Cambuci (Campomanesia phaea Berg.) is a native fruit to the Atlantic Forest biome of Brazil with several bioactive compounds, ascorbic acid, phenolic compounds, volatile compounds, tannins, and carotenoids and it is used mainly to produce jellies, ice cream, juices, and alcoholic beverages. This review and bibliometric analysis establish the progress, trends, and perspectives of research on this fruit. The results show an increase in publications is related to the emergence of this new research and demonstrate the potential growth of cambuci in different studies. Between 2003 and 2022, 153 articles and 22 reviews related to cambuci were published. The bibliometric analysis revealed that the main research area was Agricultural and Biological Sciences, and the main country producing research on the cambuci fruit was Brazil, with 118 articles published. Given that most publications are associated with Brazil, the foremost institutions dedicated to cambuci research are also Brazilian. The University of São Paulo spearheads the list of affiliations and comprises eight other Brazilian organizations, including seven universities and one research institution. The author's keywords revealed that phenolic compounds, antioxidant capacity, flavonoids, antioxidant activity, bioactive compounds, and osmotic dehydration are motor themes in cambuci research. Additionally, ellagic acid is a bioactive phenolic compound in tannins, and proanthocyanidins are compounds of great relevance in cambuci and have great benefit for human health with antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, gastroprotective, and antidepressant activity. Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria (L.) Maxim.) has been widely used in the treatment of various diseases. The pharmacological properties of meadowsweet are derived from the presence of phenolic compounds of a diverse structure in sufficiently large quantities. The purpose of this study was to examine the vertical distribution of individual groups of phenolic compounds (total phenolics, flavonoids, hydroxycinnamic acids, catechins, proanthocyanidins, and tannins) and individual phenolic compounds in meadowsweet and to determine the antioxidant and antibacterial activity of extracts from various meadowsweet organs. It was found that the leaves, flowers, fruits, and roots of meadowsweet are characterized by a high total phenolics content (up to 65 mg g−1). A high content of flavonoids was determined in the upper leaves and flowers (117–167 mg g−1), with high contents of hydroxycinnamic acids in the upper leaves, flowers, and fruits (6.4–7.8 mg g–1); high contents of catechins and proanthocyanidins in the roots (45.1 and 3.4 mg g–1, respectively); and high tannin content in the fruits (38.3 mg g–1). Analysis of extracts by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) showed that the qualitative and quantitative composition of individual phenolic compounds in various parts of the meadowsweet varied greatly. Among the flavonoids identified in meadowsweet, quercetin derivatives dominate, namely quercetin 3-O-rutinoside, quercetin 3-β-d-glucoside, and quercetin 4′-O-glucoside. Quercetin 4′-O-glucoside (spiraeoside) was found only in the flowers and fruits. Catechin was identified in the leaves and roots of meadowsweet. The distribution of phenolic acids across the plant was also uneven. In the upper leaves, a higher content of chlorogenic acid was determined, and in the lower leaves, a higher content of ellagic acid determined. In flowers and fruits, a higher contents of gallic, caftaric, ellagic, and salicylic acids were noted. Ellagic and salicylic acids were also dominant among phenolic acids in the roots. Based on the results of the analysis of antioxidant activity in terms of the ability to utilize the radicals of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazine (DPPH) and 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazolino-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) and in terms of iron-reducing ability (FRAP), the upper leaves, flowers, and fruits of meadowsweet can be considered plant raw materials suitable to obtain extracts with high antioxidant activity. Basilicum polystachyon (L.) Moench is a member of Lamiaceae family and important ethnomedicinal that is widely used in the treatment of several ailments and is reputed to possess an inhibitor of the dengue virus. In vitro propagation is an efficient strategy for large-scale production of plantlets. Such process is a good alternative method for the production of valuable secondary metabolites. Hence, the present study assesses the contents of phenolic compounds, radical scavenging activity and antimicrobial efficacy of in vivo grown compared with the in vitro grown B. polystachyon plants. Thus, the antioxidant capacity of leaf extracts was determined by scavengers like ABTS .