) %, are consistent with no CP violation. © 2008 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract: We present results of a detailed study of the three-body over(B, )0 → Σc (2455)0 over(p, ) π+ decay. A significant enhancement of signal events is observed in the over(p, ) π+ invariant mass distribution near 1.5 GeV / c2 that is consistent with the presence of an intermediate baryonic resonance over(N, )0, where over(N, )0 is the over(N, ) (1440)0 P11 or over(N, ) (1535)0 S11 state, or an admixture of the two states. We measure the product B (over(B, )0 → Σc (2455)0 over(N, )0) × B (over(N, )0 → over(p, ) π+) = (0.80 ± 0.15 (stat .) ± 0.14 (syst .) ± 0.21) × 10-4, where the last error is due to the uncertainty in B (Λc + → p K- π+). The significance of the signal is 6.1 standard deviations. This analysis is based on a data sample of 357 fb-1, accumulated at the Υ{hooked} (4 S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. © 2008 Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: We report a precise measurement of the masses of the $\Xi_c(2645)$ and $\Xi_c(2815)$ baryons using a data sample of 414 fb$^{-1}$ collected by the Belle collaboration at the KEKB $e^+ e^-$ collider. The states $\Xi_c(2645)^{0,+}$ are observed in the $\Xi_c^{+,0}\pi^{-,+}$ decay modes, while the $\Xi_c(2815)^{0,+}$ are reconstructed in the $\Xi_c(2645)^{+,0}\pi^{-,+}$ decay modes. The following mass splittings are determined: $m_{\Xi_c(2645)^+} - m_{\Xi_c(2645)^0} = (-0.1 \pm 0.3 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.6 {(\rm syst})) {\rm MeV}/{\rm c}^2$ and $m_{\Xi_c(2815)^+} - m_{\Xi_c(2815)^0} = (-3.4 \pm 1.9 ({\rm stat}) \pm 0.9 {(\rm syst})) {\rm MeV}/{\rm c}^2$ with a much better precision than the current world averages. We also observe a new decay mode, $\Xi_c(2980)^{0,+} \to \Xi_c(2645)^{+,0}\pi^{-,+}$.

Abstract: We have searched for neutrinoless τ lepton decays into l and V0, where l stands for an electron or muon, and V0 for a vector meson (φ{symbol}, ω, K* 0, over(K, )* 0 or ρ0), using 543 fb-1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. No excess of signal events over the expected background has been observed, and we set upper limits on the branching fractions in the range (5.9 - 18) × 10-8 at the 90% confidence level. These upper limits are significantly more restrictive than our previous results for the lφ{symbol}, l K* 0, l over(K, )* 0 and l ρ0 modes. © 2008 Elsevier B.V.

Abstract: We report a high-statistics measurement of the relative branching fraction Br(D0 --> pi+pi-pi0)/Br(D0 --> K-pi+pi0). A 357 inverse fb data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e- collider was used for the analysis. The relative branching fraction Br(D0 --> pi+pi-pi0)/Br(D0 --> K-pi+pi0) is determined with an accuracy comparable to the latest world average value.

Abstract: The Okayama muon telescope and the extensive air shower (EAS) array in Large Area Air Shower (LAAS) experiments were used to measure both muon and electron components in EAS events. The average ratio of the number of muon tracks to electron tracks 0.01 ± 0.005 was derived from this analysis, which is consistent with the typical core distance of EAS from the telescope in PeV energies derived from EAS simulation results.

