Four Ag(I) ions are linked by four 5-phenyl-1H-tetrazole (Hptz) units to form a molecular crown [Ag4(ptz)4] as a structural analogue of calix[4]arene, which are further supported by Keggin anions to build a 2D layer containing two kinds of cycles, [Ag8(ptz)4(HPW(V)2W(VI)10O40)]·2H2O (1).

Three coordination polymers (CPs), [Co(3-bptzp)(BDC)] (1), [Zn(3-bptzp)(BDC)] (2), and [Cd(3-bptzp)(BDC)] (3) (3-bptzp = 1,4-bis(5-(3-pyridyl)tetrazolyl)propane, H2BDC = 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid), were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions. The CPs were structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy (IR), elemental analyses, and powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD). Complexes 1-3 represent the first examples of CPs based on the flexible bis(pyridyl-tetrazole) 3-bptzp. Structure analyses reveal that 1-3 are 1-D ring-containing polymeric chains. For 2 and 3, adjacent 1-D chains are extended to 2-D supramolecular networks by hydrogen bonding. Dye adsorption properties of 1-3, electrochemical properties of 1, and fluorescent-sensing behaviors of 2 and 3 have also been investigated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Three new Ni(II) coordination polymers exhibiting different 1D and 2D framework structures have been hydrothermally synthesized: [Ni(L )(1,3-BDC)(H O) ] ⋅ H O ( 1), [Ni(L )(1,3,5-HBTC)(H O) ] ( 2), [Ni (L )(1,3,5-BTC) (H O) ] ⋅12H O ( 3) [L = N,N -bis(pyridin-3-yl)cyclohexane-1,4-dicarboxamide, L = N,N -bis(3-pyridyl)octandiamide, 1,3-H BDC = 1,3-benzenedicarboxylic acid, 1,3,5-H BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid]. X-ray single crystal diffraction analyses revealed that polymer 1 is a 2D interlaced layer based on the 1D [Ni(L )(1,3-BDC)(H O) ] meso-helical chains. Polymer 2 is a 1D wave-shaped chain derived from the 1D [Ni(L )] chain and monodentate coordinated 1,3,5-HBTC anions. Polymer 3 possesses an interesting 2D layer containing the trinuclear [Ni (1,3,5-BTC) ] substructural unit and 1D zigzag [Ni(L )] chain, representing a 3,4-connected {6 ⋅8 } {6⋅8⋅10⋅12} topology. Finally, the adjacent 1D chains or the 2D layers are connected through hydrogen bonding interactions to construct 3D supramolecular networks. Seven polyoxometalate-based (POM) metal–organic complexes (MOCs) with different pyridyl–amide ligands were hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized. In 1, the [CrMo6(OH)5O19]4− (CrMo6) polyoxoanions bridge the CuII ions to generate a 1D Cu-CrMo6 inorganic double chain, which is further consolidated by the μ2-bridging 2-pdya ligands. Complex 2 exhibits a 2D layer based on [γ-Mo8O26]n4n− chains. In complex 3, the β-Mo8O26 anions link the metal–organic units [Cu(4-Hdpyp)2]4+ to construct a 1D fishbone-like chain. Complex 4 shows a 3D (6,6)-connected framework constructed by the 2D inorganic network [Cu4(μ3-OH)2(H2O)4(γ-Mo8O27)] and 3-dpyh bridging ligands. In 2–4, all the [CoMo6(OH)6O18]3− (CoMo6) anions were in situ transformed to Mo8O264− or Mo8O276− anions. Complexes 5 and 7 are isostructural, each [TeMo6O24]6− (TeMo6) polyoxoanion coordinates to two CuII ions to generate a discrete copper complex [Cu2(4-Hdpye)2(TeMo6O24)(H2O)6] and [Cu2(4-Hdpyb)2(TeMo6O24)(H2O)6], respectively. In complex 6, the TeMo6 polyoxoanions bridge the CuII ions to generate a 2D [Cu3(TeMo6)]n inorganic layer, which is further linked by the μ2-bridging 3-dpyb ligands to form a 3D metal–organic framework. The effects of POM types and their various coordination modes, as well as the pyridyl–amide ligands on the structures of the title complexes have been discussed. Their electrochemical behavior reveals characteristic multi-electron redox processes related to MoVI centers. The electrocatalytic reduction performance toward hydrogen peroxide and bromate was fully measured and discussed; both complexes exhibit excellent electrocatalytic activity towards the reduction of bromate and hydrogen peroxide. In addition, the redox potentials of complexes 5–7 are highly pH sensitive and may be used as a kind of potential pH sensor. Compound3features a 1-D ladder-like chain formed by the 1-D linear [Cd(1,3-BDC)]nchains and 3-dpyh bridging ligands. Compound4displays a 2-D undulated layer containing meso-helical [Zn(3-dpyh)]nchains and linear [Zn(1,3-BDC)]nchains. The neighboring dinuclear complexes for1, adjacent chains for3, and adjacent layers for2and4are further linked by hydrogen bonding interactions to form 2-D (for1) or 3-D supramolecular networks (for2–4). The influences of the different dicarboxylates and metal on the structures of1–4have been discussed. A unique discrete cage-like (H2O)12cluster guest containing six fused five-membered rings has been observed in a novel metal–organic framework host [Cu3(L)3(BTC)2]3n[L = N,N′-bis(4-pyridinecarboxamide)-1,4-benzene, BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate anion], which represents a (3,4)-connected topology with the new type of (63)(64·102) presently known for three-fold interpenetrating systems. Complex 1 is a 2D network, which is constructed from Cu 4 –TeMo 6 inorganic chains and 4-dpye ligands. Complex 2 contains two types of 1D chains. Complex 3 shows a 1D ring-like chain structure, in which the CrMo 6 anions act as fourfold monodentate ligands consolidating the [Cu 2 (3-dpyb) 2 (C 2 O 4 )] rings. Complex 4 is a 0D structure containing a dinuclear complex cation [Cu 2 (4-dpyh)] 4+ and discrete CrMo 6 anion. Complex 5 exhibits a 3D framework constructed from 2D Cu 4 –TeMo 6 inorganic layer and 4-dpyh ligands. The spacer lengths and N-donor sites of the bis-pyridyl-bis-amide ligands, as well as different polyoxometalates play important roles in tuning the structures of the title complexes. Two new Keggin-type polyoxometalates-based metal–organic complexes: [Ag 3 (L1) 3 (PMo 12 O 40 )]·3H 2 O ( 1 ) and Ag 4 (L2) 2 (HL2)(PW 12 O 40 )Na 2 (μ-OH)]·1.5H 2 O ( 2 ) (L1 = 1.2.4-triazole, HL2 = 4-amino-1,2,4-triazole) have been hydrothermally synthesized and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction analyses, IR spectra and powder X-ray diffraction analyses. In compound 1 , the [Ag 6 (L1) 6 ] crown-shaped ring was clamped by two [PMo 12 O 40 ] 3 − polyanions, forming a sandwich-like [Ag 6 (L1) 6 (PMo 12 O 40 ) 2 ] unit, which was extended to a 1D supramolecular chain through hydrogen bonding interaction. Compound 2 is a 3D metal–organic framework containing the [Ag 6 (L2) 4 (HL2) 2 ] crown-shaped ring and 1D [Na 2 (PW 12 O 40 )(μ-OH)] n inorganic chains, which represents a novel (3,3,4,6,10-c)-connected 3D topological framework. Abstract: A new Wells-Dawson polyoxometalate-based compound, H[Cu(L)2(P2W18O62)0.5]·~3H2O (1) (L=N,N′-bis(3-pyridinecarboxamide)-1,6- hexane), has been hydrothermally synthesized. Compound 1 is a 2D network based on [P2W18O62]6− polyanion and nonparallel 1D Cu(L)2 polymer chain constructed from two types of bi-nuclear circles alternately arraying with the dihedral angle of 34.75°. Compound 1 represents the first example of 2D Wells-Dawson POM-based compound constructed from the flexible bis-pyridyl-bis-amide ligand. Abstract: A new inorganic–organic hybrid compound [Cu2(L)4(H2O)2](SiW12O40)·8H2O (1) [L =1,1′-(1,4-butanediyl)bis-1H-benzimidazole] has been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analyses, XRD and TG analysis. Compound 1 exhibits a two-dimensional (2D) layer network constructed from metal–organic cations . There exist π–π stacking interactions among the benzimidazole rings of the adjacent 2D layers leading to a double-sheet structure. The Keggin-type [SiW12O40]4− anions acting as inorganic templates are sandwiched by the double-sheet structure. There exist hydrogen bonding interactions between [SiW12O40]4− anions and double-sheet layers, which extend the 2D network to a 3D supramolecular framework. A novel Keggin-type molybdophosphate-based hybrid containing left- and right-handed helical chains, {Ag[H 2 (3-bptzh)](PMo 12 O 40 )}·H 2 O ( 1 ) [3-bptzh = 1,6-bis(5-(3-pyridyl)-tetrazolyl)hexane], has been synthesized under hydrothermal condition, and characterized by IR spectra, elemental analyses, single crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction. The helix metal-organic chain [AgH 2 (3-bptzh)] n 3 + is constructed from the flexible 3-bptzh ligands and Ag atoms, on which [PMo 12 O 40 ] 3 − polyoxoanions are hanged via Ag O bonds. The structural feature is fascinating and scarcely reported in POM-based complexes. The electrochemical, fluorescent and photocatalytic properties of the title compounds have been investigated. Additionally, the polypyrrole (PPy) composite material of 1 ( PPy/1 ) has been prepared by loading polypyrrole on the surface of compound 1 , which shows excellent photocatalytic activities for degradation of organic dyes under visible light irradiation. Four luminescent metal-organic complexes based on semi-rigid N -donor ligands and 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid (3-HNA), [Zn(bimb)(3-HNA) 2 ] (1), [Zn(bbimb)(3-HNA) 2 ]·3H 2 O (2), [Zn(bimbp)(3-HNA) 2 ] (3), [Cd(bimbp)(3-HNA) 2 ] (4) [bimb = 1,4-bis(1-imidazol-yl-methyl)benzene, bimbp = 4,4′-bis(1H-imidazol-1-yl-methyl)biphenyl, bbimb = 1,4-bis(1-benzimidazolyl-yl-methyl)benzene], have been synthesized solvothermally. The 1D chain structures of complexes 1 – 4 exhibit the Z-type or linear geometry configurations, where the combination of the N -donor ligands and transition metal ions is regarded as the backbones, and the 3-HNA ligands are dangled covalently on both sides of such backbone. The investigation on the luminescence properties indicates that complexes 1 – 4 have luminescent detection capabilities against Fe3+ and Cr 2 O 7 2− ions in DMF with excellent selectivity and sensitivity.