+ , DPPH. , hydrogen peroxide, hydroxyl radical, nitric oxide along with lipid peroxidation inhibition, FRAP, reducing power and DNA damage protection assay. The antimicrobial activity was evaluated through disk diffusion assay and minimum inhibitory concentration assay. RP-HPLC was used to identify and quantify the phenolic compounds in the following forms: free, esterified and glycosylated. The leaf extract of in vivo plants exhibited stronger antioxidant activities. The FRAP assay revealed a maximum reducing power with leaf extract of in vivo grown plants (43.73±0.52 µM Fe(II) equivalent). Total phenolic content of in vivo plants presented a strong positive correlation to IC 50 values of ABTS, DPPH, and HPSA, whereas total flavonoid content of in vitro grown plant was strongly correlated to IC 50 values of DPPH and HPSA. In vivo plants showed the highest inhibition zone against Bacillus subtilis, Escherichia coli , and Staphylococcus aureus. RP-HPLC analysis showed the phenolic compounds present in all tested forms of B. polystachyon leaf. For the first time, gallic acid, trans -cinnamic acid, ellagic acid, quercetin and vanillic acid were identified in this extract. Also, caffeic acid, p -coumaric acid and rosmarinic acid were quantified. In this study, the influence of various processing techniques (canning, freezing, and drying) and storage period on polyphenols and antiproliferative activity of different apricot varieties were evaluated. Evaluation of phenolic compounds by HPLC revealed that amongst various processed samples, canned apricots recorded highest ellagic acid (15.8 mg/Kg DW), gallic acid (7.9 mg/Kg DW), epicatechin(21.6 mg/Kg DW), epigallocatechin (15.3 mg/Kg DW), rutin (10.2 mg/Kg DW), contents followed by frozen and dried apricots (p <.05). The phenolic compounds decreased significantly in all varieties as the storage period advanced. Antiproliferative properties of methanolic extracts of different apricot varieties on brain cancer cells revealed that inhibition of cell proliferation was observed when 50 μl of the extract was used compared to 10 μl and 50 μl methanol control. Among the varieties, CITH‐1 showed the highest cell proliferation inhibition. During processing antiproliferative activity of apricot samples increased and amongst processing methods canned apricots showed the highest activity. Practical applications: Due to the rise in health‐conscious consumers in recent times, the consumption of fruits rich in functional components has increased. For this reason, it is important to study the processing techniques that can help in retention as well as the stability of these health‐promoting molecules over a period of time. Canning, freezing, and drying are capable processing techniques for shelf life extension of apricots. In this perspective, this study investigated the effect and efficiency of these processing techniques on polyphenols and antiproliferative activity of apricots. Results revealed that these processing techniques have potential applications for retention of polyphenols and shelf‐life extension of perishable fruits like apricots and thus can be potential techniques for industrial utilization. Nowadays, legume production is increasing as the world population but its consumption is declining due to dietary habit changes. Industry is finding new uses of legumes and creating new foods with a positive effect on health and well-being of humans. Key components in legume (like protein, soluble and insoluble fibre, resistant starch, and bioactive polyphenols) make beans suitable for a wide range of food product applications. The main phenolic compounds present in legume flours are flavonoids. The study is focused on determination of bioactive compounds content in seeds of four varieties of common bean. The samples of plant material were collected from the area of Piešťany (Slovakia). The samples of common bean seeds were homogenized and a methanolic extract was prepared. These extracts were used for analyses. The total content of polyphenols was determined spectrophotometrically and the content of individual phenolic by using the RP-HPLC/DAD method. The content of risky metals in samples was determined using the AAS method. TPC in studied varieties of common bean were determined in the range from 2156.87 mg.kg-1 (NEGRA) to 1362.70 mg. kg-1 (ZENIT). Highest concentration of phenolic acids was determined in ellagic acid, where the average value was 0.21845 mg.kg-1 DM (dry matter) and the lowest in trans-caffeic acid, with the average value 0.02380 mg.kg-1 DM. Highest concentration of flavonoids was determined in vitexin, where the average value was 0.02480 mg.kg-1 DM and the lowest in kaempferol, with the average value 0.00545 mg.kg-1 DM. Highest macro elements amount