Abstract: We study the characteristics of the low mass p (p) over bar enhancements near threshold in the three-body decays B+ -> p (p) over barK(+) and B+ -> p (p) over bar pi(+). We observe that the proton polar angle distributions in the p (p) over bar helicity frame in the two decays have the opposite polarity, and measure the forward-backward asymmetries as a function of the p mass for the p (p) over barK(+) mode. We also search for the intermediate two-body decays, B+ -> (p) over bar Delta(++) and B+ -> p (Delta) over bar (0), and set upper limits on their branching fractions. These results are obtained from a 414 fb(-1) data sample that contains 449 x 10(6) B (B) over bar events collected near the Gamma(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. Abstract: The sidereal anisotropy of cosmic rays with energy in the range of 10 14 – 10 15 eV was obtained by using Large Area Air Show (LAAS) experiments which deployed extensive air shower (EAS) arrays in large part of Japan. The first harmonic amplitude and phase in a function of right ascension axis are ( 0.23 ± 0.04 ) × 10 −2 and 0.4 ± 0.7 hour, respectively, and those of the second harmonics are ( 0.06 ± 0.04 ) × 10 −2 and 7.5 ± 2.6 hour, respectively. The first harmonic amplitude are compared with the diffusive mode of cosmic ray propagation, which predicts the dependence of anisotropy amplitudes on primary cosmic ray rigidities. The exponent value of rigidity dependence of diffusion coefficient is estimated as 0.34 ± 0.01 , in good agreement with Kolmogorov type spectrum of turbulence of galactic magnetic filed. Although a sky map in equatorial coordinates indicates excess and deficit regions above the isotropic expectation, their deviations were consistent with statistical ones, and more statistics are required to point the region and the opening angle of them.

Abstract: The second generation of Belle Silicon Vertex Detector (SVD) has been efficiently operated for more than three years. With increasing beam-induced background, a degradation of the detector performance is expected. To avoid such a difficulty, we are planing a next upgrade, the third generation of the SVD. Currently, its design is almost finalized.

Abstract: KS 0 KS 0 production in two-photon collisions has been studied using a 397.6 fb-1 data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ e- collider. For the first time the cross sections are measured in the two-photon center-of-mass energy range between 2.4 GeV and 4.0 GeV and angular range | cos θ* | < 0.6. Combining the results with measurements of γ γ → K+ K- from Belle, we observe that the cross section ratio σ (KS 0 KS 0) / σ (K+ K-) decreases from ∼0.13 to ∼0.01 with increasing energy. Signals for the χc 0 and χc 2 charmonium states are also observed. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract: We report measurements of the charmless semileptonic decays B0 → π- / ρ- l+ ν and B+ → π0 / ρ0 l+ ν, based on a sample of 2.75 × 108B over(B, ) events collected at the Υ{hooked} (4 S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ e- asymmetric collider. In this analysis, the accompanying B meson is reconstructed in the semileptonic mode B → D(*) l ν, enabling detection of the signal modes with high purity. We measure the branching fractions B (B0 → π- l+ ν) = (1.38 ± 0.19 ± 0.14 ± 0.03) × 10-4, B (B0 → ρ- l+ ν) = (2.17 ± 0.54 ± 0.31 ± 0.08) × 10-4, B (B+ → π0 l+ ν) = (0.77 ± 0.14 ± 0.08 ± 0.00) × 10-4 and B (B+ → ρ0 l+ ν) = (1.33 ± 0.23 ± 0.17 ± 0.05) × 10-4, where the errors are statistical, experimental systematic, and systematic due to form factor uncertainties, respectively. For each mode we also present the partial branching fractions in three q2 intervals: q2 < 8, 8 ≤ q2 < 16, and q2 ≥ 16 GeV2 / c2. From our partial branching fractions for B → π l ν and recent results for the form factor from unquenched Lattice QCD calculations, we obtain values of the CKM matrix element | Vu b |. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. Abstract: We have searched for lepton-flavor-violating $\tau$ decays with a pseudoscalar meson ($\eta$, $\eta'$ {and} $\pi^0$) using a data sample of 401 fb$^{-1}$ collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy $e^+e^-$ collider. No evidence for these decays is found and we set the following upper limits on the branching fractions: ${\cal{B}}(\tau^-\to e^-\eta) < 9.2\times 10^{-8}$, ${\cal{B}}(\tau^-\to \mu^-\eta) < 6.5\times 10^{-8}$, ${\cal{B}}(\tau^-\to e^-\eta') < 1.6\times 10^{-7}$, ${\cal{B}}(\tau^-\to \mu^-\eta') < 1.3\times 10^{-7}$, ${\cal{B}}(\tau^-\to e^-\pi^0) < 8.0\times 10^{-8}$ and ${\cal{B}}(\tau^-\to \mu^-\pi^0) < 1.2\times 10^{-7}$ at the 90% confidence level. These results improve our previously published upper limits by factors from 2.3 to 6.3.

