- Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between gratitude and the psychological well-being of adolescents living in orphanages. Participants in this study consisted of 100 adolescents who live in orphanages in Mojokerto and Surabaya. The study used a survey method. The measuring instruments used are the Gratitude Resentment and Appreciation Test (GRAT) short form version and Ryff's Psychological Well-being Scale which has been adapted in Indonesian. Data analysis used pearson's product moment and spearman rank correlation test. The results of the analysis show that gratitude has a significant and positive correlation with personal growth (r=0.246, p=0.014), positive relations (r=0.259, p=0.009), purpose in life (r=0.205, p=0.041), and self acceptance (r=0.218, p=0.029). Gratitude was found to be uncorrelated with the autonomy and environmental mastery dimensions of psychological well-being. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