was determined in white beans. For potassium it was 12277 mg.kg-1 (ZENIT) and the lowest was in manganese, and it was 10.70 mg.kg-1 (RUBIN) in red beans. Abstract Polyphenol compounds from vine pruning residue (VPR) were extracted by conventional heating and microwave-assisted treatments. For each treatment, total phenolic compounds and their antioxidant activity were optimized by experimental design. Maximal extraction of polyphenolic compounds (2.17 g/100 g VPR) was obtained at 80 °C, 120 min and 45% of ethanol by conventional heating, and 2.37 g/100 g of VPR were extracted by microwave-assisted process at 120 °C, 5 min and 60% of ethanol. Ellagic acid and apigenin were the predominant polyphenolic compounds in the extracts, achieving concentration of 68.65 and 208.23 mg/100 g VPR, respectively for conventional heating and 185.15 and 118.84 mg/100 g of VPR for microwave-assisted treatment. The results showed reduction of extraction time and energy consumption for microwave-assisted treatment leading to cost-effective technology for the extraction of polyphenol compounds. Punica granatum L. is one of the species enjoying growing interest due to its complex and unique chemical composition that encompasses the presence of anthocyanins, ellagic acid and ellagitannins, gallic acid and gallotannins, proanthocyanidins, flavanols and lignans. This combination is deemed responsible for a wide range of health-promoting biological activities. This study was focused on the analysis of flavonoids, anthocyanins and phenolic acids in eight pomegranate varieties (Punica granatum) from Macedonia, in two consecutive years. Fruits from each cultivar were washed and manually peeled, and the juice was filtered. NaF (8.5 mg) was added to 100 ml juice as a stabilizer. The samples were centrifuged for 15 min at 3000 rpm and analyzed using an HPLC/DAD/MSn method that was optimized for determination of their polyphenolic fingerprints. The dominant anthocyanin in all pomegranate varieties was cyanidin-3-glucoside followed by cyanidin and delphinidin 3,5-diglucoside. From the results, it can be concluded that the content of anthocyanins was higher in 2016 compared to 2017. But in contrast, the total content of non-colored polyphenols was around 10 times lower in 2016 compared to the amount found in the same samples in 2017. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The aims of the present work were to isolate and identify the principal yeasts present in spoiled Argentine strawberry juice, identify polyphenols present in four blueberry cultivars and use these blueberry extracts in the control of yeasts using strawberry juice as food system model. Hanseniaspora osmophila and Starmerella bacillaris were identified for the first time in Argentine strawberry juice. The blueberry extracts assayed showed antifungal activity against H. osmophila and S. bacillaris through individual phenolic compounds such as quercetin, kaempferol and chlorogenic, ρ-coumaric and ellagic acid. The cytotoxicity assay demonstrated that the blueberries were not toxic to humans and that they did not modify the sensorial qualities of strawberry juice. No viable S. bacillaris and H. osmophila cells were detected after 7 days in strawberry juice supplemented with 150 μg/ml Blue Crisp or Millennium extract, inoculated with the isolated spoilage yeasts and conserved at 4 °C. This is the first evidence of S. bacillaris and H. osmophila in spoiled Argentine strawberry juice and blueberry extracts could be a good natural and non-toxic alternative to prevent growth of these yeasts. Having served as a symbolic fruit since ancient times, pomegranate (Punica granatum) has also gained considerable recognition as a functional food in the modern era. A large body of literature has linked pomegranate polyphenols, particularly anthocyanins (ATs) and hydrolyzable tannins (HTs), to the health-promoting activities of pomegranate juice and fruit extracts. However, it remains unclear as to how, and to what extent, the numerous phytochemicals in pomegranate may interact and exert cooperative activities in humans. In this review, we examine the structural and analytical information of the diverse phytochemicals that have been identified in different pomegranate tissues, to establish a knowledge base for characterization of metabolite profiles, discovery of novel phytochemicals, and investigation of phytochemical interactions in pomegranate. We also assess recent findings on the function and molecular mechanism of ATs as well as urolithins, the intestinal microbial derivatives of pomegranate HTs, on human nutrition and health. A better understanding of the structural diversity of pomegranate phytochemicals as well as their bioconversions and bioactivities in humans will facilitate the interrogation of their synergistic/antagonistic