Abstract: We investigated the magnitude factor of the Kalbach phenomenology in order to estimate double differential cross-sections (DDXs) of ( p , 3He), ( p , 4He), ( p , 6Li) and ( p , 7Li) reactions at intermediate energies that is several hundreds of MeV. Firstly, we obtained DDXs on target nuclei, Be, C and Al by using a 392-MeV proton beam. Secondly, the magnitude factor has been formulated and parameterized by using the present data and Ag data measured elsewhere. Although the slope parameters of the magnitude factor were found to be independent of targets, absolute values are dependent. The magnitude factor shows a consistency between heavy targets, Al and Ag. In contrast, considerable different tendencies are seen for the light targets. As a result, it has been remarked that the present parameterization is of highly useful in yield estimation for experimental planning of light charged particle production reactions. It allows us to conduct such experiments with the higher efficiency.

Abstract: We search for the decay B+ -> l(+)nu(l)gamma with l(+) = e(+) or mu(+) using the full Belle data set of 772 x 10(6) B (B) over bar pairs, collected at the Y(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider. We reconstruct one B meson in a hadronic decay mode and search for the B+ -> l(+)nu(l)gamma decay in the remainder of the event. We observe no significant signal within the phase space of E-gamma(sig) > 1 GeV and obtain upper limits of B(B+ -> e(+)nu(e)gamma) mu(+)nu(mu)gamma) l(+)nu(l)gamma) < 3.5 x 10(-6) at 90% credibility level.

Abstract: We report results on studies of the e(+)e(-) annihilation into three-body Upsilon(nS)pi(+)pi(-) (n = 1, 2, 3) final states including measurements of cross sections and the full amplitude analysis. The cross sections measured at root s = 10.866 GeV and corrected for the initial state radiation are sigma(e(+)e(-) --> Upsilon(1S)pi(+)pi(-)) = (2.27 +/- 0.12 +/- 0.14) pb, sigma(e(+)e(-) --> Upsilon(2S)pi(+)pi(-)) = (4.07 +/- 0.16 +/- 0.45) pb, and sigma(e(+)e(-) --> Upsilon(3S)pi(+)pi(-)) = (1.46 +/- 0.09 +/- 0.16) pb. Amplitude analysis of the three-body Upsilon(nS)pi(+)pi(-) final states strongly favors I-G(J(P)) = 1(+)(1(+)) quantum-number assignments for the two bottomonium-like Z(b)(+/-) states, recently observed in the Upsilon(nS)pi(+) and h(b)(mP)pi(+)(m = 1, 2) decay channels. The results are obtained with a 121.4 fb(-1) data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e(+)e(-) collider.

Abstract: The silicon vertex detector (SVD2) of the Belle experiment at KEK (Tsukuba, Japan) is currently close to its limits in terms of the occupancy of the innermost layer and the readout dead time. In order to cope with further increase in luminosity, different levels of upgrades are proposed: small improvements are possible in the short term by tuning the current system at the cost of signal-to-noise and crosstalk. In 2007, the two inner layers of the SVD2 will be replaced by similar detectors with faster readout electronics (SVD2.5) and in the long term, a major upgrade of the full silicon vertex detector (SVD3) is envisaged for the KEK Super B Factory. These upgrade scenarios will be discussed in detail from the hardware point of view along with the options under study.

Abstract: A new silicon vertex detector for the Belle experiment has been in operation at the high-luminosity asymmetric energy electron–positron collider KEKB since October 2003. It provides a larger polar angle acceptance, a better vertex resolution and a higher radiation tolerance than the previous one. The obtained performances indicate that the SVD2 works reliably, in very good agreement with expectations.

