Increasing the life quality for persons with disabilities represents an important problem for the whole society, locally and even globally. This group of people is the most vulnerable and the less protected, as they are limited in movements, actions and independence. Those require constant support, a lot of familial and social care, and a period to adapt, in order to begin a new life. This study presents the results of the research based on the interaction of several elements, that define the system: "persons with amputated inferior limbsfunctional clothing-environment", achieving by that a database, that would eventually allow the solving of the main problem: social reintegration of this group. The aim of this study consists in determining the most important factors that describe each element of the above-mentioned system. The interaction of these factors allow us to identify several problems: disability problems, social-economic breaches, psychologic barriers, recovery processes, problems that concern the creation and the exploitation of multifunctional clothing, etc. Functional clothing is designed to ensure the needs for the potential customers with disabilities. Also, following the studies were established the factors that have a negative influence on social integration and personal rehabilitation. This paper presents the results of the research on the literature of textile and medical fields, to identify the actual assortment meant for persons with inferior limbs amputation and to establish the types of products relevant for different periods of life. The topic is determined by the raising number of persons with inferior limbs amputated and by the specialists that present interest in creating clothing destined for disabled persons. This paper aims are to fundament the knowledge regarding the special clothing for persons with lower limb amputations, the time of use, and its necessity. The main objective of this paper is to propose a chart of classification of the assortment destined for disabled persons in which there are specified the periods of use, from the moment of surgical amputation. The paper presents the epidemiology of lower limb amputations in the world and the dynamics of the number of amputations, registered in the Republic of Moldova in the last five years. Also, there are presented the 5 main pathological states. One of the major problems, that we try to solve, is the establishment of groups of products of clothing that would satisfy the wearer, and the people around (doctors, family, etc.). The possibility of obtaining quality products dare the specialists keep in mind not only how functional is the products, but also the environment around and the message it carries to the persons. The paper presents the functional clothing assortment study results by determining the current areas of its use. It is proposed the thorough study of the clothing product range for people with special needs. The main focus is on disabled people social inclusion which becomes possible thanks to adaptive clothing products. The paper is intended to theoretical knowledge grounding on functional clothing and its production rounds setting. The topicality of the subject is determined by the growing interest of specialists in the field and by the large number, worldwide and local, of people who represent a disability. The paper presents the fundamental notions regarding functional clothing, the modern assortment of functional clothing classification scheme and the scheme of the aimed at assortment design process. The functional clothing products development process stands for the clothes wearing conditions study in the interest of specific technical requirements processing, the dimensional typology data use, the "man-product" system ergonomic research carrying out, the original constructive solutions determining. One of the problems that are trying to be solved in this paper is finding solutions in order to increase the number of products types manufactured while increasing the functional clothing products quality for disabled people. The high-quality functional clothing products obtaining leads to a number increase of constructively made products and technologically manufactured homogeneous products.