interactions and accelerate their applications in dietary-based cancer chemoprevention and treatment in the future. Research concerning the benefits derived from dietary polyphenols, a significant class within the family of phytonutrients, has increased considerably in the last decade. Prior to the late 1990s, the nutritional spotlight focused on the antioxidant capabilities of carotenoids, vitamins, and minerals. More recently, however, research has emerged in strong support of the antioxidant capacity of polyphenols and their role in the prevention and/or treatment of certain cancers, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and inflammation. Polyphenols are categorized according to the nature of their carbon skeleton, ranging from basic phenolic molecules to highly complex compounds, such as flavonoids, the most common and widely studied of all phenolic compounds. Ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE) was evaluated as a green procedure for the recovery of phenolic compounds with antioxidant capacity from underutilized mango 'criollo' (peel, pulp and seed). Magnetic stirred was performed as conventional extraction. Response surface methodology using a three-factor (% ethanol, amplitude and time) central composite design was used to maximize the extraction for total phenolic compounds (TPC), total flavonoids and antioxidant capacity. The operational conditions to maximize extraction were: peel, 46% ethanol/amplitude 60% (36 µm)/6.5 min; pulp, 25% ethanol/amplitude 75% (45 µm)/30 min; seed 49% ethanol/100% (60 µm) amplitude/20 min. The phenolic composition of the optimized extracts was characterized by HPLC-QTOF-MS/MS and 45 compounds were tentatively identified as xanthones (mangiferin), flavonoids (quercetin), ellagic acid, benzophenones (maclurin), gallate derivatives and gallotannins. UAE increased TPC extraction (33%); interestingly mangiferin extraction increased 53% in peel, similarly, ellagic acid increased up to 2.5 and 4.4 times in peel and seed extracts. Objective: Glutathione S-transferase (GST) and NAD(P)H:quinine oxidoreductase 1 (NQO1) are the enzymes important in cytoprotection and bioactivation of chemicals. This study has addressed effects of polyphenolic compounds; ellagic acid, quercetin, naringenin, resveratrol, rutin and hesperidin on rabbit liver GST and NQO1 enzyme activities. Methods: Cytosolic fractions were obtained from homogenized liver tissues of rabbit by differential centrifugation. After calculating IC50 values of individual enzymes for phenolic compounds, both Lineweaver-Burk and Dixon plots were drawn to determine the effect of phenolics on enzyme activity. Michaelis-Menten constant (Km), maximum velocity (Vmax), and inhibition constant (Ki) were calculated from Lineweaver-Burk and Dixon plots, respectively. Results: Resveratrol was found to be the most potent inhibitor for rabbit hepatic cytosolic GST activity with 75.9±2.06 μM IC50 value while naringenin was the least potent one with IC50 value of 260±1.92 μM. Hesperidin and quercetin were found to be the most and least potent inhibitors for NQO1 enzyme activity with IC50 values of 2.7±0.85 μM and 13.8±0.91 μM, respectively. Resveratrol and naringenin inhibited GST activity noncompetitively and mixed type with Ki of 6.2 μM and 245 μM, respectively; while both hesperidin with 0.64 μM Ki value and quercetin with 3.5 μM Ki value inhibited NQO1 activity in a competitive manner. Conclusion: These results indicate that phenolic compounds may modulate Phase II enzyme, GST and NQO1. Jua (juá in Portuguese) is an underexplored fruit from Brazil's northeast. This fruit is rich in antioxidant substances. However, there is a dearth of information about jua's bioactive potential. The present study evaluated two extraction methods (continuous agitation and ultrasound-assisted extraction—UAE) and employed three different solvents (water, ethanol, and acetone) to efficiently recover soluble phenolic compounds. Aqueous extracts obtained by UAE showed the highest total phenolic content (TPC) and antiradical activity. Besides being an eco-friendly procedure, extraction and/or solubility in an aqueous medium is also important for food application. Ellagic acids were the predominant phenolics (80%) found in aqueous jua pulp extract obtained by UAE, as determined by HPLC, while its TPC was 405.8 gallic acid equivalent per gram of fruit. This extract also exhibited a higher scavenging activity towards peroxyl radicals when compared to that of several other fruits from the literature, including grape, strawberry, cranberry, and walnuts, which are known references in terms of antioxidants. This is the first report that demonstrates jua pulp's potential as an alternative source of ellagic acid and other phenolic acids and flavonoids. Maple syrup of four grades (extra-light, light, medium, and dark) of the 2007 crop was provided by three local (St. Joseph's Island, Ontario, Canada) producers. Twenty-four phenolic compounds were isolated from a medium-grade syrup and identified on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence. They were (a) benzoic acid and several hydroxylated and methoxylated derivatives (gallic acid, 1-O-galloyl-β-d-glucose, γ-resorcylic acid); (b) cinnamic acid derivatives (p-coumaric acid, 4-methoxycinnamic acid, caffeic acid, ferulic acid, sinapic acid, and the ester chlorogenic acid); (c) flavonoids, the flavanols catechin and epicatechin, and the flavonols kaempferol and its 3-O-β-d-glucoside, 3-O-β-d-galactoside, quercetin and its 3-O-β-d-glucoside, 3-O-β-L-rhamnoside and 3-O-rhamnoglucoside (rutin). Traces obtained at 280 and 350 nm in HPLC runs of the ethyl acetate-soluble fractions of eight samples indicated the presence of many more phenolic substances, most at very low concentration with some varibilities in peak heights, but not in retention times, among the syrups. In view of the well-established antioxidant activity these substances possess, it is suggested that it is the complexity of the mixture rather than any one compound that may serve to counter the unhealthful presence of the high concentration of sugars in the syrup. Abstract: Epidemiological studies show a link between the consumption of plant-derived foods and a range of health benefits. These benefits have been associated, at least partially, to some of the phytochemical constituents, and, in particular, to polyphenols. In the last few years, nutraceuticals have appeared in the market. These are pharmaceutical forms (pills, powders, capsules, vials, etc.) containing food bioactive compounds as active principles. The bioactive phytochemicals have become a very significant source for nutraceutical ingredients. Scientific research supports the biological activity of many of these food phytochemicals, but the health claims attributed to the final marketed nutraceutical products have often little or doubtful scientific foundation. This is due to the fact that a lot of the scientific evidence is derived from animal testing and in vitro assays, whereas human clinical trials are scarce and inconclusive. Some key issues such as bioavailability, metabolism, dose/response and toxicity of these food bioactive compounds or the nutraceuticals themselves have not been well established yet. Amongst the phytochemicals, several groups of polyphenols (anthocyanins, proanthocyanidins, flavanones, isoflavones, resveratrol and ellagic acid) are currently used in the nutraceutical industry. In this report, we have reviewed the most recent scientific knowledge on the bioavailability and biological activity of these polyphenols (‘fact’), as well as the health claims (which are not always supported by scientific studies) ascribed to the polyphenols-containing nutraceuticals (‘fiction’). The in vitro antioxidant capacity, often used as a claim, can be irrelevant in terms of in vivo antioxidant effects. Bioavailability, metabolism, and tissue distribution of these polyphenols in humans are key factors that need to be clearly established in association to the biological effects of these polyphenols-containing nutraceuticals. Abstract: The present work is aimed at evaluating the protective effect of ellagic acid (EA), a natural polyphenolic compound that is widely distributed in fruits and nuts against nicotine-induced toxicity in rat peripheral blood lymphocytes. The effect of EA against nicotine toxicity was compared with N-acetylcysteine (NAC), a well-known antioxidant. Lymphocytes were exposed to nicotine at the doses of 0.125, 0.25, 0.5, 1, 2, 3 and 4mM for 1h in culture media. Thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), a lipid peroxidative marker and reduced glutathione (GSH), as indicative of endogenous antioxidant status were analyzed to fix the optimum dose. The lowest concentration eliciting significant damage was 1mM nicotine and maximum damage was observed with 3mM concentration, as evidenced by increased levels of TBARS and decreased levels of GSH. Hence, the test concentration was fixed at 3mM nicotine. To establish most effective protective support we used five different concentrations of EA (10, 50, 100, 150 and 300μM) against 3mM nicotine. A dose-dependent inhibitory effect was observed with all doses of EA. Maximum protection was observed at the dose of 100μM EA. So, 100μM dose was used for further studies. We have tested five different concentrations of NAC—0.25, 0.5, 1, 2 and 4mM to elucidate the optimum protective dose against nicotine toxicity. One millimolar NAC showed a significant protection against nicotine toxicity. Protective effect of EA against nicotine toxicity was elucidated by analyzing the