Abstract: We have searched for neutrinoless τ lepton decays into lhh or l V0, where l stands for an electron or muon, h for a charged light hadron, π or K, and V0 for a neutral vector meson, ρ0, K* (892)0 and φ{symbol}, using a 158 fb-1 data sample collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ e- collider. Since the number of events observed are consistent with the expected background, we set upper limits on the branching fractions in the range of (1.6 - 8.0) × 10-7 for various decay modes at the 90% confidence level. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. Abstract: We have searched for the lepton flavor violating decays τ- → l- KS 0 (l = e or μ), using a data sample of 281 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+ e- asymmetric-energy collider. No evidence for a signal was found in either of the decay modes, and we set the following upper limits for the branching fractions: B (τ- → e- KS 0) < 5.6 × 10-8 and B (τ- → μ- KS 0) < 4.9 × 10-8 at the 90% confidence level. These results improve the previously published limits set by the CLEO Collaboration by factors of 16 and 19, respectively. © 2006 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Abstract: Characteristics of a GSO(Ce) crystal were investigated in terms of the light output response and the peak-to-total efficiency for impinging intermediate-energy α -particles. Experiments were carried out using α -particles of energies ranging from 143 to 718 MeV with primary α beams of 400 and 718 MeV. It has been demonstrated that the experimental results are explained well by calculations in the same manner as for protons and deuterons. In particular, no particle identity dependence of scintillation quenching phenomena have been observed between protons, deuterons and α -particles. Furthermore, good linearity is confirmed in the higher energy range up to 718 MeV. The peak-to-total efficiency was accounted for by calculations using α -nucleus reaction cross-sections.

Abstract: The old silicon vertex detector (SVD1) of the Belle detector, operating at the high-luminosity asymmetric energy e+e− collider KEKB, was replaced by an upgraded version (SVD2) in 2003. The new detector has modified geometry and redesigned readout electronics, providing a larger polar angle acceptance, better vertex resolution, improved radiation hardness and reduced dead time. The operation of the detector started successfully in October 2003. The basic concepts of the SVD2 design as well as its performance after 10 months of data taking are described in this paper.

Abstract: We have measured the branching fractions for the exclusive decay modes B→χc1(2)K(K∗)B→χc1(2)K(K∗) using a 140 fb−1140 fb−1 data sample collected by the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+e−e+e− collider. The measured branching fractions for B+→χc1K+B+→χc1K+, B0→χc1K0B0→χc1K0, B0→χc1K∗0B0→χc1K∗0 and B+→χc1K∗+B+→χc1K∗+ decay modes are (4.5±0.2±0.5)×10−4(4.5±0.2±0.5)×10−4, (3.5±0.3±0.5)×10−4(3.5±0.3±0.5)×10−4, (3.1±0.3±0.7)×10−4(3.1±0.3±0.7)×10−4 and (4.1±0.6±0.9)×10−4(4.1±0.6±0.9)×10−4, respectively, where the first error is statistical and the second error is systematic. We do not observe statistically significant signals for the B→χc2K(K∗)B→χc2K(K∗) decay modes and set upper limits at the 90% confidence level. We also study the helicity distribution for B→χc1K∗B→χc1K∗ decay mode and show that the longitudinal polarization component is dominant.

Abstract: Using kaon secondary interactions in the material of the Belle detector, we search for both inclusive and exclusive production of the Θ(1540) +. We set an upper limit of 2.5% at the 90% C.L. on the ratio of the Θ(1540)+ to Λ(1520) inclusive production cross sections. We also search for the Θ(1540)+ as an intermediate resonance in the charge exchange reaction K+n→pKS 0. We set an upper limit of ΓΘ+

Abstract: We have searched for τ lepton decays, τ-→Λπ- and τ-→Λπ-, that simultaneously violate the conservation of the lepton (L) and baryon (B) number using a data sample of 154 fb-1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB e+e- asymmetric-energy collider. No evidence for a signal was found in either of the decay modes and we set the following upper limits for the branching fractions: B(τ-→Λπ-)

Abstract: We report measurements of time-dependent decay rates for B 0 → D ∗ ∓ π ± decays and extraction of CP violation parameters related to ϕ 3 . We use a partial reconstruction technique, whereby signal events are identified using information only from the primary pion and the charged pion from the decay of the D ∗ ∓ . The analysis uses 140 fb −1 of data accumulated at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e + e − collider. We measure the CP violation parameters S + = 0.035 ± 0.041 ( stat ) ± 0.018 ( syst ) and S − = 0.025 ± 0.041 ( stat ) ± 0.018 ( syst ) .

Abstract: We present measurements of the branching fraction, the polarization parameters and CP-violating asymmetries in B0→D*+D *- decays using a 140 fb-1 data sample collected at the Υ(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB energy-asymmetric e+e- collider. We obtain B(B0→D*+D*-)=[0. 81±0.08(stat)±0.11(syst)]×10-3, R⊥=0.19±0. 08(stat)±0.01(syst), R0=0.57±0.08(stat)±0.02(syst), S=-0.75±0.56(stat)±0.12(syst) and A=-0.26±0.26(stat) ±0.06(syst). Consistency with Standard Model expectations is also discussed.

Abstract: The angular distributions of the baryon-antibaryon low-mass enhancements seen in the charmless three-body baryonic B decays B+ -> p pbar K+, B0 -> p pbar Ks, and B0 -> p Lambdabar pi- are reported. A quark fragmentation interpretation is supported, while the gluonic resonance picture is disfavored. Searches for the Theta+ and Theta++ pentaquarks in the relevant decay modes and possible glueball states G with 2.2 GeV/c2 < M-ppbar < 2.4 GeV/c2 in the ppbar systems give null results. We set upper limits on the products of branching fractions, B(B0 -> Theta+ p)\times B(Theta+ -> p Ks) < 2.3 \times 10^{-7}, B(B+ -> Theta++ pbar) \times B(Theta++ -> p K+) < 9.1 \times 10^{-8}, and B(B+ -> G K+) \times B(G -> p pbar) < 4.1 \times 10^{-7} at the 90% confidence level. Abstract: We present spectra of prompt electrons from decays of neutral and charged B mesons. The results are based on 140 fb −1 of data collected by the Belle detector on the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance at the KEKB e + e − asymmetric collider. We tag ϒ ( 4 S ) → B B ¯ events by reconstructing a B meson in one of several hadronic decay modes; the semileptonic decay of the other B meson is inferred from the presence of an identified electron. We obtain for charged and neutral B mesons the partial rates of semileptonic decay, to electrons with momentum greater than 0.6 GeV / c in the B rest frame, and their ratio b + / b 0 = 1.08 ± 0.05 ± 0.02 , where the first and second errors are statistical and systematic, respectively.

Abstract: We have measured π + π − and K + K − production in two-photon collisions using 87.7 fb −1 of data collected with the Belle detector at the asymmetric energy e + e − collider KEKB. The cross sections are measured to high precision in the two-photon center-of-mass energy ( W ) range between 2.4 GeV W 4.1 GeV and angular region | cos θ ∗ | 0.6 . The cross section ratio σ ( γ γ → K + K − ) / σ ( γ γ → π + π − ) is measured to be 0.89 ± 0.04 ( stat. ) ± 0.15 ( syst. ) in the range of 3.0 GeV W 4.1 GeV , where the ratio is energy-independent. We observe a sin −4 θ ∗ behavior of the cross section in the same W range. Production of χ c 0 and χ c 2 mesons is observed in both γ γ → π + π − and γ γ → K + K − modes.

Abstract: We have searched for the lepton-flavor-violating decay τ → e γ using a data sample of 86.7 fb−1 collected with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric e + e − collider. No evidence for a signal is obtained, and we set an upper limit for the branching fraction B ( τ → e γ ) 3.9 × 10 −7 at the 90% C.L.

Abstract: We report measurements of radiative B decays with K η γ final states, using a data sample of 253 fb −1 recorded at the ϒ ( 4 S ) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB e + e − storage ring. We observe B + → K + η γ for the first time with a branching fraction of ( 8.4 ± 1.5 (stat) −0.9 +1.2 (syst) ) × 10 −6 for M K η 2.4 GeV / c 2 , and find evidence of B 0 → K 0 η γ . We also search for B → K 3 ∗ ( 1780 ) γ .