lipid peroxidative index, viz., TBARS, hydroperoxides (HP) and endogenous antioxidant status, viz., superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase (CAT), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), reduced glutathione (GSH), Vitamins A, E and C. DNA damage and repair were assessed by using alkaline single-cell microgel electrophoresis (Comet assay) and micronucleus assay. There was a significant increase in the levels of lipid peroxidative index, severity in DNA damage and micronuclei number in nicotine-treated group, which was positively modulated by EA treatment. Antioxidant status was significantly depleted in nicotine-treated group, which was effectively restored by EA treatment. The protection of EA against nicotine toxicity was equally effective to that of NAC. EA and NAC treatment alone did not produce any damage to the normal lymphocytes at their effective doses. Polyphenols are natural organic compounds produced by plants, acting as antioxidants by reacting with ROS. These compounds are widely consumed in daily diet and many studies report several benefits to human health thanks to their bioavailability in humans. However, the digestion process of phenolic compounds is still not completely clear. Moreover, bioavailability is dependent on the metabolic phase of these compounds. The LogP value can be managed as a simplified measure of the lipophilicity of a substance ingested within the human body, which affects resultant absorption. The biopharmaceutical classification system (BCS), a method used to classify drugs intended for gastrointestinal absorption, correlates the solubility and permeability of the drug with both the rate and extent of oral absorption. BCS may be helpful to measure the bioactive constituents of foods, such as polyphenols, in order to understand their nutraceutical potential. There are many literature studies that focus on permeability, absorption, and bioavailability of polyphenols and their resultant metabolic byproducts, but there is still confusion about their respective LogP values and BCS classification. This review will provide an overview of the information regarding 10 dietarypolyphenols (ferulic acid, chlorogenic acid, rutin, quercetin, apigenin, cirsimaritin, daidzein, resveratrol, ellagic acid, and curcumin) and their association with the BCS classification. Three anthocyanins, four flavonols, three aromatic acids and five gallotannins were isolated from Sapria himalayana f. albovinosa in Myanmar. They were identified as cyanidin 3- O -glucoside (1), cyanidin 3- O -xyloside (2) and peonidin 3- O -glucoside (3) (anthocyanins), quercetin 3- O -glucoside (4), quercetin 7- O -glucoside (5), quercetin 3- O -glucuronide (6) and isorhamnetin 3- O -glucoside (7) (flavonols), ellagic acid (8), gallic acid (9) and ethyl gallate (10) (aromatic acids), and 1,2,4,6-tetragalloylglucose (11), 1,4,6-trigalloylglucose (12), 1,2,6-trigalloylglucose (13), 1,2,4-trigalloylglucose (14) and 1,6-digalloylglucose (15) (gallotannins) by UV, LC-MS, acid hydrolysis, NMR and/or HPLC comparisons with authentic samples. The chemical composition of S. myanmarensis was qualitatively the same with that of S. himalayana f. albovinosa. Phenolic compounds of the Rafflesiaceae species including Sapria , Rafflesia and Rhizanthes were isolated and identified in this survey for the first time. The current study reports on polyphenols profile of pomegranate leaves (PL) Punica granatum grown in Egypt and exhibiting their role in development of an eco-friendly method of green synthesis of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs). PL aqueous alcohol extract was fractionated, the major phenolic compound was isolated from the polyphenols rich fraction (ethyl acetate fraction) and identified by conventional and spectroscopic methods of analysis as ellagic acid. Furthermore, the fraction was standardized and analysed using UPLC-PDA-UV and LC–MS-MS techniques revealing tentative identification of 23 polyphenolic compounds, quantifying ellagic acid as 43.14 ± 0.57 μg/mg of the fraction. AgNPs were successfully synthesized with the aid of polyphenols rich fraction. This is the first report revealing the systematic optimization of the green synthesis process using various independent variables. AgNPs were characterized by adopting UV–Vis spectroscopy, FTIR, XRD, and SEM, which revealed strong SPR band within average of λ max 425 nm and polygonal shaped nanoparticles of 26.22 nm size, respectively. The antimicrobial efficacies of AgNPs and polyphenols rich fraction were tested against Gram-positive bacteria (Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, and Sarcina lutea), Gram-negative bacteria (Salmonella paratyphi, Escherichia coli, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and fungi (Candida albicans).
